Real Girl Reactions to Khloé Kardashian’s Good American Jeans

UPDATE: The KarJenner effect is REAL. Similarly to Kylie Jenner’s lip kits, Khloé Kardashian’s Good American jeans sold out very quickly. But luckily, just in time for the holidays, there has been a Good American restock at Nordstrom! The high-waisted styles are figure-flattering for all sizes, something that was extremely important to Khloé while she was designing her premium denim line. Khloé’s go-to pair worn above, the Good Legs Crop, are now available, along with some other star-loved styles like the Good Legs Destroyed Skinnies and the Good Cuts Ripped Boyfriend Jeans.

If you’ve been keeping up with Khloé Kardashian, then you know the 32-year-old reality star has turned denim designer with her debut jean line, Good American. Ranging from size 0 to 24, the collection celebrates real women’s curves. Now we have only one question Khloé: Are you still auditioning for the #GoodSquad? Because we tested out some styles and are ready to join.

The Denim Tester: Brittany Talarico, Senior Style Editor
The Style: “Good Legs” Crop Skinny Jeans, $169
The Verdict: I am the resident KarJenner deKoder at PeopleStyle, so I couldn’t wait to get my hands on a pair of these jeans. I love the high-waisted cut and the material is so comfortable they actually feel like jeggings, without looking like jeggings (very important). I felt confident wearing them with a tighter bodysuit because the waistband hit at just the right spot, and I feel like they were more flattering in the butt then other designer denim brands I’ve tried. Plus, I was lucky enough test the same pair Khloé wore to the Good American launch in L.A., so I’m feeling extra Kardashian adjacent.

The Denim Tester: Sharon Clott Kanter, Deputy Style Director
The Style: “Good Legs” Crop Skinny Jeans, $169
The Verdict: I rarely wear denim, so I felt like Khloe’s line really had to blow me away to even register on my radar. And, it did and it didn’t. On a positive note, they were incredibly comfortable — I’m talking leggings comfort levels! — which I absolutely loved. In fact, I wish I could have worn them all day when we tested them because they were so comfy, but alas, we had to send them back. However, even as comfortable as they were, they didn’t fit exactly right on short gals like myself. I’m 5’0” and the smallest size (0) was still too big around the waist and too long in length for me. I’m hoping Khloe expands her line soon to add short inseams and length styles to help out us petite peops.

The Denim Tester: Alex Apatoff, Deputy Style Director
The Style: “Good Legs” destroyed skinny jeans, $189
The Verdict: I am opposed to vanity sizing in theory but not in principle, as I easily wiggled into a size down from my normal one. They’re stretchy, y’all. The stretch meant they were as comfortable as leggings, hugged my butt and didn’t give any unwanted muffin top, which was a plus. But the extreme distressed style of mine put me off – I felt like so much distressing on a stretch jean looked a little inexpensive, and inexpensive these jeans are not. I have to give her props for the “komfort factor” but I don’t know if I’ll be buying these!

The Denim Tester: Emily Kirkpatrick, Associate Style News Editor
The Style: “Good Legs” Ripped Skinny Jeans
The Verdict: My criteria when it comes to the perfect pair of jeans is simple. I want pants that comes up to my belly button, goes down to my ankles, and is tight everywhere in between. But when you’re six feet tall with hips and a butt, that simple wish list is nearly impossible to achieve. That is, until I put on a pair of Good Americans. These pants truly are all my denim dreams come to life. While some of the ripping on other styles is a little OTT for my taste, this pairs subtle slashes grew on me as the day went on. And having to give the samples back was downright heartbreaking. In the end, my only complaint is that with that many cute styles at those prices, Khloé is going to be the reason I file for bankruptcy.

The Denim Tester: Jackie Fields, Beauty Editor
The Style: Good Cuts, $215
The Verdict: Khloé is my favorite Kar-Jenner (OK, she’s actually tied with Kim), so in my eyes, she can do no wrong. That’s why I can’t hate on this distressed style, even though I’m proof positive these are not exactly flattering in a size 10+. I’m big into ripped jeans, so I tried to be a pillar of body confidence for my double digit girls, but these gargantuan holes did my thunder thighs zero favors (plus at $215, I expect more fabric on general principle). That said, the denim itself was supersoft and the waistline wasn’t cutting off the circulation to my lower half while not exposing my buttcrack when I sat (I’m just keeping it real, people, Khloé would want it that way), so in a more conservative pair, I might be sold.

The Denim Tester: Colleen Kratofil, Style Writer-Reporter
The Style: “Good Waist”, $169
The Verdict: I’m a total skinny jeans kind of girl, but these made my every day pairs feel like baggy boyfriend denim. They totally transformed my legs unlike any other pair I’ve ever worn. I chose a pair one size smaller than I typically go for which made me a little hesitant, but it ended up making all the difference. The skin-tight fit made my legs look really slim and thanks to the ridiculously stretchy fabric, they feel more comfortable the longer I wore them. I was also a huge fan of the high-waisted design. It made my legs look crazy long (and ignited a ton of compliments from co-workers) and concealed any problematic areas (for me, that’s my stomach) thanks to it’s shapewear-like fabric. I’m a huge fan of the Good Waist, and apparently so are a lot of shoppers — it’s completely sold out on and Trust me when I say, you’re going to want to get on that wait list.

Style: Good Legs Raw Step Hem Skinny Jeans, $169
The Verdict: I love the look of denim, but I absolutely hate shopping for it. Finding the right fit is the most painful process, which is why I was so relieved when I tried this Good American pair. I love the high-waist and the stretch in the denim makes them hug your body perfectly. The weight of jean is really nice too. My only complaint? The ultra-stretch fabric almost feels like a legging, which I’m not a huge fan of.

