Heidi Klum seems totally ageless — her toned physique and effortless beauty are the envy of most women we know. So we had to find out: What’s the secret?
According to the supermodel, it all starts with healthy habits.
“I eat very healthy and I run on the treadmill a little bit. There is no secret shake or secret pill. I wish there was. I just love eating good and healthy food. I don’t go to dinner a lot,” she told TODAY. “We cook every day. I have four children. It’s about cooking fresh food every day … Eating home-cooked meals at a specific time. I eat at six and that’s kind of it.”
We also asked Klum to share some of her skin care discoveries with us, given that she’s been modeling for about two decades and has worked with the best in the business. Refreshingly, she keeps things simple and affordable.

“I use it on my face. It’s very light,” Klum said of this moisturizer. “When I use very rich creams, I break out in pimples. I’ve been using it for years. It doesn’t clog my pores.”
This lightweight moisturizer typically retails for $18, but Amazon currently has it on sale for $15.30!
Aapri Exfoliating Facial Scrub Cream
Klum is also a fan of this apricot scrub for exfoliation. “I do that in the shower. I wash my hair and condition it. Then I use the scrub twice a week,” she said.
The specific brand she recommended can be hard to find, but another popular alternative is St. Ives Apricot Scrub. Some reviewers, however, have found the St. Ives face scrub to be a bit harsh for sensitive skin.
Aquis Exfoliating Back Scrubber
As for her body: “I use a loofah thing, one of those things that are very scratchy with handles on each side,” she said. “I do my body and my butt and scrub myself down. Sometimes I wear body makeup, and it’s so thick. I need to loofah that off.”
So there you have it! Even if you’re not blessed with supermodel genes, it doesn’t cost much to steal their skin care secrets!

Heidi Klum’s age-defying beauty secrets
1. Exercise four times per week
Heidi exercises four times per week, as advised by her famous personal trainer David Kirsch. This includes running, cycling, weight lifting and swimming, mostly outdoors in nature.
2. Drink many liters of water per day
The supermodel drinks many liters of water per day to flush out toxins. It also helps with weight loss, staying fit and maintaining glowy skin.
3. Using false eyelashes
Heidi Klum doesn’t hesitate to wear false eyelashes on her upper lash line to enhance her beauty look, coupled with eyeliner and mascara.
4. Living by the 80/20 diet
The diet, which is followed by many celebrities including Kate Moss, consists of eating ultra-healthily 80% of the time and letting go for the other 20%. A good tip for losing weight without risk of yoyo-ing.
5. Avoid carbohydrates
To watch her weight, Heidi Klum has totally banned bread and pasta from her diet. Instead, she replaces them with fruit and vegetables for top energy levels – and rock-hard abs.

Heidi Klum tells us the most random thing she uses in her skin care routine

Sometimes learning about the bougie skin care routine of a celebrity can be shocking, whether it’s Sandra Bullock getting “penis facials” or Jessica Alba posing in a futuristic LED face mask. On the other hand, the revelation of a celeb’s drugstore fave can be just as surprising, like finding out a star swears by the same face cleanser you’ve been using since junior high. Heidi Klum takes it even further with her go-to skin care product, which is something many of us used when we were babies: Johnson and Johnson Baby Shampoo.
“I use baby shampoo from Johnson and Johnson to wash my face,” Klum told HelloGiggles at an event for U.K. beauty supplement Perfectil. “I think that whatever you give children has to be good for adults,” she added. When the former Project Runway host and model had suffered from a recurring stye, her eye doctor suggested using the baby product to thoroughly wash off her eye makeup. “I feel like some of the products out there are too harsh, taking out all of your natural oils out and everything,” said Klum. “Products that are for kids are great because they go through so much more testing. We shouldn’t forget that.” We’re not sure if we’d switch out our beloved Drunk Elephant cleanser for baby shampoo ourselves, but we’re in awe of Klum’s skin care secret.
The rest of her skin care routine is just as simple. “I use a moisturizer called Buttermilk, it’s by Mario Badescu,” Klum said. “I’ve tried many different things and people send me stuff all the time, but this is very light. There is no perfume in it, it’s not super thick, or greasy, or too heavy.”
As Perfectil’s new U.S. ambassador, Klum has also added a supplement to her regimen, opting for the brand’s classic formula, Perfectil Original, which works as a multivitamin along with targeting beauty concerns. “It’s for skin and hair and nails. I prefer that ‘cause it’s a one-stop shop, Klum explained.”

We’ll certainly heed all of this beauty advice! As for Klum’s next TV venture, she’ll be joining the Amazon family along with her Project Runway co-star, Tim Gunn, on a new shopping-themed show.

Heidi Klum Has Been Using This $15 Moisturizer for Years

Heidi Klum has been in front of a camera and on the runway for nearly three decades, and she’s always had the kind of glowy, flawless skin that makes us want to know every single thing about her beauty and skin-care routine.
Thankfully, she recently opened up about some of her favorite products, telling Today about the “lightweight” moisturizer she’s used for years. The best part: The product’s price tag actually doesn’t break the bank.
Klum swears by Mario Badescu Buttermilk Moisturizer (Buy It, $15, amazon.com) for a glowing complexion, sharing: “I use it on my face. It’s very light. When I use very rich creams, I break out in pimples. I’ve been using it for years. It doesn’t clog my pores.” (Related: This $22 Seaweed Night Cream Is the Affordable La Mer Moisturizing Soft Cream Copycat)

