What Happened to Jackie Warner from Bravo’s ‘Workout?’
Jackie Warner June 9, 2012 in New York City.
Fabulous fitness star, Jackie Warner was in the center of it all during the dawn of reality show mania. The tough-talking trainer with a sweet side from the hit Bravo show Workout dominated the network from 2006 to 2008.
Workout may have created the blueprint for just about every subsequent Bravo show to come. Include a strong, alluring leader, (Warner) and add in a cast of characters (trainers and clients) to deliver the perfect blend of drama and sex appeal. The show exploded and carried an enormous fan base. Warner even launched a workout video that featured four cast member trainers.
Warner’s business seemed boundless, as she opened a specialty boutique fitness center, Sky Sport and Spa. However, Warner’s glitter faded after she talked smack about a client who was a breast cancer survivor. Gatorade dropped the show as a sponsor and Bravo ditched her after three seasons, The Globe and Mail reports. Bravo struggled with season four, only including one of Warner’s trainers and it flopped. Clearly, Warner was the secret sauce that kept Workout sizzling.
Warner insists this was really going on
She was indignant and protective about her reputation after Bravo canceled Workout. “My image is not damaged,” she told The Globe and Mail. “I’m the top third trainer. I’m working with Sears right now. I had a bestselling book. Fifteen weeks on The New York Times bestseller list.”
“I have another two-book deal now. I’ve got four DVDs that are No. 1 wherever they sell,” she added. I am in magazines four times a month every single month consecutively. My image is not damaged.”
Warner says the Bravo executive who she trusted most went on maternity leave and the producer left in charge “disliked me very much.” She had no control over the editing.
Warner tried another fitness show
Bravo canceled Workout but cast Warner a new show that closely resembled another show gaining traction called The Biggest Loser. Warner’s show, Thintervention would film on one condition. “I said if I ever do another show with you I have to executive produce it and edit it,” Warner told The Globe and Mail.
The show, debuted in September 2010, featured a number of people hoping to drop some pounds. Even Jeanna Keogh from The Real Housewives of Orange County was a contestant. PopSugar featured the gist from a Bravo press release about the show: “Each episode of the one hour series will feature a grueling workout with Warner pushing her clients to their emotional and physical limits, a therapy session to get to the root of their weight issues, and a life lesson in nutrition such as grocery shopping or surprise raids of their home kitchens.”
Although fitness reality shows were ramping up, Thintervention only lasted one season and averaged 810,000 viewers.
But then she walked away for good

Bravo reported on Warner in 2015 after she experienced a lengthy hiatus from reality TV. She updated fans on her (now defunct) website. She sold her tony gym, Sky Sport and Spa and was raw and open about the past few years. “To be honest, I felt a bit lost and started partying a lot. It felt like I was taking a few steps backward in life and I started making bad decisions.”
She quit drinking and dating for a year, plus she cut out a just about everyone in her life. She also stuck to her workouts. “My new mantra is ‘when in doubt, go workout,’” she wrote. “When I was super lonely, I went to the gym. When I wanted to drink, I went to the gym.” She also revealed in 2015 she was undergoing fertility treatments and hoped to have a baby someday. She also dealt with tragedy as one of her former trainers, Greg Plitt was killed when he was hit by a train.
Then life took a darker turn
Warner was arrested in February 2017 for felony assault with a deadly weapon, Hollywood Life reports. She went out to lunch, had a martini and took an Uber home. However, she got into her car and drove it into a pole in West Hollywood. Apparently, she tried to reverse the vehicle, almost hitting an LA County Sheriff’s Deputy. She was arrested at 5:45 pm, wearing no pants and only underwear. Her blood alcohol registered at 08, which is just at the legal limit for California.
Warner claims she woke up in the hospital and remembers nothing, according to Hollywood Life. She also asserts after she returned home from lunch, she took an Ambien and woke up in the hospital, TMZ reports.
Her attorney managed to score a great plea deal and Warner swore off all sleep mediation for good, TMZ reports. She says she takes responsibility for being on the sleep medication and it was a wake-up call to get off all meds. Also, she feels better and thankful to be alive. She acknowledged the aggressiveness coming from the police. And said while in her jail cell she thinks if she were a young black man, she would have been shot instead.
Where is Warner today?

