We decided to do some digging to find out exactly what the actress does to stay stunning.

Her diabetes diagnosis changed everything.

Berry was diagnosed with diabetes when she was 19 years old. After several years of “scary situations” and not understanding the condition, Berry learned that she had to make some serious lifestyle changes for the good of her health. So the actress cut processed sugars and bread from her diet and now sticks to a clean and healthy diet, which includes eating plenty of veggies and drinking lots of water, she told the L.A. Times.

“My diet is geared towards managing my diabetes, so I try to eat four small meals a day. I like to feel strong and healthy,” Berry told Women & Home South Africa.

Her diabetes-friendly meal plan focuses on foods that are low in fat, sugar and processed carbohydrates. Her favorite meals are simple-yet-tasty healthy staples, like grilled tuna and garlic mashed potatoes, she told the Daily Mail.

“I started to eat loads of wonderful fresh vegetables, chicken, fresh fish and pasta. I cut out red meat and cut back on fruit because it can contain quite a lot of sugar,” Berry said.

She avoids sugar (and so do her kids).

Berry knows the problems sugar can cause for her system and her skin, even referring to it as “poison,” according to Marie Claire UK. She uses sugar substitute Xylitol for herself and her two kids (daughter Nahla, 9, and son Maceo, 3), and the kiddos primarily stick to a healthy meal plan, too, just like Mom!

“It’s rough though because is at a friend’s birthday party every other month and there are all these wonderful birthday cakes, so I don’t deprive her from that,” Berry said. “I strongly believe in talking about nutrition at an early age and setting a good example.”

She drinks protein shakes to keep her energy up.

“I have never worked out with a lot of weights unless I had to for a film role. Left to my own devices, I just do cardio. I do exercises that involve my own body weight, because I never want to get too muscly,” Berry told L.A. Times. “I am diabetic, so exercising has always been a part of managing my disease and keeping my sugars under control.”

The star’s trainer, Nat Bardonnet, told Healthista that her training regimen “sculpt women into a sexy femme fatale, curvy but toned.” We’d say being a Bond girl solidified her standing there!

As if we needed reminding, Berry has insane abs, so it’s no secret that she focuses on her core three times a week during her 30-minute training sessions with Bardonnet. The trainer explained how the actress can handle any “curveball” workout that Bardonnet throws at her, and she’ll do so with a smile.

“Her abs look amazing,”Bardonnet told People. “The way I push Halle, not many people would be able to last. She always has great energy and a great smile. She always stuns me how beautiful and sexy she looks.”

Here’s everything Halle Berry eats in a single day to stay in such incredible shape

Halle Berry is 52 years old, but she doesn’t look it. But it’s not worth getting down on yourself too hard for not looking the same, after all she is a celebrity. That means she has no worries about money, no time wasted on the morning and evening commute to and from work, and has the dollar to spend on personal trainers and personal chefs to make her diet as streamlined as possible.

But what exactly does she eat?

The actress has been open about following the keto diet in the past, and frequently shares stories about the food she eats and her exercise regime on Instagram, but now, Peter Lee Thomas, her personal trainer, has come forward with all the details. Thomas recently spoke to Hollywood Life, where he revealed all that she eats in a day.

First of all, she doesn’t eat anything for breakfast – instead having a large glass of water (about 8-12 oz) with a squeeze of lemon. Before you all run away at the prospect of no breakfast, let’s check out the rest of her routine. Before her workout, she takes amino acids to help her build muscle.

“Essentially it is the actual amino acids that build muscle, not the actual food source, because the food first needs to be converted into amino acids to create the muscle,” Thomas said. “If you imagine your body as a freeway system, these amino acids go straight onto the freeway. It’s the quickest way possible for your body to get these nutrients because nothing has to be digested.”

After this, she has a coffee, with one or two tablespoons of MCT oil. This oil (medium chain triglycerides) can be found in coconoil oil, Ghee, and certain types of butter. Adding oil or butter to your coffee is known as a ‘bulletproof coffee’ – with some in the health industry saying it speeds up fat-burning and others saying it just adds calories.

Following this, she sometimes takes a pre-workout supplement, usually ‘Can’t Beet This’ – which is made from beetroots and contains natural caffeine. After her workout, she has her first real meal of the day – basically brunch. Berry has a nutrient-dense meal to recover, usually steak or chicken with dark leafy greens like spinach or kale, and often two or three eggs.

Over the course of the day, she snacks on various fruits and vegetables. “She always has lots of cut up veggies around and it’s great because the kids like to snack on that too,” said Thomas. “She likes blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries, those are all good on the ketogenic plan.”

Aside from her love of snacking on organic vegetables and fruits, she also drinks bone broth whenever she feels like it in the day – sometimes even in bed. “A lot of the times you can go to a butcher shop and they will literally give you free beef bones and buffalo bones and chicken bones, because they just don’t want them and they’ll give them to you for free and with that you can make a really nice bone broth,” Thomas said.

