Who Is Kaley Cuoco?
Born in California in 1985, actress Kaley Cuoco had her first taste of TV success with the family sitcom 8 Simple Rules in 2002. Five years later, she launched the next phase of her career with The Big Bang Theory, which became one of television’s most beloved comedies. Cuoco has also appeared in such films as Hop (2011) and The Wedding Ringer (2015).

Early Life and Career
Kaley Christine Cuoco was born on November 30, 1985, in Camarillo, California, to parents Layne Ann Wingate and Gary Carmine Cuoco. She has a younger sister, Briana.
Cuoco started working at a young age. She took up modeling as a child, and her first acting gigs were in commercials. Before long, Cuoco graduated to television work. She landed guest spots on such series as Northern Exposure, 7th Heaven and My So-Called Life, and made an appearance in the film Picture Perfect. Because of her career, Cuoco was homeschooled. She told People magazine that “I’ve never been to a regular high school.”
‘8 Simple Rules,’ ‘Charmed’
Cuoco scored her first major role when she was still a teen. She starred with John Ritter and Katey Sagal in the family sitcom 8 Simple Rules, which debuted in 2002. Cuoco played one of Ritter and Sagal’s teenage daughters, while Amy Davidson and Martin Spanjers were her siblings on the show. The series managed to go on after the sudden death of Ritter in 2003, addressing the loss of his character in its second season. Around the time 8 Simple Rules ended in 2005, Cuoco moved to another popular TV show. She joined the cast of the supernatural series Charmed for its eighth season as Billie Jenkins.
‘The Big Bang Theory’
In 2007 Cuoco debuted in her role as Penny on The Big Bang Theory. The sitcom focused on geeky roommates Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and Leonard (Johnny Galecki), and their fellow genius friends Howard (Simon Helberg) and Raj (Kunal Nayyar). Cuoco played Sheldon and Leonard’s friendly, non-intellectual neighbor who becomes Leonard’s love interest. The chemistry between Cuoco and Galecki was so strong that the pair were a real-life couple for a time. With its collection of offbeat characters and its sharp writing, the show soon won over legions of viewers.
Initially, Cuoco was the only female among her co-stars. Later Melissa Rauch and Mayim Bialik joined the cast. In 2014 Cuoco, along with Parsons and Galecki, negotiated an impressive salary increase. The trio signed one of TV’s biggest deals to earn each of them $1 million per episode. Cuoco told Redbook magazine that “it’s so comforting to know that I’ll be able to take care of my family and parents, because without them, none of this would have happened.”
Cuoco appeared as Penny for the final time on May 16, 2019, when The Big Bang Theory bowed after 12 seasons and 279 episodes.
Films: ‘Hop,’ ‘The Wedding Ringer,’ ‘Alvin and the Chipmunks’
Committed to her successful sitcom, Cuoco made limited film appearances during the years The Big Bang Theory was on the air. She played one of the flesh and blood characters of the live action-animated hybrid Hop (2011) and enjoyed prominent roles in the indie films Authors Anonymous (2014) and Burning Bodhi (2015). Cuoco also co-starred in the critically panned but commercially successful comedy The Wedding Ringer (2015), and provided voice work for Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip (2015) and Why Him? (2016).
Marriages and Personal Life
Cuoco married professional tennis player Ryan Sweeting on December 31, 2013, but they announced they were divorcing in September 2015. The actress subsequently began dating pro equestrian Karl Cook, and the two married on June 30, 2018, at a horse stable near San Diego, California.
Like her husband, Cuoco is an avid horse rider. She is also a former nationally ranked amateur tennis player.
A proponent of animal adoption, Cuoco in the summer of 2018 teamed with the rescue shelter Paw Works and her stylist to design a sock emblazoned with the motto “Adopt. Don’t Shop,” with proceeds going to community animal programs. At the time, the actress said she had adopted three dogs, two rabbits and seven professional show horses.

Cook proposed to Cuoco on her 32nd birthday in November 2017 after nearly two years of dating. He posted a video on Instagram showing Cuoco’s tearful reaction to the proposal.
Who knew my prior post was oracular. Well after nearly two years I finally got up the courage to ask her to marry me. This is the best night of my life and I think the video shows it is the best night for kaley as well…..if she said yes!!!!!
The actress was previously married to tennis player Ryan Sweeting. Sweeting and Cuoco got engaged after three months of dating, married in December 2013, and announced their divorce in 2015.
She told Cosmopolitan in April that she thought she’d never get married again after her relationship with Sweeting.
“I honestly thought I wouldn’t get married again,” she said. “My ex ruined that word for me.”
But meeting Cook changed all of that.
Congrats to the happy couple.