Get ready to find your strong, find your sexy and find yourself!!!!! Preorder will be coming soon!
Warner seems to be enjoying life. She turned 50 in August and celebrated with friends. “Turned 50 on Sunday! 🎉 Don’t be fooled by my RBF 😜 I am so happy and ready for all the amazing blessings already coming my way this year,” she wrote on Instagram. She also became an aunt to Avery the same month.
Warner also hinted that more books and videos were forthcoming. “Get ready to find your strong, find your sexy and find yourself!!!!! Preorder will be coming soon!” she posted on Instagram. She replied to comments and said, “I have four super big projects I was working on last year. I can now focus fully on books, workouts and teaching people how a positive body/mind connection is quickly and effectively life changing x”
When a fan asked when the book would be ready, she replied, “Can you wait til sept 2? My new 20/20 diet/exercise/supplement program is coming! If not than my first book This is Why You’re Fat. Is amazing all around food and fitness).”

Fitness star Jackie Warner reaches plea deal in DUI case: ‘Nothing she did that day was conscious’
Celebrity fitness trainer Jackie Warner agreed to a plea bargain Wednesday after prosecutors lowered the pending charges against her to a single misdemeanor count, allowing her to avoid time behind bars.
Warner, 48, pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor count of alcohol-related reckless driving, also known as “wet reckless,” the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office confirmed.
A judge sentenced her to a two-year probation term and ordered her to complete a 12-hour drinking and driving program.
A source close to Warner who was not authorized to speak publicly said she had taken Ambien, the sleeping medication, and woke up in police custody with no recollection of what happened.
Prosecutors said on Feb. 24, Warner smashed her car into an electric pole near Hacienda Place and Holloway Drive in West Hollywood. Next, she drove to a 7-Eleven store, where a Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy tried to take her into custody.
Prosecutors said she reversed her vehicle toward the deputy and crashed into a sheriff’s patrol car.
She was originally charged with a felony count of assault upon a peace officer and three misdemeanor counts: driving under the influence, driving with a .08% blood-alcohol content and hit-and-run driving, prosecutors said. She faced as many as six years in prison if convicted.
On Wednesday, the original charges were dropped and Warner pleaded to the new, lesser charge.
“Nothing she did that day was conscious,” said her defense attorney, Shawn Holley. “I feel that we would have prevailed at trial, but I understand the reasons she wanted to accept the D.A.’s offer and move forward with her life.”
From 2006 to 2008, Warner starred on the Bravo docu-soap “Work Out,” followed by another Bravo show, “Thintervention.” She has also published diet and fitness books and was a part-owner of a Beverly Hills gym.
What Ever Happened to Jackie Warner?
Looking back at our shows, we often wonder about the people who’ve left. Where did they go when their moment in the Bravo spotlight was over? What are they up to now? Each week, we’ll be looking into the lives of one of these familiar faces. Today, it’s Jackie Warner from Work Out and Thintervention.
Hard-bodied gym owner and personal trainer-to-the-stars Jackie Warner chronicled her tough-as-nails approach to fitness as well as her drama-filled relationships with women on Work Out for three seasons. But after starring on the show from 2006 to 2008, she left amid controversy she’d created after she made unkind comments about a fitness model and breast cancer survivor who was working out in her gym.
Work Out continued on for one more season without Jackie, and two years later, she was back on Bravo starring on another body-conscious show: Thintervention. But leading up to and during its single-season run, Jackie was growing increasingly unhappy with her life.
She sold her Beverly Hills gym, Sky Sports and Spa, and decided to swear off reality TV as she “fell into crisis,” she writes on her new website. “To be honest, I felt a bit lost and started partying a lot. It felt like I was taking a few steps backward in life and I started making bad decisions.”
“I looked in the mirror one morning and realized that I did not like the person that I had become,” she adds. “I could no longer hide the fact that MY decisions were causing me unhappiness.”
Jackie realized she needed to accept responsibility for her actions and devise a plan to pull herself out of her misery. “I quit drinking for a year and I quit dating for a year,” she continues, adding that she prayed for guidance every morning and night and cut “almost everyone” out of her life including friends, business partners, managers, lawyers. She also started writing poetry, painting and even making music (she released Valkyrie, a five-song EP of dance music, in December 2014).
Slowly, it worked. “My new mantra is ‘when in doubt, go workout,'” she writes. “When I was super lonely, I went to the gym. When I wanted to drink, I went to the gym.” She also published two fitness and diet books—2010’s This Is Why You’re Fat (And How to Get Thin Forever) and 2012’s 10 Pounds in 10 Days: The Secret Celebrity Program for Losing Weight Fast—which both became New York Times best sellers.
In early 2015, 46-year-old Jackie opened up on her blog about her desire to become a mom. Although she no longer speaks openly about her love life, she has revealed she’s been undergoing fertility treatments for the last two years in hopes of getting pregnant. When the hormones caused her to pack on 20 lbs. and upped her weight to 150 lbs., it inspired her to develop a new workout that’s helped her shave 10 lbs. off her frame, leaving her with a remarkable 7 percent body fat.