Then, for dinner, her chef (Cristina Shabatian) makes her a lamb stew. “She really likes lamb so she’ll often have a lamb chop or her chef will make her a really nice ketogenic stew, that will have a lot of cauliflower and broccoli and other vegetables that are filling and some sort of lean grass-fed protein in it,” her personal trainer added.

For her final meal of the day, she will sometimes alternate this with ‘zoodles’ (zucchini noodles) with pesto and pine nuts. Otherwise she’ll instead have a ketogenic chilli con carne – which is basically chilli without the beans (sorry to all the veggies out there).

While this clearly works for Berry – it’s not possible for everyone. And even if you can pull it off, it’s worth mentioning that different people can respond to diets in different ways, so no rigid routine will work for all people in the same way.

“The keto lifestyle offers so many benefits such as weight loss, (mums that’s how we get rid of our baby bellies), appetite control, more energy and better mental performance,” she wrote on Instagram. “If you’re like me, you can possibly reverse type 2 diabetes, you’ll experience better physical endurance, better skin and also less acne if that’s an issue. And it even helps control migraines!”

So what exactly is this crazy popular eating plan?

“A ketogenic diet relies on fat as the key source of energy, while severely limiting carbohydrates, and allowing moderate amounts of protein,” Accredited Practising Dietitian and Spokesperson for the Dietitians Association of Australia, Nicole Dynan, told Women’s Health.

“As the main source of energy, the body breaks down fat for energy, which leads to a build up of acids called ‘ketones’ in the body. This process is known as ‘ketosis’. The body enters ketosis when carbohydrate intake is reduced to around 50g per day, or less.”

The star often shares her go-to keto meals on Instagram, chowing down on four dishes per day. She typically starts with a juice of beets and Purium’s Scoop of Greens for breakfast followed by a handful of green beans with bolognese for lunch.

“I don’t really eat pasta, anything with sugar, it’s very much meat-based,” she told PEOPLE. “I eat meat, I enjoy chicken and beef and a lot of vegetables.”

On a recent appearance on Live! With Kelly and Ryan, she shared that the plan works for her as a diabetic.

“I eat healthy fats all day long, avocado, oil, coconut oil and I use butter, but don’t have any sugar. So when your body gets trained to burn fats, it’s constantly on fat-burning mode—that’s the secret,” she said.

She’s even managed to make the diet family-friendly for her daughter, Nala, 10, and son Maceo, 4.

“My kids love stuffed zucchini halves. They’re my answer to a stuffed baked potato,” she said. “They love it.”

But before you jump on this bandwagon, speak to a pro. Especially if you have existing medical conditions like type 2 diabetes.

Age ain’t nothing but a number! Halle Berry shared her top 9 Instagram photos of 2019 on Monday, December 30, and the roundup is nothing short of a tribute to the star’s flawless physique.

In one snap, the Kidnap actress, 53, shows off her toned abs while wearing a cropped black workout top to the gym. In another, the Oscar winner rocks a low-cut maroon Zuhair Murad gown on the 2019 Golden Globes red carpet. In addition to showing off the John Wick: Chapter 3 star’s cleavage, the designer dress also featured a high slit on one side, providing a peek at one of Berry’s toned legs.

A third photo from the Ohio native’s Instagram roundup showed off her bare back, which featured a large, vertical vine tattoo that ran the length of her spine. The picture was first shared on Berry’s Instagram account in March with the caption, “Who says I’m not a mermaid?”

In May, during an appearance on The Late Late Show With James Corden, the Extant alum clarified that the ink was fake. “I am starting a new movie in a few months so I’m trying out different tattoos to see what will fit best for my character,” she explained to Corden at the time. “And I’m discovering how long they will last, how much wear I would get out of one, so I know how much it’s all going to cost.”

Halle Berry shared a new Instagram photo with her fans today, one which allowed her to show off her toned body. The update was special because the actress and director was celebrating her final day of shooting for Bruised.

The stunner was photographed in front of roll-up doors. She stood with her hands up and in fists and flexed her arms to show off her muscles. She wore a tight-fitting athletic top with half-sleeves and paired it with dark, tight leggings, standing with her feet apart and glancing down at the ground while raising her chin slightly. Her hair was worn down with her roots featuring a lighter tone. Halle also sported a dark pair of fingerless gloves and completed her look with a pair of untied sneakers.

The newly uploaded image was shot in black-and-white in an industrial setting. Beside her was a concrete wall with a pallet leaning on it. Although most of the photo was gray, there was a beam of light that fell on the actress’ face and arms.

Fans seemed to love the picture and left their compliments in the comments section.

The various stories showed the actress in the boxing ring as she completed a variety of exercises. She was sporting a t-shirt and leggings and also pulled her hair back into a ponytail.

In the past week, Halle shared another update where she posed alongside her stunt double, standing with her arms crossed as she was drenched in sweat. The star gave a serious expression with her lips pursed and wore her hair pulled back into a bun. Anisha Tee Gibbs, who was previously Halle’s stunt double in John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum, stood behind Halle and struck a similar pose to the award-winning actress.
