“My body never looked better than when I did the keto diet two and a half years ago when I did it for two months. In my experience, I’ve found the best method to train my body to curb sugar cravings, burn fat, and kick-start weight loss is by sticking to a keto diet. “
“I had a really positive experience the last time around and wanted to restart my routine this summer. It’s definitely a more restrictive eating plan,” admits Kourtney of the diet.

What is the keto diet?
For the uninitiated: the keto diet works by inducing a state of ketosis which means dieters must account for every macronutrient they consume and follow a low carb, a high-fat eating plan that has nasty side effects such as bad breath and flu-like symptoms. Less than 5% of your daily calories come from carbs; 75% to 90% of your calories come from fat, and the remaining 5% to 20% of your caloric intake comes from protein.
The 40-year-old adds, “But I found that once I knew the ground rules, I was very strict and really stuck to it.”
“My plan this time is to eat minimal carbs and no grains, beans, or legumes. I’m focusing my meals on fresh vegetables and lean proteins. I eat three meals a day with no snacking in between if possible.”

Additionally, Kourtney practices intermittent fasting – which means she doesn’t eat for 14 to 16 hours after dinner and does a 24-hour fast once every week, though during that period she does drink water and bone broth before having a regular dinner.
Kourtney explains, “for these fasting days, I only drank bone broth, water, and green tea. It would start after my last meal of the day at 7 p.m., and then I could eat dinner the next night, so I would only be missing two meals.”
Foods Kourtney avoids
The reality star’s detox diet doesn’t end with her meal frequency though. Kardashian has cut specific foods from her diet altogether, including some surprising omissions.
Kourtney’s ‘foods to avoid’ list includes; processed foods, sugary foods, grains or starches, fruit (berries are permitted), beans or legumes, root vegetables (potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots, parsnips), some condiments and sauces, unhealthy fats and alcohol.
Kourtney’s Keto Meal Plan
For breakfast, I’ll have my avocado smoothie. Since I’m not able to eat honey or dates while on keto, I’ll swap that for a couple drops of Stevia. I’ll still mix in my MCT oil, bone broth powder, and blue-green algae.
My go-to for lunch is usually a protein-based chef salad with turkey, a base of mixed greens, and egg whites.
For dinner, I keep my meals really clean and simple. I’ll usually eat chicken or salmon, and I love getting creative to substitute carbs. I make cauliflower rice or broccoli rice because even though they’re made entirely from shredded veggies, they kind of trick my brain and make me feel like I’m eating some carbs. I remember last time being able to eat a small amount of sweet potato once in a while.
Like I mentioned earlier, I really try not to snack while on keto at all. If I find I really need something to keep me going throughout the day, I’ll have a green tea or some bone broth to give me a boost. I will also eat nuts like walnuts or pecans.
- Kourtney Kardashian revealed she’s going back on the keto diet.
- Kourtney, 40, tried the keto diet two years and said her “body never looked better.”
- She plans on doing keto for a month, and shared what her daily meal plan looks like.
Let’s be real: Kourtney Kardashian always looks super fit—and she credits it to paying close attention to her diet and workout routine. But now, Kourt revealed that she’s going back on one of her most tried-and-true diets: keto.
A little background: Kourtney actually did the keto diet two years ago, according to her recent blog post on her lifestyle website, Poosh. “My doctor actually put me on the keto diet a couple of years ago for a metal detox,” she wrote. “He tested my muscles and found that I had high levels of mercury and lead in my system.”
Kourtney added that her doctor “let me know that one of the fastest ways to detox was to keep my body in a state of ketosis. I would check my blood sugar and ketone levels every morning to make sure I was on track.”
But an added benefit of her keto diet was how it made her look at feel, she said. “My body never looked better than when I did the keto diet two and half years ago, when I did it for two months,” she wrote. “In my experience, I’ve found the best method to train my body to curb sugar cravings, burn fat, and kick-start weight loss is by sticking to a keto diet.”
Kourtney’s not the only celeb who’s tried keto. Here are a few more:
That’s why she’s giving it another go—and this time, she’s sticking to lots of veggies and lean protein. “My plan this time is to eat minimal carbs and no grains, beans, or legumes,” she wrote. “I’m focusing my meals on fresh vegetables and lean proteins. I eat three meals a day with no snacking in between if possible.”
Kourtney even shared her new keto meal plan on her website. Here’s what Kourtney eats in a day on her new keto diet:
- Breakfast: An avocado smoothie made with Stevia, MCT oil, bone broth powder, and blue-green algae.
- Lunch: A protein-based chef salad with turkey, mixed greens, and egg whites.
- Dinner: Chicken or salmon with cauliflower or broccoli rice
- Snacks: Green tea, bone broth, or nuts like walnuts and pecans.
Overall, Kourtney says she’s “really excited to be jumping back in” to the keto diet, but says that she’ll “most likely go back to regular lifestyle” after her month on keto is up. “It’s all about balance,” she wrote—which is definitely a mindset I can get behind.