In January, tragedy struck: Jackie’s Work Out costar, fitness model and trainer Greg Plitt, was struck and killed by a train in January 2015, and she was devastated. “Greg was a living example of health & strength. He lives on in our hearts & minds,” she tweeted in tribute. “He was beautiful on the inside & out.”
Now, Jackie is preparing to release her third book: This Is Why You’re Sick and Tired (And How to Look and Feel Amazing) comes out on April 28, 2015. She has high hopes for its success. “Just like me, you can reinvent yourself,” she writes on her website, “and learn to fall deeply in love with yourself.”

Jackie Is Lesbian, Who Is Girlfriend?
It’s not a new thing to notice that Jackie is openly lesbian. And, it shouldn’t also be new that she has a long list of lesbian girlfriends.
Her first girlfriend was Milenna Saraiva a.k.a Mimi. The two had been together for four years when they appeared on the first season of Work Out in 2006. Jackie and Mimi parted ways at the end of the season. But they remained on good terms.

After Mimi, Jackie got romantically involved with trainer Rebecca Cardon in 2007. Rebecca was in a relationship with her boyfriend at the time. But, she was attracted to Jackie and even claimed her as her ‘soul mate.’

It was in the third season of Work Out when Jackie introduced her new girlfriend, Brianna Stockton. They were in a live-in relationship but broke up shortly after. When talking to After Ellen in 2010, Jackie opened up about her current relationship with her past girlfriends. She revealed that she wasn’t that close with Brianna.
As of now, the fitness guru is single, or maybe she’s too good at hiding her affair. She opened up about her desire to get married and start a family in 2015. But, it is unfulfilled till date.
Arrested Of Felony Assault
On 24 February 2017, Jackie was arrested on a charge of felony assault with a deadly weapon that sprung from a car wreck. She smashed her car into a pole and was taken into police custody in West Hollywood. When the police arrived at the scene, Jackie backed up into a squad car. That action almost hit a deputy, who jumped out of the way.
The Work Out star apparently had one martini on lunch. She went home and took a pill of sedative Ambien before going to sleep. When she woke up later in the hospital, Jackie had no recollection of the accident. Some sources suggested that she was sleep-driving because she was only wearing her underwear during the arrest.
However, the law enforcement officers claim that the fitness star took a Breathalyzer test, that showed she was legally drunk. The analysis showed 0.08% of blood alcohol concentration. And, the California law states that it is illegal to use a vehicle with a BAC of 0.08% or higher. Jackie was bailed out of the jail only on $60,000.

Is that an 8-pack?
You watched her whip people into shape on Thintervention. Now celebrity trainer Jackie Warner is sharing her flat ab diet and exercise secrets with SheKnows and teaching us five moves to get a sexy stomach for summer!
Her sixpack secrets:
Jackie Warner’s ab are the envy of all of her fellow celebrity trainers. “It’s been said that I have the best abs in the business,” Warner said when we met up with her for a sweat session at rooftop gym, Sky Sport and Spa. Warner has trained celebs like Alanis Morissette and recently created a free workout DVD for people suffering from psoriasis, Fit in Your Skin. But it’s Warner’s own famously chiseled physique that we are interested in. With beach season rapidly approaching, Warner shares her tips for a sexy stomach and five sure-fire moves to get that sixpack.
Clean up your diet
“Abs are 75 percent diet,” says Warner. “You have to clean up your diet. Cut out processed foods. You don’t want to eat factory-farmed meats. You want to eat organic fruits and vegetables.”
Drink a lot of water
“You want to drink three liters of water a day,” Warner tells us. “It boosts your metabolism by 33 percent. You’re going to find that you’ll be able to see the musculature in your abdominal region if you just drink a lot of water.”
What are 5 foods you recommend for a flat-ab diet?
- Free-range chicken
Ditch the crunches
“I’ve always said crunches are a waste of time,” says Warner. “They’re the slowest way to actually build the abdominals. You need to really be working the upper, lower and the obliques. I like doing crunch-free abdominal work.”
Strenghten your core
“I love free weight training,” Warner says. “Better than any crunches or sit-ups, a regular ‘man-style’ push-up or squat is the best way to get good abdominals.”
Warner’s pump-up playlist hosts Sonic Youth, Prodigy, Madonna, Florence and the Machine, and Radiohead.
Watch Jackie’s flat-ab workout:
“First of all, women are attracted to strength. So I’m going to be attractive to women, straight or gay. And then there’s enough femininity in me, we could go get our nails done. We could have great girl talk. We could go shopping. I love that too. So there’s sisterhood and admiration for my career and my body. This body at 42 is not easy to have.”
Jackie Warner delivers this statement about why straight women get “girl crushes” on her – a gay fitness star – as if reporting to a board about a company’s annual results. One leg is crooked over the other as she sits across from me in a downtown Toronto café. A hand is on her hip. No smile. She shruggingly accepts the idea of her sexual attractiveness as though she has lived with it so long, it’s as normal as the oatmeal she eats every morning.
She treats her ego like just another body part she has worked hard to tone and is eager to show off. She is not interested in making any apology for the controversy that shut down her popular reality show, Work Out, which followed her behind-the-scenes life in her Los Angeles gym – including her love life. In 2008, during the third season on Bravo, she was portrayed as having criticized the physique (okay, the breasts) of Jamie Eason, a fitness model and breast-cancer survivor who worked out at Ms. Warner’s gym. Gatorade dropped their sponsorship of the show. Bravo subsequently cancelled it.