Cuoco, 33, and Cook, 28, aren’t alone in the unusual living arrangement. Gwyneth Paltrow told In Style she and her husband, Brad Falchuk, are only now getting ready to live together, even though they married last September.
“Married life has been really good. We took a year to let everybody (in the family) take it in and let the dust settle. And now we’re moving in together this month,” Paltrow shared.

Cuoco admitted she and Cook, who tied the knot last year, aren’t exactly traditional.
“We have a very unconventional marriage, you know, we have different locations that we’re at a lot,” she said. “You know, we’re not together every single day and I think, personally, it’s important, it works well for us. If we want to Instagram shame each other, Instagram shame each other. It just makes life really fun.”
“He loves his Instagram posts. He’s his biggest fan,” she added laughing.
Cook has a reputation for being a joker on the social media platform, often posting funny shots and videos of Cuoco.
Cuoco and Cook, a champion equestrian, may not live together and have fun teasing each other on Instagram, so it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that the actress is casual about their finances.
“I don’t need Karl for anything,” she told Women’s Health last year. “If Karl left me tomorrow, I’d be fine. And he knows that, and he would be fine too.”

“The Big Bang Theory” actor Kaley Cuoco has responded to rumors that she’s expecting a baby, criticizing insensitive individuals for leaving prying comments on her Instagram profile.
Cuoco and her husband Karl Cook are currently on their honeymoon in Switzerland, having tied the knot on June 30 this year.

While many people have left comments underneath the photo wishing the couple well, others have been nosily focusing their attention on whether or not Cuoco appears to be pregnant.
“Are you hiding a baby bump?!?!” one person wrote, with another asking: “When’s the baby due??”
Cuoco decided to respond directly to the inconsiderate comments, highlighting the way in which many people often express themselves differently on the Internet than they would in real life.
“I’m so sorry I bent over in a way to where my dress billowed in the wind and made you think this,” she wrote on her Instagram story in reference to the comments, according to People magazine.

Female celebrities are frequently plagued with rumors concerning whether or not they’re pregnant, something that actress Jennifer Aniston addressed in an essay written for HuffPost in 2016.

“The objectification and scrutiny we put women through is absurd and
Actor Lili Reinhart, who stars in high school drama “Riverdale,” also addressed pregnancy rumors in early 2018 after fans postulated that she may be expecting a baby.
“It’s unfortunate that one unflattering photo of my stomach circulating the Internet causes hundreds of people to think that I’m pregnant,” she wrote on her Instagram story, according to Glamour magazine.
“Nope. Not pregnant. This is just my body. And sometimes I’m bloated.
“Sometimes an unflattering photo is taken of me. Sometimes I go through periods of time where I gain weight.”
Shortly after her wedding to Cook, Cuoco had to undergo shoulder surgery that had been planned a year in advance.
When your ‘honeymoon’ is shoulder surgery and your husband looks just as happy lol on the road to recovery – thank you for all the love and support! ❤️ knowing @mrtankcook I’m sure he will be posting tons of hilarious gems 🙄🤪 thank god my hair color is on point (@clarissanya)
Following the operation, she posted a photo of herself in a hospital bed on Instagram alongside her husband.

Did we miss anyone?
Kaley Cuoco is about as transparent as Hollywood gets. The Big Bang Theory actress has no problem being candid when it comes to how much she hates running, her experiences with plastic surgery, or her romantic relationships. Plus, she’ll be the first to tell you that her body (those abs!!!) did NOT come easy.
Eric Ray Davidson
“I tried spinning, I tried running, I tried yoga, I tried Pilates,” she tells WomensHealthMag.com in an exclusive behind-the-scenes interview at her cover shoot for our December issue. “I realized I don’t like running…I refuse to do it. I like spinning, so I try to mix that in. When I found hot yoga, I fell in love with it and was like, this is my thing.”

Though the 31-year-old loves her CorePower Yoga classes, she admits that she doesn’t necessarily jump out of bed to do it every day. “Sometimes do I want to get up in the morning and do it?” she says. “No. But when I get out, I feel like a million bucks.” As for her other fave workouts? Kaley is super-passionate about horses. (That’s how she and pro equestrian boyfriend, Karl Cook, first bonded!). Horseback riding is way more physical than most people realize, she adds.
Those workouts are sure to torch calories, but abs like Kaley’s are often made in the kitchen.
“When I wake up, I have the same little bit of peanut butter on toast every morning,” she says. For lunch, she’ll grab half of a sandwich, and when it comes to dinner, Kaley says she’ll eat fish, such as salmon, and vegetables. As for the rest of the animal kingdom? “No more meat, I’m like, done,” she says. And like the rest of us, she also gets late-night cravings. When those hunger pangs hit, she curbs them with a healthy snack, like an apple and peanut butter.

