In a video of her arrest, Dash appears emotional as two officers place her in handcuffs and then walk her to a police car. She tells the officers that she works as an actress but took a break and “did politics for a while.”
Dash is best known for her role as Dionne Davenport in the 1995 teenage romance movie “Clueless.”
In February 2018, the actress-turned-conservative political commentator filed paperwork to run for a congressional seat in Southern California but withdrew her bid a month later telling Cosmopolitan magazine that holding an elected office would be “detrimental to the health and well-being of my family.”
“My goal was, and remains, to improve the lives of people who have been forgotten for decades by the Democratic Party,” she said.

Dash worked as an on-air contributor at Fox News until 2016. During her time as a paid contributor, Dash sparked widespread criticism when she said that there was no longer a need for award shows or television networks that honor the African American community. Dash also thought Black History Month should be abolished because there isn’t a white history month.
“Either we want to have segregation or integration,” she said on “Fox & Friends” in 2016. “And if we don’t want segregation, then we need to get rid of channels like BET and the BET Awards and the Image Awards, where you’re awarded if you’re Black. If it were the other way around, we would be up in arms.”
Dash was also suspended for using a profanity on-air while discussing former President Barack Obama’s views on terrorism.

As the 2018 elections inch closer and closer, more political hopefuls are announcing their campaigns for Congress. And among those running is Clueless actress Stacey Dash.
The former actress will be running as a Republican for a seat in California’s (very liberal) 44th District. Here’s what we know about the star turned politician.
1 How old is she?
According to her official Twitter page, the actress was born in 1967, making her 51 years old.
2 Does Stacey Dash have kids?
Dash has a daughter and a son, both from previous relationships. She had her son, Austin Williams, in 1991 with then-boyfriend R&B singer Christopher Williams, and her daughter, Lola Lovell, in 2003 with her first husband, Brian Lovell.
3 Is she married?
Dash separated from her third husband, Emmanuel Xuereb, in 2010. She filed for divorce and a restraining order at the time, saying that Xuereb had physically abused her during their two-year marriage. The actress was previously married to Lovell from 1999 to 2005, and then James Maby from 2005 to 2006.
4 What are her political views?
Dash has publicly identified herself as a Republican since 2012, when she announced her support of Mitt Romney for president on Twitter. In 2014, Fox News hired her as a commentator, and she worked for the network until 2017.

“We’re Americans, period,” she said in the interview.
During the 88th Academy Awards that same year, host Chris Rock called Dash onstage and announced her as the director of the Academy’s fictional “minority outreach program.” Dash wished the audience a “Happy Black History Month” in the awkward appearance that left many feeling confused.
7 What else has she acted in?
After playing Dionne in Clueless, the actress went on to act in the Clueless TV series and Sharknado 4: The 4th Awakens, among other movies.
Although celebrities have run for political office before, it’s still unusual to see an actor make this drastic a career change. We’ll be watching Dash’s campaign to see how it unfolds.

Dash, who became famous playing Dionne Davenport in the hit 1995 film Clueless, works out four to five days a week, combining cardio exercises such as running and light weightlifting.
“I try to eat clean,” Stacey told Latina magazine. Dash sometimes posts excerpts from her gym sessions on Instagram, where she’s shown doing calisthenics and strength-training.
Sunscreen And Moisturizer
Stacey’s anti-aging beauty routine includes drinking plenty of water and using sunscreen, moisturizer, and eye cream to prevent wrinkles.
“I do eye cream and sunscreen every day,” Dash said. “Even if you’ve got olive skin, or brown skin, you still need sunscreen. I drink a lot of water. I work out.”
Stacey, an outspoken conservative, exudes an uncanny strength in her interviews and TV appearances but overcame a tough childhood marred by sexual abuse, drug addiction, and domestic violence.

Stacey continued: “I do eye cream and sunscreen every day. Even if you’ve got olive skin, or brown skin, you still need sunscreen. I drink a lot of water. I work out.”
The super-fit Dash said it’s important to maintain a constant weight and have a youthful attitude that embraces new experiences and change.
Stacey, now a conservative darling, grew up on the rough streets of the Bronx, New York.
Dash has been slammed by liberals for her refreshingly honest political views, and said her tough upbringing shaped her into the strong woman she is today.
Stacey Dash shares her secrets to fame, success and happiness in her forthcoming book, There Goes My Social Life: From Clueless to Conservative, which comes out in June.

