A pregnant Kim Kardashian revealed the secret product she’s using to prevent pregnancy related stretch marks. Dr. Simon Ourian, Medical Director of Epione Beverly Hills, offers his stretch mark removal advice.

Celebrity Stretch Marks

“I just typed ‘celebrity stretch marks’ into Google,” says Dr. Ourian, “and there are unflattering photos of Lady Gaga, Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears. And that’s just the first page of results!”

More than a few models and actresses visit Dr. Ourian’s Beverly Hills clinic and stretch marks are one of the items at the top of their list of concerns. “Fans expect these celebrities to be flawless,” continues Dr. Ourian, “and within the controlled environment of a photo shoot or movie set perfection is possible. It’s the job of directors, photographers, lighting people and makeup artists to hide their flaws. And in the end there’s always Photoshop.” The problem for celebrities today is that there are paparazzi and websites devoted solely to photographing them in the most unflattering light.

Crash Dieting

Crash dieting by models and actresses, sometimes post-pregnancy, to achieve what they consider their ideal weight accounts for most of the rapid weight loss related stretch marks Dr. Ourian sees with his celebrity clientele. Dr. Ourian would never advise a client to undertake an unhealthy weight loss regimen but celebrities, today more than ever, face enormous pressure to look a certain way and they will take shortcuts if necessary.

Why We Get Stretch Marks

Putting the body under too much stress by losing weight rapidly may cause gaps to appear in the skin as the result of stretching or tearing of the collagen and elastin fibers that are responsible for tone and firmness. The result is stretch marks and “Stretch marks don’t discriminate,” says Dr. Ourian. “If your weight fluctuates significantly in a short period of time, celebrity or not, you’re likely to get stretch marks.” Kate Beckinsale, considered one of Hollywood’s most beautiful actresses, was quoted as saying: “I don’t know how people think you can go from eight-and-a-half stone (119 pounds) to over 12 stone (168 pounds) when you’re pregnant and not get them. I’ve got stretch marks everywhere.”

Lotions and Potions

“There are a lot of lotions and potions out there,” says Doctor Ourian, “and many of them won’t do much at all for stretch marks. I’m not familiar with the product Kim Kardashian says she’s going to use to prevent pregnancy related stretch marks, I hope it will be effective for her. But if not, we offer the Coolbeam treatment for stretch mark removal at Epione and I’d invite her to come in and see for herself what we can do.” Click for stretch mark removal before and after photos.

And sure, Kim has the funds to afford an extensive skincare regimen, but, like any makeup mogul, she has a few inexpensive ride-or-die beauty products she swears by. So, what’s her secret to nary a fine line or blemish on her entire body? Bio-Oil, an oil formulated with plant extracts and vitamins A and E.

Kim Kardashian’s beauty arsenal is filled with tons of hella expensive products—but every so often, she lets us know that, yes, she does have some cheap, ride-or-die favorites, too, like her $10 wrinkle-softening serum, or her go-to $6 drugstore mascara.

And today, in a post on her website, Kim praised yet another affordable drugstore product that she swears keeps her skin stretch-mark free: Bio-Oil, a classic skin oil that costs a cool $15.

Courtesy of Brand

“It just makes my skin glow, and it has so many benefits,” Kim wrote in the post. “If you have a scar or stretch marks, you just massage the oil onto the area two times a day.” Kim even called the formula a “lifesaver” throughout her pregnancies, and “would apply it like crazy.”

Even if you’re not looking to get rid of your stretch marks—because there’s absolutely nothing wrong with having them (embrace them! Love them! Own them!)—the formula is still a killer choice for everyday use. The lightweight oil is infused with Vitamin A and E, which help even out your skin tone, along with lavender, rosemary, calendula, and chamomile oils, which work to hydrate and smooth your skin.

According to Bio Oil’s website, the product has apparently been “clinically proven to help improve the appearance of new or old scars, whether from surgery, accidents, burns, insect bites, scratches or conditions such as acne or chickenpox.” But according to biology and science, nothing can actually prevent stretch marks, since they’re caused by hormones, genetics, and stretched-out skin.

Sure, oils will keep your skin soft when you’re pregnant or going through weight fluctuations, but they won’t do anything to get rid of stretch marks, so they can’t repair the damaged elastic fibers and collagen deep, deep within your skin. They can, however, give you a nice glow, which can mitigate their appearance.

But, hey, Kim’s skin looks smooth as hell in photos, so maybe she’s evolved past scientific reasoning. Either that, or she’s just got really, really good genes. I’ll let you be the judge.