Kourtney Kardashian turns 40 years old today, April 18. And though she’s always been fit, as pictures show her body somehow looks better and better every day.
As anyone who keeps up with Keeping Up With the Kardashians knows, the eldest of the Kardashian-Jenner crew is the family leader when it comes to all things nutrition, health and wellness. Us even tried to track every diet the Poosh founder has ever recommended. (Spoiler alert: from intermittent fasting to no-sugar and gluten-free to apple cider vinegar shots, it was a lot!)
While Kim may get attention for her ample butt and tiny waist and Khloé for her dedication to weight loss and maintenance, Kourt has focused on making sure her entire body is fit and healthy inside and out since getting pregnant with son Mason, now 9, back in 2009. (She also has daughter Penelope, 6, and 4-year-old son Reign with former love Scott Disick.)
Gone are the 5-foot-1 star’s partying and club days! As she’s gotten older, Kourtney has focused on consuming fresh, organic, whole foods and ditching booze. “She’s really good with food,” a source told Us in October 2018. “She doesn’t drink a lot of alcohol, but will occasionally when she is out.” And everything she consumes is planned. “She plots her meals she has for the day,” said the source. “She brings snacks wherever she goes — all gluten-free. She doesn’t snack too much though.”
With age also comes wisdom. If the entrepreneur falls off track, “she’ll step up her workouts, but won’t go on any fad diet like keto,” the source shared. That technique pays off. See: Her sexy nude photoshoot for GQ Mexico’s December 2018 issue.
As for those workouts that she powers through, her commitment is off the charts! “Kourtney works her butt off,” the source told Us of the reality star’s fitness regimen. “Wherever she is, she makes sure to exercise every morning. She does a mix of cardio and strength training. She is still working with Don-A-Matrix when she is home, and has a routine of exercises she does when she is on the road.”
Without a doubt, her impressive efforts have paid off! Scroll through to see photos of Kourtney from 2002 to present — and pick up a healthy habit or body-positive tip of your own!
Kourney Kardashian showed off her hot body for the 4th of July and fans are loving it! In a photo shared to her Instagram Stories on Thursday, the reality star supported America’s birthday in a red, two-piece string bikini in a steamy closet selfie. The mom of three showed her full body, inside her walk-in closet while holding a pair of black sunglasses.

