I don’t understand why companies have to come up with these super long names to their products. This name was so long that I couldn’t even put the whole name in the title of my post. The full name is Formula 10.0.6 Deep Down Detox Ultra Cleansing Mud Mask Orange + Bergamot. But enough of my ranting, this product is supposed to be a deep cleansing mask made to provide a clearer, brighter complexion. If you’re interested in knowing my thoughts, keep reading.
The Deep Down Detox mask claims to be “super cleansing” and to give a “clearer, brighter complexion.” The packaging also highlights that the orange “recharges,” the sea salt “cleanses,” and the bergamot “balances.”
After looking at the ingredients, I was surprised that they don’t mention that this is a bentonite clay mask on the front of the package. Bentonite clay is known to remove impurities and gently exfoliate the skin. In fact, that was the main reason I decided to purchase this product. I wanted to try regular bentonite clay, but I wasn’t feeling the fact that I would need to mix it myself. This mask is already in a form that you can apply directly to the skin. In fact, the texture is quite smooth and creamy which makes it easy to spread evenly over the face. In addition, the smell is quite nice. It smells very slightly of orange that makes me feel refreshed.
Upon application, this mask feels cooling and slightly tingly. I actually like the tingling because it feels like it is doing something. It dries down in 10-15 minutes and then rinses off pretty easily.
I actually really like this mask. I definitely think that it does a great job of cleansing. I tested this by applying the mask and rinsing it off and then using my toner to see if anything was left behind. It passed that test with flying colors. Also, I have noticed that after using this mask, my face does not feel overly tight or dry. I really like that because I do have a tendency to get dry patches on my cheeks and this mask did not cause that. After rinsing the mask off, my face felt pretty smooth. Not as smooth as it does when I use a normal exfoliator, but smooth nonetheless. Because this mask is non-drying and gently exfoliating, I think it would work well for all skin types.
As for the claims about clearer and brighter skin, I can’t really comment on that. I’ve only been using this mask for about 2 weeks, and I haven’t really noticed a change on brightness. I don’t have acne, so I can’t say that my skin is clearer either. I will say that my skin is definitely not being dulled by this product.
Overall, I would recommend the Formula 10.0.6 Deep Down Detox mask if you are looking for a cleansing mask. As a bentonite clay mask, it helps pull impurities out of the skin which over time should help provide clearer, brighter skin. Also at a price point of less than $6, it’s definitely worth it. Deep Down Detox can be purchased at Walgreens or Ulta. I’m not sure of where else it is sold.