Kim Kardashian is reflecting on the changes her body went through after becoming a mom for the first time.

The 37-year-old reality star, who welcomed her third child, daughter Chicago, via surrogate last month, took to her app on Tuesday to open up about her stretch marks after breastfeeding North.

“After breastfeeding North, I wasn’t happy with the stretch marks on my boobs, so I had the area Coolbeam lasered by Dr. Ourian. It made SUCH a difference,” Kardashian wrote. “The Coolbeam lasers are the best for removing scars, stretch marks and skin imperfections. They treat stretch marks by resurfacing the top layer of skin, which increases collagen regeneration. The best part is that there’s very little pain and downtime!”

“I was really scared that it would hurt, but it wasn’t bad at all. Afterward, I was SO excited to see the effects on my skin,” she continued.

Kardashian also discussed the changes her body went through after pregnancy, sharing that she underwent ultrasound radio frequency to help tighten her skin.

“I love ultrasound radio frequency, or USRF, for skin tightening! USRF uses ultrasound energy to increase collagen production, and to lift and tighten the skin,” she explained. “I’ve done these treatments on my neck, hands and stomach, but it can also be done on other areas of the body. Anyone who has had kids understands what pregnancy will do to your belly button — getting an ultrasound treatment on my stomach just totally tightened the area up.”

“Dr. Ourian always tells me that USRF is amazing for preventatively fighting the signs of aging so that later in life you don’t have to get a more serious procedure, like cosmetic surgery. It’s kind of painful (I never thought I could love someone and hate someone so much at the same time than when Dr. Ourian was lasering my stomach, LOL), but it’s so worth it when you see the results,” she said.

While Kardashian went the surrogacy route for baby No. 3, her little sister, Kylie Jenner, just gave birth to her first child, a daughter named Stormi.

KIM Kardashian has revealed she visited a cosmetic doctor to help remove her stretch marks in a new Snapchat video.

The reality beauty – who has been a longtime patient of cosmetic dermatologist Dr. Simon Ourian – told fans about her latest treatment immediately after she left his office on Sunday morning.

She said: “I feel so excited that I finally did it. I’ve been so scared to do it thinking it hurts so badly, and it didn’t hurt that badly.

“So I’m so grateful, and I’m so excited. I love you Dr. Ourian.”

She was pictured leaving the venue in all-black ensemble teamed with bright white sneakers, a leather snakeskin purse and black shades.

Aesthetic medical doctor Dr Galyna Selezneva explained to The Sun Online: ” As many new mothers may know going through pregnancy is not easy and will leave your body, and especially tummy, distorted and possibly stretched…not everyone recovers quickly and some people prefer to seek help as it bothers them so much and brings their confidence down!

“I suspect that Kim was not only looking at her belly button but also fixing some stretch marks on the abdomen and potentially tightening the skin covering the entire tummy…using laser to resurface the skin will induce new collagen production, I also use micro needles to further promote new collagen and skin formation.

Dr Galyna, who works at Dr Rita Rukus Clinic, continued: “As to belly buttons we can use some hyaluronic acid to correct some post pregnancy defects…”

However, the night before saw The Keeping Up With The Kardashian’s star show her love of furry outwear as she wore a long fur coat for her dinner date with husband Kanye West.

The reality star continued her recent low key glamour look as she teamed her simple all black ensemble with the long line brown coat.

She teamed her plunging top with black trousers and lace up boots while accessorising the look with a gold necklace.

The 36-year-old had typically glamorous make-up in place while her long black locks flowed freely as she strolled into the venue.

Kanye – who has been sporting dyed blonde hair in recent months – teamed a white graphic print top with blue tracksuit bottoms.

He completed his outfit with floral embroidered black jacket and Adidas trousers.

The rapper has been keeping a relatively low profile in recent months suffering from “temporary psychosis” which saw him hospitalised late last year.

But the star was able to hold his Yeezy Season 5 show during New York Fashion Week last week, with Kim on hand to show her support.

Most women don’t love having stretch marks, but fortunately we’re living in a day and age where we no longer have to be ashamed of them. I’m not going to lie, when Kim Kardashian recently opened up about how she had stretch marks removed from her boobs, it kind of ticked me off a little. Not because she had them removed but because not all of us can actually afford to do that.