Now, with a new reality show on Bravo, Thintervention, a knockoff of NBC’s The Biggest Loser, she is making a comeback, doing the publicity rounds to promote the show and her line of workout DVDs.
Not that she thinks she had anything to overcome.
“My image is not damaged,” she retorts, scowling from beneath her baseball cap, when asked if she thought carefully about how to resurrect her image. “I don’t know if you know about me in America.” She sits back, a vision of casual disregard in her hoodie, cotton pants and running shoes.
“But in America, I’m the top third trainer. I’m working with Sears right now. I had a bestselling book. Fifteen weeks on The New York Times bestseller list,” she says, referring to her self-improvement guide This Is Why You’re Fat (And How to Get Thin Forever): Eat More, Cheat More, Lose More – and Keep the Weight Off.
“I have another two-book deal now. I’ve got four DVDs that are No. 1 wherever they sell. I am in magazines four times a month every single month consecutively,” she says, pausing to take a breath. “My image is not damaged.”
She blames the show-canning on a producer “who disliked me very much” and the absence of a trusted executive at Bravo who was on maternity leave. “I had no control of editing or anything” she protests. Nevertheless, she pitched the network on Thintervention. “I said if I ever do another show with you I have to executive produce it and edit it.”
Shifting in her chair, waiting for the next question with an impish look on her face, she drinks her chamomile tea like it’s a shot of whisky. What does she feel when people accuse her of being narcissistic?
Story continues below advertisement
“There’s a big difference between narcissism and egocentricity. I am not a narcissist at all but I am egocentric. I’ve always created a world where everyone and everything revolves around me.” Which accounts for her sexuality, she confesses languidly, adding that she is newly single again. “I can have no make-up on and my hair is a mess,” she says, flicking at her blond wispy hair under her hat. “And I will have five people hit on me. It’s about inner energy.”
She began life in Ohio with a troubled childhood. Her parents were both mentally ill, she says; her father committed suicide when she was 18. She set off to Los Angeles to study fashion but quit when she realized she wasn’t passionate about it. Next came a series of odd jobs – working in a boiler room, selling aluminum siding door to door, marketing for a cellular company, acting as an assistant audience co-ordinator for the briefly popular Susan Powter Show and writing scripts for Warner Bros. At 30, she wanted a career change and took up fitness training when friends suggested she would be good at it.
“If you look at my bio, you’ll see I made a million by 21, lost it, made it again, made it and lost it three times. Now I’m keeping it,” she offers in her blasé manner. “It’s not luck. It’s what I have created for myself” she says of her success. She charges $400 (U.S.) an hour to exercise with celebrities, none of whom she will name. (She currently rents a Malibu house for $7,500 a month to be near a “very famous” client whom she trains five times a week.)
The hard lesson of the Work Out fiasco was to not divulge too much about her private life, she offers. “If anything, I’ve learned to be a little more careful with myself and a little more guarded and professional.”
A few seconds later, I ask if she’s still eager to have children, something she discussed at length on Work Out. “Oh yes, of course. My doctor says I have the uterus of a 28-year-old.”