The 40-year-old mom recently shared on her Poosh blog that her body has “never looked better” after going back on the Keto diet. The Keeping Up With the Kardashian star was on the same diet two and a half years ago, but praises her body the second time around.
“In my experience, I’ve found the best method to train my body to curb sugar cravings, burn fat, and kick-start weight loss is by sticking to a keto diet,” she said.
She went on to explain that keto stands for ketosis — which has become a popular diet in recent years — and said that it’s the state your body is in when it switches from burning carbs to burning fat. Adding that it was her doctor that put her on the diet after tests showed she had high amounts of mercury and lead in her system, she is very proud of the results.
“I had a really positive experience the last time around and wanted to restart my routine this summer,” she said. “It’s definitely a more restrictive eating plan, but I found that once I knew the ground rules, I was very strict and really stuck to it.”
Kardashian gave a little insight into what she typically eats in a date, starting with an avocado smoothie, then a “protein-based chef salad with turkey, a base of mixed greens, and egg whites for lunch.” Then, for dinner, she goes back-and-forth between either salmon or chicken. She admits that she loves “getting creative to substitute carbs.”
Kardashian is putting her hot new body to use by vacationing with the family quite a bit. She recently went to Costa Rica with her ex, Scott Disick, and their kids Mason, 9; Penelope, 6 and Reign, 4. Her sister Kim Kardashian and her husband Kanye met up with them to join in on the fun as well.
Kardashian has recently opened up about she and Disick’s relationship saying that they’re in a good place and are able to spend time with the family and include his girlfriend Sofia Richie, adding that it’s “probably the thing I’m most proud of.”
“I was almost 140lb forever and now I’m like 116lb ,” she told WHO in August last year.
“It just feels so good. I didn’t see results right away, but when you stick with something and you’re consistent, you will,” she added. “I love it.”
That consistency translates to 90-minute, 6am strength training workouts six days a week with exercises focusing on toning specific body parts: shoulders, biceps/triceps, and chest/back, as well as three days devoted to legs.
They also do cardio exercises –either short bursts of high intensity or more prolonged, low-intensity walks.
Overhauling her eating meant reducing sugar, steering clear of processed foods and sticking to lean meats, fruits, vegetables, healthy fats and carbs from sources such as oats or whole grains.
“When we met, Kim told me she’s tired of doing little diets,” Alcantara has told WHO.
“She didn’t want to be skinny. She wanted to have muscle and feel strong. And she wanted to find something she can do for the rest of her life.”
Likewise, Kourtney, 40, has made healthy eating part of her lifestyle, crediting avocado, wholegrain porridge, collagen smoothies and apple cider vinegar for her fit frame.
Still, in a recent post to Poosh, her health-and-wellness focused website, she shared how she sometimes strays from her organic and keto diet.
“I cheat twice a day with a little something sweet after lunch and dinner,” she said in the post.
“Indulging every once in a while is self-care.”
Her fitness routine, too, is part of her self-care.
“I take time for myself to work out every day, which I never did – especially having three young kids,” she has told E! “I just never made it a priority, and now it makes me feel so much better – mentally and physically.”
The Kardashians are all masters of weight loss, with sister Khloe Kardashian also looking great ahead of the next season of Revenge Body.
The celeb sister also observes a strict low carb diet and workout routine, and there’s no doubt that it has paid off.
Reality star sisters Kim Kardashian West and Kourtney Kardashian took their kids to Costa Rica fora tropical getaway filled with sun, sand and selfies.
A source tells WHO that Kim, 38, and husband Kanye West, 42, left 6-week-old son Psalm at home, but brought along their three oldest kids — North, 6, Saint, 3, and Chicago, 1 — while Kourtney travelled with ex Scott Disick, 36, and their three children, Mason, 9, Penelope, who turns 7 on July 8, and Reign, 4.
“They are all filming for the show ,”the source says.
“They have a lot of ocean and rainforest activities planned.”

KOURTNEY Kardashian is in incredible shape thanks to following a strict diet and exercise regime.
Earlier this year the mum-of-three, who is 5 feet tall, revealed she is 98lbs – just 36lbs more than her eight-year-old son Mason. But what are her diet and exercise secrets? Here’s what we know…

How tall is Kourtney Kardashian and how much does she weigh in stone?
Kourtney Kardashian is exactly five feet tall and as of February 2018, weighs 98lbs, which is seven stone.
The reality star revealed she weighs just 36lbs more than her eight-year-old son Mason, who tips the scales at 4 stone, 4lbs (62lbs).
During a deleted scene from Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Kourtney said: “Guess what? I gained a pound. I’m 98, since yesterday to today. You know Mason is 62?”
What is Kourtney Kardashian’s diet?
Kourtney, 38, said she tries to “include as many organic whole foods as possible” in her diet – when sharing her day on a plate in a recent blog post.
She’s very vocal about her gluten free lifestyle on KUWTK – and also strives to eat a diet free of red meat, sugar, dairy and processed food.
Kourtney’s day on a plate
- FIRST THING: Collagen supplements
- Followed by a glass of water mixed with one tablespoon of organic apple cider vinegar, 20 minutes later
- PRE-WORKOUT BREAKFAST: Avocado pudding
- POST-WORKOUT BREAKFAST: Wholegrain porridge, with pee pollen or seeds
- LUNCH: Salad with chicken or salmon and homemade salad dressing

Kourtney glugs apple cider vinegar twice-a-day and is obsessed with avocados – eating a daily pudding made from a whole avocado, non-dairy milk and Manuka honey.
She also likes turkey chilli for an occasional more filling dinner, which she batch makes on a Sunday.