More from MamásLatinas: Kim Kardashian hates her breasts & she’s doing something about it

Apparently Kim developed stretch marks on her breasts after North. “After breastfeeding North, I wasn’t happy with the stretch marks on my boobs,” Kim wrote on her app. So she had laser treatments to remove them. “I had the area Coolbeam lasered by Dr. Ourian. It made SUCH a difference. The Coolbeam lasers are the best for removing scars, stretch marks, and skin imperfections. They treat stretch marks by resurfacing the top layer of skin, which increases collagen regeneration. The best part is that there’s very little pain and downtime!”

So here’s what we know, Kim Kardashian has super soft boobs. According to Caity Weaver from GQ, they’re “So soft it makes velvet feel like splinters.” Fair enough Caity.

While the internet is buzzing over Weaver’s recent interview with Kardashian, in which she outs Taylor Swift as a ‘victim,’ beauty junkies are instead obsessing over her boobs. What in the world could be helping her chest be, “So soft that touching it is like scooping up the delicate pink dawn sky with your fingers, or holding a ball of lotion in your hand.”

Thankfully, as we know very well by now, Kardashian is a sharer.

In a series of Snaps, Kardashian kindly revealed her morning skincare routine to her followers, which included a $336, decollate serum by cult beauty brand, Lancer.

Bosom banter aside though, Kardashian’s current skincare routine is surprisingly concise, proving that often going for quality, not quantity gets results in the beauty cabinet.

Let’s beak it down, shall we?

Step one: Prep skin with face wipes
Kardashian’s pick? The cult This Works, In Transit No Traces Pads.

Step Two: Hydrate with nourishing essential oils
Kardashian uses a Jojoba Oil-based formula by Anastasia Beauty, which sadly isn’t available anymore. Fear not, there are many other similar mixes that should still do the trick.

“I feel like my face hates moisturisers so I’m going to use this hydrating oil that I love and I kind of put this all over my body too.”

Step Three: Slather on a serum
Kardashian loves the super luxe Imperiale Longevity Concentrate from Guerlain, which features the brands famed orchid extract to tighten and brighten between selfies.

“I love the way Guerlain smells. I’m going to put this all over my face after the oil but wait like maybe 10 minutes for it to all soak in.”

Step four: Don’t disregard your decollate
To get a opening paragraph inspiring decollate, Kardashian layers it every AM with the firming, contouring and sculpting serum by Lancer.

Step five: All about the eyes
Even Kim slacks off in the eye department (she’s just like us!) but she’s nobly trying to change her ways.

“I’m going to try this eye serum I’ve never used it before but I’ve got to start wearing more eye cream.”

Step six: Body of work
Kardashian’s top tip for supple skin sans stretch marks? Amp up the efforts of your body lotion with nourishing oil.

“And I’m obsessed with body oils. I do a combo of lotion and I do switch between these three everyday.”

There’s no denying it, Kim Kardashian is the reigning queen when it comes to all things beauty. Need proof? Well, she takes two full hours to get ready in the morning, uses three different eyeliners to create her “natural, daytime” look, and even had the power to officially make contouring uncool again. So, when Kardashian dishes out beauty advice, we listen.

This time, Kim’s latest tip wasn’t her typical makeup hack but rather a trick for preventing cellulite. Kardashian recommends mixing a body oil and body lotion together and applying it to dry skin before exercising. “I put the body oil all over my body because I heard if you put it on before you work out, you get really firm skin and no wrinkles,” she explained in a Snapchat video.

In a separate snap, Kim noted which ones are her favorite, nodding to Elizabeth Arden Cream All-Over Miracle Oil ($28), Noodle & Boo Elasticity Oil ($18), and Blue Lagoon Iceland Silica Softening Bath & Body Oil ($40) as making the cut onto her list of go-to choices. But, do they actually work to firm your skin?

Snapchat

While oiling up before heading to the gym may give you a sexy glow without even having to actually break a sweat, Jessica Weiser, M.D., of New York Dermatology Group doesn’t think it’s the best idea. “Applying oil prior to a workout will likely increase heat production in the body and could potentially occlude pores and lead to breakouts,” she says. “Typically oils are best applied to clean damp skin to trap moisture and enhance penetration of active ingredients into the skin.”

However, don’t go tossing out your body oils just yet. When used correctly, oils can actually help plump the skin. “Some contain retinol as an added ingredient which helps stimulate collagen production and could help improve fine lines and wrinkles,” Dr. Weiser explains. “Some essential oils can make skin appear more firm by plumping cells and by exerting antioxidant effects to reverse damage to skin cells.”

The verdict is in. While Kim is on the right track when it comes to keeping her skin hydrated and plump (which can ultimately improve its appearance), using it as a pre-workout ritual is simply unnecessary.