A scene from the 2014 Hallmark Channel movie When Sparks Fly. 2014 Crown Media/Diyah Perra
Before Meghan Markle was ready to join the English monarchy, she was almost Hollywood royalty…but not quite. Despite Suits somehow becoming the second highest rated scripted show on television (Game of Thrones came in first), she never became a household name.
In her eternal quest for fame, Markle did become known for her now-defunct lifestyle blog, The Tig, but that wasn’t her sole focus. After appearing on General Hospital in 2002, she had blink-and-you’ll-miss-it roles in everything from The League to the Beverly Hills 90210 reboot. During that pre-engagement era, Markle was a bonafide member of the “Who-niverse,” a term for D-list celebrities coined by Bobby Finger and Lindsey Weber, the podcasters behind “Who? Weekly.”
Here, we’ve ranked Markle’s best acting roles throughout the years, including her Deal or No Deal cameo and an appearance in not one, but two Hallmark Channel movies. Unfortunately, Suits did not make the cut. Sure, it might be her most notable role, but it’s nowhere near as entertaining—or regrettable—as her Tostitos commercial.
10. Random Encounters
In this 2013 rom-com, Markle plays the sassy best friend who doles out advice like, “You still could have given him your number!” and “You could have offered to pay for his dry cleaning!” Hopefully, she’ll have more intelligent words of wisdom for Princess Charlotte and Prince George one day.
9. Remember Me
In Remember Me, Markle makes a cameo as “Megan” a bartender who sparks up a conversation with Tyler (Robert Pattinson) and Tyler’s best friend Tate (played by Aidan Hall). If Tate looks familiar, it’s likely you recognize him from his recurring role on Shameless. When Megan rejects Tate, Tyler reassures him, “that’s how people act when they’re really into you.” Markle’s ex-husband, Trevor Engelson, was the movie’s producer.
In a departure from her usual romantic comedies, Markle stars alongside Bella Thorne‘s ex-boyfriend, Gregg Sulkin, in this 2015 crime flick. Markle plays a woman dating “an artist…a street artist” who wears a lot of hoodies and has a “rebellious edge,” at least according to the trailer.
7. When Sparks Fly
In Markle’s second-best Hallmark Channel movie, she stars as Amy Peterson, “a big city journalist” living in Chicago who’s “sent back to her small hometown to write a Fourth of July story and discovers the life and love she left behind.” Because the love of her life happens to be engaged to her best friend, plenty of made-for-TV hijinks ensue. Critics did not love the rom-com, awarding it a whopping 14 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.
6. The Dater’s Handbook
Markle’s (objectively) best Hallmark Channel movie (it has a 27 percent on Rotten Tomatoes), follows a single woman “trying to change” how she chooses relationships…by using a checklist. In The Dater’s Handbook, Markle attempts to find love until ultimately realizing “the man she wants is the one who loves her for who she is.” Would Prince Harry have checked all the boxes?
5. The League
In 2009, Markle made a 56-second appearance in The League, playing a woman that Mark Duplass (Pete Eckhart) attempts to pick up at a bar during his separation. In a true-to-life moment, Markle’s unnamed character says she doesn’t like the term “divorcée” because “it ages us a little bit.” She also admits to hating magic.
4. Dysfunctional Friends
In this independent film from 2012, “nine estranged friends are reunited after their larger than life friend unexpectedly dies.” Wearing a decidedly un-royal boho-chic ensemble, Markle plays a snarky photographer who takes pictures of a man obsessed with showing off his manhood. Of course, the movie’s actual star is Stacey Dash of Clueless fame. Dash plays Lisa, a character embroiled in some kind of love triangle. For $2.99, you can experience the magic of Markle and Dash on Amazon.
3. Beverly Hills 90210 (The Reboot)
For Markle’s nonspeaking cameo on the CW reboot of Beverly Hills 90210, the future royal wore some Snooki-era strapless dresses and had sexual relations in an SUV. Despite how brief her appearance was, this car scene goes down in infamy as her “raunchiest” err…performance (?) to date.
2. Deal or No Deal
Markle’s turn as a Deal or No Deal briefcase model was truly memorable, mostly thanks to her cheerleader-worthy excitement over opening a $5 winning case. Chrissy Teigen was also a Deal or No Deal model.
1. Tostitos Commercial
In her absolute best role to date, Markle appeared in a 2009 Tostitos commercial with a voice-over (that definitely isn’t her voice). In the iconic clip, the actress contemplates the number of ingredients in a bag of chips and a man named Gary who likes to wear short shorts. Hopefully, the royal family will play this clip as a part of her wedding video.
See it: Stacey Dash explains she starred in ‘Clueless’ during arrest
Don’t you know who she is?
Newly released police body camera footage shows actress Stacey Dash being arrested for domestic violence Sunday — and having to explain to the cop that she’s an actress who starred in the film “Clueless” as she was led away.
“What are you doing?” Dash asks through sniffles as a Pasco County police officer instructs her to turn around and cuffs her in the video.
“I’ll tell you in a second, I’m just detaining you for right now,” the officer tells the Bronx native before leading her to his patrol car.
“Am I being arrested?” the 52-year-old continued, dressed in nothing but an oversized T-shirt and flip flops.
Dash, famed for playing Dionne Davenport in the hit 1995 movie, was busted on domestic battery charges in New Port Richey after she allegedly pushed and scratched her lawyer husband, Jeffrey Marty.
The victim was not identified by cops, but TMZ confirmed it was Marty — a man she married last year, just 10 days after they met.
In the video the officer can be heard making small talk with Dash, asking what she does for work.
“I’m an actress,” a cuffed Dash responds. “I did a film called ‘Clueless.’ ”
When he asks if she’s in any television shows right now, Dash says she is “taking a break.”
“I did politics for a while. I was a Fox News contributor,” she says.
According to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office complaint, Dash “pushed the victim and scratched him in the face.”
“The victim sustained red scratch marks to his left upper arm from being pushed,” the complaint read.
Dash was taken to the Land O’Lakes detention center and released on a $500 bond. She was arrested “without further incident,” according to the complaint.
The actress married Marty just days after she withdrew her campaign for Congress in California, where she wanted to “free people from the shackles of a plantation mentality.”