If her day-to-day plan sounds strict, you’ll definitely be taken aback by Kourtney’s ‘detox diet’.
In summer 2017, the reality star revealed that she was detoxing for THREE MONTHS straight to try and reduce the amount of mercury and lead in her system.
The low-carb diet is super strict – so please don’t try to recreate it at home before speaking to a doctor first.
Kourtney’s detox diet
- BREAKFAST: Avocado smoothie
- LUNCH/DINNER: Fish or chicken with veg, served with cauliflower rice or brocolli topped with nutritional yeast (vegan cheese replacement)
- After dinner, Kourtney’s not allowed to eat anything for 14-16 hours
- DRINKS: Water
- SNACKS: A handful of almonds
- FAST DAY: One day-a-week, Kourtney does a 24-hour fast drinking nothing but water and bone broth.
“On fasting days, I try to stay busy and, if I’m home, I’ll avoid going into the kitchen,” Kourtney wrote on her app.
“I’m not going to sugarcoat it, this detox is difficult.”

What’s the health benefit of drinking apple cider vinegar?
Victoria Beckham, Jennifer Aniston, Katy Perry and Liz Hurley all swear by drinking apple cider vinegar on an empty stomach to kickstart their day.
At just £4.99 a bottle, this A-list hack is surprisingly affordable, but does it work?
6 And she glugs apple cider vinegar, which Victoria Beckham is also a fan of, twice-a-dayCredit: iNSTAGRAM
Studies have found that apple cider vinegar could help with fat loss – because it has a low calorie content (3-6 cals per tablespoon) and contains something called acetic acid.
This acid is thought to reduce fat storage, increase fat burning, and improve blood sugar and insulin response.
It can also reduce appetite and help to promote “fullness” – which may naturally lead to a lower calorie intake.

What’s Kourtney Kardashian’s exercise regime?
Kourtney works out nearly every day with KUWTK favourites Joel ‘Coach Joe’ Bouraïma and Don Brooks of the Don-A-Matrix method.
She regularly trains with her sister Khloe – but what are her favourite moves?

But what exactly does the 39-year-old do to keep her fitness so on point—and her sculpted abs so defined? Read on to learn about Kourtney Kardashian’s workout.
1. A trainer kicks her butt.

On her app, Kourtney used to share a lot of info on what she did during her workouts—many led by trainer, Don Brooks (@donamatrixtraining), using his method coined “The Don-A-Matrix Method.” This workout technique is “set up to resemble a sports game format consisting of four quarters,” Brooks told E! News. “Each quarter has three sets of two different exercises, combined with rest or relief periods after each quarter. We use the resist-a-bands a lot—the bands are very effective for toning without bulking or injury.”
Brooks’ workouts generally involve strength-training exercises mixed with some crazy intense cardio moves. Another YouTube video teaser shows Kourtney using battle ropes, BOSU balls, and a TRX suspension trainer.
E! Online also cites Amanda Lee as one of Kourtney’s trainers. Lee reveals that she does a lot of HIIT workouts with the Kardashian sisters, as well as exercises like lunges and squats to fatigue (gotta work that booty!).
2. She counts on workout buddies.

And usually, it’s sisters Khloe or Kim (more often the former). You’ll often see one of the Kardashian sibs showing off their gym picks—including badass photos of their workouts, or what they look like after the sweat (which is always fabulous, of course).
Kourtney credits her sisters for motivating her to get to the gym and stick to a regular workout schedule. “I know for my body, I need four to five days a week of working out,” she told E! News. “Khloe and I really push each other to do that.”
3. She moves it outside.

Just recently, Kourtney posted a photo of herself (along with Kylie and Kendall), geared up in their winter attire and ready to hit the slopes. According to another IG post, she was in Aspen, Colorado with the entire fam, kicking off her 2019 workout regime on skis.
When the weather is warm, Kourtney has also been known to hike around SoCal and play a little pool volleyball and tennis. Because fitness doesn’t always need to be killer—it can be fun too!
4. She sneaks in cardio.

Would Kourtney Kardashian Be As Obsessed With Healthy Living If She Wasn’t Famous?
If you’ve been following Kourtney Kardashian for a while now, you know that she enjoys living a wholesome lifestyle.
Over the years, the reality star has been very vocal about healthy living and continues to maintain a clean diet as well as a regular workout schedule.