Another way she stays healthy and happy: Indulging her cravings from time to time. “Tonight I’ll be going to In-N-Out and doing one of their grilled cheeses, massive fries, and a shake,” she says. “That’d be a cheat for me.”
All splurges aside, Kaley isn’t afraid to admit that she has to work hard to stay fit. “Bottom line is, you know, I’m not 21 anymore,” she says. “It used to be so easy, I didn’t have to do as much. Now, it’s part of my day—working out is part of my day, eating right is part of my day.”
We couldn’t resist asking Kaley if she’d be up for a game of “Would You Rather” at our shoot. (Obviously, she was in.) Check out her answers to questions below:

Kaley Cuoco: ‘Big Bang Theory’ Made Science ‘Kind of Sexy’
Kaley Cuoco recognizes that it’s no easy feat to get a television show pilot on air. And it’s probably no surprise that getting a show picked up for an additional 10 seasons isn’t any easier.
In a conversation with Anthony Anderson as part of Variety’s “Actors on Actors” series, Cuoco discussed Penny, the character she’s been playing on “The Big Bang Theory” for the past 10 years.
“We know better than anyone,” she said to Anderson. “It’s hard to do a pilot, let alone get picked up for a season, let alone keep going.”
She gave a nod to the consistently funny writing by show creator Chuck Lorre.
“They were the underdogs from day one, and people fell quickly in love with them and wanted them to win, wanted them to do well,” she said.
Another thing that helps? The friendly chemistry between the cast is real. Added Cuoco, “We really like each other.”
The dynamic between these otherwise geeky and socially awkward geniuses leaves the audience rooting for the characters, she added.
“They fell in love early on with these four guys and wanted them to get the girl, wanted them to get the job, and it made science kind of sexy,” she said.
Even with the show’s acclaim, Cuoco recognized the rarity of such prolonged success.
“Every single day, we’re shocked when we look at ratings,” Cuoco said. “We’re shocked that the people still want to see us. We love being there and you know, I don’t ever want it to end, but you know how it is.”
The interview will air in its entirety on Variety’s “” Season 6, presented by , which premieres Tuesday on PBS SoCal.
Kaley Cuoco hasn’t spoken to The Big Bang Theory cast (Picture: Getty / Instagram)
Kaley Cuoco has admitted she still hasn’t spoken to her The Big Bang Theory co-stars since the sitcom came to an end back in May.
The 33-year-old starred as Penny for 12 seasons of the CBS comedy, while the cast were one of the tightest going with endless supportive social media posts, and buckets of tears flooding their lives for the past year as they geared up to say goodbye.
However, three months since Raj (played by Kunal Nayyar) met actual Buffy, Sheldon (Jim Parsons) won his Nobel prize and Penny and Leonard (Johnny Galecki) announced they were expecting a baby, The Big Bang Theory lot are keeping their distance – despite Jim Parsons insisting the cast’s WhatsApp group is still ‘going strong’.
‘You know what, I haven’t really talked to anyone,’ Kaley told People. ‘This feels like a summer hiatus for us, so we all go off in our own directions. I think it’s going to hit us all more in September, when we would normally .’
However, the actress has been non-stop since waving goodbye to Penny and the gang, and her next role couldn’t be further from the family-friendly comedy as she embraces her potty-mouth to voice Batman villain Harley Quinn.
Naturally, after Margot Robbie’s take on the crazed Suicide Squad siren, Kaley was apprehensive because her recognisable voice is a million miles away from the Harley Quinn we’ve become accustomed to.
Kaley’s next role as Harley Quinn couldn’t be farther from Penny (Picture: DC/Kaley Cuoco/ Instagram)
‘I was getting a little bit nervous that the true Harley fans would be like — because she’s very New Jersey-ish, New York, Chicago,’ she continued.
‘And that’s not me. So I knew people would know my voice right away. So I’m like, ‘I’m not going to try and be someone that I’m not. It’s going to be my voice on crack.’
‘That’s what we decided early on … and I think we’ve accomplished the Kaley Cuoco voice on crack. That’s going to be a whole new thing.’
The Big Bang Theory is available to stream on Netflix while Kaley’s Harley Quinn series is expected to air later this year.