This gentle moisturizer is chock-full of nourishing ingredients, like lactic acid (an exfoliating alpha hydroxy acid) and thyme extract (an herb that boasts potent antioxidant properties), which help to dissolve dead skin cells and reveal brighter skin beneath. It also contains allantoin—a non-irritating agent that stimulates healthy tissue growth—in addition to chamomile, which can have a soothing, softening effect on the skin.
Online reviewers are equally obsessed with the moisturizer, with many people noting that it helps with conditions like rosacea, acne, and generally sensitive skin.
“I have finally found my new moisturizer!” wrote one recent reviewer. “I have combination skin so moisturizer makes skin greasy when it’s dry. This moisturizer makes my skin so soft and hydrated without looking shiny or greasy. I’m in love.”
Another reviewer even name-dropped Klum, writing: “This is a great moisturizer for combination and oily skin. Heidi Klum swears by it! She doesn’t buy $300 creams, she buys this moisturizer for about $15!” (Related: The Best Moisturizers for Every Skin Type)
Klum isn’t the only famous face devoted to Mario Badescu Buttermilk Moisturizer. Martha Stewart and Bella Hadid have shared that they’ve used it in the past, too.
In fact, Badescu’s entire skin-care line—including the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion (Buy It, $14, amazon.com)—has been a cult-favorite among celebs like Hadid, Khloé Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, and Riverdale actress Lili Reinhart, who have all raved about the powerful acne-fighting product.
With stars like Klum, Jennifer Aniston, and Kristen Bell all admitting to loving budget-friendly beauty buys, our wallets (and skin-care routines) couldn’t be happier.

Supermodel and America’s Got Talent judge Heidi Klum spills all her tips for looking and feeling her best.
Redbook: What is the secret to your amazing glow?
Heidi Klum: I’m a big believer in your are what you eat. My four kids and I are always eating healthy. That’s just the way we live in my house. I’ve also been taking Perfectil supplements for a few months. I like the original one for your hair, skin, and nails. They have separate vitamins if you feel like one area needs a boost, but I like that this is a one stop shop.
RB: Do you have a philosophy on skincare?
HK: I think it’s best to keep it simple. I wash my face with baby shampoo — if it’s good for babies, it has to be good for me, too. It even gets off my TV makeup and false lashes. Then I’ll use the Buttermilk Moisturizer from Mario Badescu. I don’t use toners or anything else. I feel like it just sucks everything out of my skin.
RB: What is your hair routine?
HK: I take a shower every morning and wash my hair with Iles Formula. I have friends that don’t wash their hair for five days. That doesn’t work for me. I feel like I’m not awake if I don’t wash my hair. And if my hair is done at work that day, I’ll wash it again when I get home. I don’t like all that product getting in the bed.
RB: If you only had two minutes to do your makeup, what would you use?
HK: Charlotte Tilbury foundation, tap a cream blush over my cheeks, fill in my brows with an Anastasia Beverly Hills skinny pencil, then brush L’Oréal Voluminous over my lashes.
RB: What products do you always carry in your purse?
HK: Blotting papers — I get super shiny. And Pawpaw lip balm from Australia. My makeup artist of fifteen years Linda introduced me to it years ago before it became so popular.
RB: Do you have any beauty regrets?
HK: I love the sun, and I believe vitamin D is good for us, but I think I sometimes overdo it. I started noticing little spots on my face and have had to get a few removed, so I’ve started to use more sunscreen. I like the tinted one from La Roche-Posay. It doesn’t leave a weird blue cast like some do.
RB: What would you like to teach your daughters about beauty?
HK: I want them to be feel beautiful just the way they are. Everyone is wearing so much foundation and contouring, but I always tell them their skin is gorgeous, not to cover it up.

America’s Got Talent judge Heidi Klum has accomplished many things — from her insanely successful modeling career to helping create an Emmy-winning TV show. But beyond those endeavors, the 45-year-old fashion mogul can also boast some seriously youthful-looking skin. And now we know just how she does it.
Amazon Aapri Exfoliating Facial Scrub Cream amazon.com $5.24
Of course, we totally realize that Heidi most likely gets the five-star, glam-squad treatment for every event and TV appearance. But when it comes to her skin, she told E! News in a new interview that she “likes to keep it simple.” Beyond all the makeup, Heidi is keen on one very particular product that she says makes a huge difference. What’s even sweeter is that her go-to staple also happens to be on Amazon … and doesn’t cost a million dollars.
“I do like a scrub,” she told the outlet. “It’s called Aapri. You can get it at the drugstore, because I believe it’s good to exfoliate twice a week. You know, it keeps your skin rejuvenating, making new skin over and over again.”
The product contains apricot kernel oil, aloe vera, and vitamin E, and claims to get rid of dull-looking skin. The only downside is that you won’t find it wandering down the aisles of U.S. drugstores — your best bet would be to order it on Amazon.

Heidi Klum has shared her exercise diary with readers of her self-titled website to encourage them to get in shape.
The German supermodel–who raises four children with husband Seal–announced plans earlier this year for her own website to give women advice on fashion, beauty, parenting, and relationships. While she has assembled a team of experts, she is also using her own experiences to help her fans get fit.
She said,”So let’s really do this thing! I know it can be intimidating, and it may be easier to just say, ‘Eh, maybe tomorrow.’ Trust me, I get it. I know what it’s like to juggle a lot of things: Family, friends, work. We are all busy and sometimes exercise gets left behind. At the same time, I’m 37 years old and I definitely want to be fit and healthy. I want to look and feel good, and I’m betting all of you do, too.”
The online venture is the latest in a long list of projects Heidi has been working on including her TV show Project Runway, launching her own perfume and focusing on her maternity and fashion lines.
Our favorite part of the site is Heidi’s Look of the Day, where she models her outfit for fans without any makeup on. She’s definitely a down-to-earth girl and we love it!