While being a prominent figure in the industry has a lot to do with Kardashian’s obsession with health and fitness, is it possible that she’d still be into healthy living if she wasn’t famous?
The Kardashian-Jenner’s have always been into fitness
Even before Kourtney Kardashian become a world-famous reality star, her life fully revolved around wholesome living.
While Kardashian has taken her healthy lifestyle more seriously in recent years, the reality star comes from a family that’s always embraced fitness and health.
During a 2011 interview with Shape, Kardashian revealed that she grew up living healthy all thanks to her family members.
“My family has always been into exercise,” she shared. “My dad used to tape episodes of Seinfeld and Friends and watch them in the morning while he was on the treadmill.”

Father daughter dance 1993. Happy Birthday to the best daddy I could have ever imagined. Your love shines through all of us and we feel your protection.
When Kris Jenner married former Olympian Bruce Jenner, he encouraged the family to take Tae Bo classes as a way to exercise regularly.
“Kim and I went almost every day after school,” the reality star recalled. “Sometimes we’d do two classes in a row because we had so much energy.”
As Kardashian got older, she continued putting in work when it came to her work out regimes.
She even discovered her love for running, which she continued doing right up until she was seven months pregnant with her first child. “But carrying an extra 40 pounds started to bother my knees,” she said, “so I had to stop.”
Kardashian embraced her healthy lifestyle after having her first child
Although exercising and healthy eating are things Kardashian has always loved doing, she didn’t embrace a completely healthy lifestyle until her oldest son, Mason, was born.
View this post on Instagram
Before she even gave birth, the reality star was adamant on raising her family on a strictly organic diet and putting for that lifestyle for her child, Kardashian soon found herself adopting the same eating habits.
“My mom gave me the Beaba baby food maker that steams and purees fruits and veggies,” she shared.
“I use only organic foods for him, and it made me think about what I put into my body too,” she continued. “I couldn’t sit around eating cookies and expect him to eat vegetables. I fell in love with salmon, which I hardly ever ate before. And I used to eat salads, but now I’m having side dishes like spinach and carrots too. It wasn’t just because it’s good for me-I’ve discovered I really liked eating that way.”
Ever since then, Kardashian has enjoying living a healthy lifestyle and even shares some of her health tips and recipes with fans on her website, Poosh.
View this post on Instagram
Back an April, the reality star launch the site and it quickly became the central hub for all things health and wellness, life and style, interior design, beauty, motherhood, and more.
Although she frequently talks about healthy living on social media as well as Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Kardashian wanted to create a space where people could really educate themselves on the topic.
“I decided to launch Poosh because I felt that there was something missing in the healthy lifestyle space,” . “Healthy living gets a bad rap; it’s as though if you care about what you put in — or on — your body, then you’re not sexy or cool. But this just isn’t true, and Poosh is here to prove just that.”
Would she still be into health and fitness if she wasn’t famous?
Though Kardashian has made a very lucrative career out of her healthy lifestyle, many of us can’t help but wonder if she’d still be this invested in health and wellness if she wasn’t a famous reality star?
While being a world famous celebrity has given Kardashian the tools she’s needed to continue living healthy, we’re pretty sure she still would have adopted the same lifestyle even if she wasn’t in the public eye.
Before she was even a well-known reality star, Kardashian was just a Calabasas native who loved all things health and fitness.
View this post on Instagram
She would constantly work out and enjoyed eating things that were good for her body.
If Kardashian never became a reality star, we’re certain she would have still adopted her healthy lifestyle and continued to put in the work to maintain it.
21 Super Healthy Foods Kourtney Kardashian Feeds Her Children