Jeans are the ultimate everyday bottoms and almost every clothing company makes them, so why does it seem impossible to actually find a pair that fits us properly? Everything is too loose at the waist and too tight at the thighs, or vice versa. Don’t even get Us started when it comes to chafing, stretched-out fabric and hems that reach past our toes. With all of these potential issues, we need a denim brand we can trust, and by “we,” we mean everybody, not just some of us. We need Good American!

The Good American Good Curve High Waist Ankle Straight Leg Jeans are just one example of what makes the brand’s jeans so innovative, creative, comfortable and stylish. As most of us may already know, Khloe Kardashian founded this denim brand alongside Emma Grede back in 2016 after the two discussed their own issues with finding a solid pair of jeans, and it’s been history ever since. This is a great time to be a part of that history!

Kardashian perfectly explained the two founders’ motivation for creating such an inclusive, body-positive brand: “Whenever we bought new jeans, it was hard for us to find a pair that fit our body types, and even when we did they’d always need alterations. We knew if we both had this problem, there must be tons of girls who did too. So we set out to make a denim line that’s sexy and flattering, and made to fit you – not the other way round.”

The concept of fashion fitting us, rather than the other way around, is a heavy theme in Good American pieces. The brand is well known for its wide size range and focus on creating shapes and fits for women who traditionally can’t find denim brands that cater to their body type. Hence details in these jeans like the brand’s signature contoured waistband, designed to avoid gapping!

Shoppers love how these jeans are not only insanely comfortable, but still right on-trend and extremely flattering, as expected from a brand run by a Kardashian! They say they fit like a glove, and are so excited to have finally found a pair of jeans that fits at first try-on!

These jeans are super stretchy for movement, but won’t stretch out easily, and have a five pocket style with a zip fly and button closure. We’re big fans of the light fading and distressed details, as well as the belt loops. Anything that helps us to accessorize!

Shopping Good American already makes us feel great about ourselves, but there’s something else that will make us feel even better. The denim brand donates to Step Up, an organization that supports young girls from under-resourced communities, helping them to fulfill their potential, perhaps so they can found their own business someday!

Prepare to be shocked by just how comfortable and flattering jeans can really be when you try these on! Let’s go!

The Hunt For A Pair Of Flares: Good American Jeans Try-On Sesh

Since my first-ever post on TME, I’ve been raving about Good American. I recently bought a ton of their jeans to try-on at home, and let me tell you, the results were pretty interesting.

I had been hoping to find a pair of flared jeans to add to my collection, but as it turns out, I’m not sure that style is meant for ultra-curvy 5’2″ women. Regardless, I had so much fun trying all this denim, and I even found a new pair to add to my collection!

Since there are so many sales going on right now at Nordstrom (select Good American styles on sale and up to $100 back) and Good (25% off entire purchase) I knew I needed to give you all the 411 on my findings, and my opinion of the different fits. (And when you’re done, head over to our full page of other Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale finds (plus #DressingRoomSelfies.)

1 // Good Legs High-Waist Ankle Skinny Jeans

The good legs high waist skinnies fit me very, very well. I absolutely love the faux leather material. I personally love how the high-waist jeans hold everything in so well, while also giving that extra va va voom to my peaches! This fit comes in a variety of different colors, and I feel like the overall fit was great for my shape and size. The fabric has great stretch, and also high sculpting and smoothing features. If you’re looking for a good pair of faux leather skinnies, these are it!

2 // Good Curve High-Waist Fray Hem Straight Leg Jeans

This cut of GA jeans had mixed reviews, and from what I read, they seem to run small, soI sized up. I actually bought these in two larger sizes and neither worked for me. I think it’s kind of funny though since these are from the Good Curve collection. I love the color and the frayed bottoms, and the length is perfect, but clearly these are wayyy too snug! GA’s website says the fabric is “revolutionary comfort stretch fabric,” however when I read the material details they are 98% cotton hence the lack of stretch nor fit for me.

3 // Good Curve High-Waist Ankle Straight Leg Jeans

OMG y’all, I absolutely love these straight leg jeans! And I think they’re a perfect alternative to the flares trend, especially if you’re a shorty and curvy gal like me. There wasn’t a single thing that I didn’t like about these jeans. I was surprised that these fit so well since the previous pair of Good Curves I tried didn’t work at all. But boy oh boy, these were so perfect for me! Find them at Nordstrom & Good American

4 // Good Flare Jeans

When I initially ordered GA jeans, I was really hoping that I would be able to find an amazing pair of flared jeans, but TBH the flares don’t work for me at all. I am too curvy and far too short to make any of the GA flares work and would have needed to have these super hemmed. I tried these in a ripped style (sold out), black, and an ankle slit style. Regardless, I was glad I tried them because it gave me some insight into how this style of jeans really doesn’t work for shorter more curvaceous gals. That being said, I truly love how the straight leg jeans give an illusion of a more bell style cut. Find #1 at Nordstrom & Good American, find # 3 at Nordstrom & Good American

5 // Good Straight Twisted Seam Jeans

The GA straight twisted seam jeans gives me all the carpenter jean vibes and were a surprise to me. I’m typically not a fan of the carpenter jean cut, but these are pretty cute. I know GA’s are definitely an investment, but I can see these looking great as painter jeans with paint marks and scuffs to add that more well-worn aesthetic. Find them at Nordstrom & Good American

Even though I didn’t walk away with a great pair of flares, I had so much trying all of these different GA styles on and finding the right fit for me. If you have yet to try the magic that is GA jeans then I definitely recommend you do soon!