It’s no secret that many members of the Kardashian family incorporate fitness and dieting into their daily habits and routines. Kourtney Kardashian’s diet, however, is especially noteworthy. For years, all of the sisters have shared details about their workouts and personal training sessions, even posting videos of themselves exercising in private gyms on a consistent basis. Kim Kardashian-West regularly talks about her past experiences with diets like Atkins and Keto, while Khloe Kardashian created an entire show, Revenge Body, about losing weight and getting fit. Kourtney, the eldest Kardashian sister, seems to take her health journey even more seriously, though. And she’s not afraid to talk about it or share her insights. If you’re even remotely familiar with Keeping Up with the Kardashians, then you probably already know Kourtney eats a lot of, well… kind of bizarre foods.
She seems to swear by many allegedly healthy habits.
Some of her habits aren’t that reputable, though, and others sound pretty strange. For example, she fasts intermittently, spending days sipping bone broth. Other times, Kourtney starts her mornings with a spoonful of melted ghee. In fact, she avoids many foods that are arguably quite delicious. The eldest sister prefers this lifestyle, and her kids get involved in Kourtney Kardashian’s diet too.
Here’s a look at the odd, but super healthy, things Kourtney feeds her children.
1. Gluten-Free and Dairy-Free Cupcakes
It’s not weird when people with particular food allergies are gluten-free or dairy-free.
But it doesn’t seem as if Kourtney is completely allergic to those ingredients. Neither are her children; they just have slight intolerances. The mother of three still removed all gluten and dairy from her household cupboards, however.
In a post on her app, she wrote, “A few years ago, the kids and I did muscle testing and found out we have sensitivities to both gluten and dairy. After speaking with my doctor and doing some research, I decided to try a gluten- and dairy-free diet.”
Kourtney occasionally lets them have more regular treats, but she mostly supplies them with diet-approved options.
The mom noted, “Of course, we pick our battles and I do let the kids have popcorn at the movies and a churro at Disneyland, etc. But for birthday parties, which can sometimes be every weekend, I bring extra gluten and dairy-free cupcakes… and they are happy with that.”
2. Gluten-Free Waffles
Kourtney likes to eat avocado pudding or a banana spinach shake for breakfast, but she keeps things somewhat simple for the children. Go-to breakfast items for them include gluten-free waffles made with Arrowhead Mills Organic Waffle Mix.
The healthy parent uses Nutiva Organic Coconut Flour as well.
3. Scrambled Eggs
It’s almost shocking at this point that Kourtney and her kids don’t follow a strict vegan diet. Truly shocking.
Apparently, though, the family won’t go meat-free any time soon. Kourtney’s kids actually seem to love scrambled eggs, and she loves making them.
That’s not even strange, so we’ll give her that one!
4. Cereal with Quinoa Clusters
Cereal, another breakfast staple in the Kardashian household, must meet certain standards.
Frosted Flakes or Cheerios aren’t approved; Kourtney only feeds her kids the healthy stuff. Her favorites include Kind Maple Quinoa Clusters and Puffins Honey Rice Cereal.
Buy hey, at least her kids get to enjoy cereal in the first place, a childhood staple many of us have fond memories of.
5. Homemade Almond Milk
Since the family maintains a largely dairy-free diet, it’s not surprising they prefer non-dairy milk options.
Kourtney mentioned that her brood only drinks homemade almond milk, organic rice milk, or organic coconut milk. Emphasis on homemade!
According to Minimalist Baker, this involves blending soaked almonds and using a nut milk bag to discard any excess pulp. Not as hard as it sounds!
6. Carrots and Celery with Hummus
Kourtney attempts to follow a mainly clean diet that consists of fresh fruits, veggies, and simple proteins. Honestly, we could use this as inspiration for our own grocery list.
Additionally, she loves to give her kids carrots and celery with hummus for lunch. We can live with that one, since that’s a snack that even non-celebs like ourselves love to chow down on.
7. Gluten-Free Tortillas
Don’t worry, Kourtney’s children get more than just veggies and hummus for lunch.
The fit mom also claims to give them “a gluten-free rice tortilla with sliced turkey meat or turkey dogs — no bun.”
Kourt also likes sweet potato tortillas, which certainly sound interesting.
Fortunately, gluten-free products are more widespread than they used to be.
8. Big Salads with Homemade Dressing
Is it any surprise Kourtney got her kids into those famous Kardashian salads?
In a post on her app, she wrote, “Penelope and I love salads, so we usually eat a big yummy one for lunch.” The mom went on to say, “I usually have with some type of protein added, like chicken or salmon. Whenever possible, I try to make my own simple balsamic or ginger dressing since store-bought dressings have lots of unnecessary sugar and preservatives.”
9. Simple Dinners with Gluten-Free Pasta
Dinner doesn’t seem very elaborate in Kourtney’s home.
Instead, it’s super simple and healthy. The Kardashian notes that evening meals consist of lightly cooked veggies with gluten-free pasta. A protein like chicken, turkey, or fish typically rounds out dinner. Not the most exciting thing in the world, but hey, it gets the job done.
10. Gluten-Free Bread
It seems like Kourtney runs a pretty tight ship, but the mom does allow her children to indulge in treats sometimes.
She said, “When we were just in Italy, we all had pizza one night. But for the rest of the trip, I found that almost every restaurant had gluten-free pastas and gluten-free bread.”
She also stated, “When I’m traveling (and sometimes on the weekend), I’ll cheat — I’m a little more lenient now than I was when I first started this whole thing.”
If you’re going to cheat on your diet, it may as well be in Italy!
11. Organic Options
Kourtney tries to keep her family away from anything processed and non-organic.
She says, “I also try to avoid processed foods in general. I really try to focus on fresh and organic fruits and vegetables, and healthy proteins like salmon, chicken, and eggs.” Really, there’s nothing wrong with that — especially if you’re trying to teach your family the importance of being healthy.
12. Homemade Baby Food
When Kourtney’s kids were babies, they definitely didn’t eat baby food out of a jar! No sir!
Kourtney personally prepared their mashed fruits and veggies. She said, “My mom bought me this amazing baby-food maker, the Beaba. I steam and puree fruits and vegetables, and they last for like four days.”
13. Red Beets
Unlike some parents, Kourtney doesn’t shy away from giving her children more unique vegetables.
And her oldest son, Mason, taste-tested everything first. Kourtney shared, “Mason pretty much loves everything. I gave him red beets, and it got all over his face, which made the funniest picture.” Sometimes playing with your food can actually inspire you to eat it, it seems.
14. Brown Rice Snacks
Kourtney doesn’t let snacking get out of control.
She lets her three children eat between meals, but their snacks are healthy and filling — not sugary or full of empty calories. In fact, one of Kourt’s favorite snacks, Edward & Sons Black Sesame Brown Rice Snaps, comes dried, cracker-like, and sodium-free. Additionally, the mom likes Peeled Snacks Dried Mango and Mary’s Gone Crackers Organic Pretzel Sticks.
15. Anything without Artificial Food Coloring
The oldest Kardashian sister lets her kids indulge when she sees fit — however, the options are still somewhat healthy.
Kourtney shared, “It’s obviously best to snack on fresh fruits and veggies, but this is not realistic all the time. We still need to have a little fun and indulge a little every day. I recently discovered that tons of regular candy gluten- and dairy-free. But, what they do have in them – which is not good for our bodies or our brains – is food coloring and artificial dyes. I strongly believe in avoiding artificial dyes and food coloring for kids’ diets.”
16. Organic Fruit Rope
The health-conscious Kardashian does approve certain candies, and she especially enjoys Clif Kid Organic Fruit Rope, a much healthier alternative to Fruit Roll-Ups. Kourtney’s kids also snack on Lucy’s Cinnamon Thin Cookies, Yum Earth Organic Gummy Bears, and Torie & Howard Chewie Fruities Organic Candy.
17. Turkey Chili
Kourtney loves a big batch of turkey chili.
The entrepreneurial mom explained, “I… make turkey chili when it’s cold outside. I usually try to make soups and chili on a Sunday, so I have the extras in the fridge when I’m busy during the week.” Her kids very likely get in on that home-cooked meal!
While it sounds nice to feed your kids such a healthy diet, we’re not sure we could survive on something so restrictive. But, to each their own, right?
In one of her posts on her lifestyle blog, Poosh, Kourt gave some specific examples of just exactly what she feeds her kids on on-the-go or in their school lunches.
Like every mom, she calls getting the kids to eat healthy a “never-ending battle” and girl, we feel you.
These next examples are Poosh-approved.
18. Organic Barnana Plantain Chips
According to the description, these sustainably upcycled bananas are suppose to be the tastiest snacks you will ever eat.
Pairing these with some salsa or guacamole sounds like heaven, especially with the tangy lime and sea salt flvaors.
Kourt says, “when shopping for quick bites, the most important thing is to avoid processed options.”
19. Brown Rice Cakes
These are super filling and the product itself is constantly working to improve and protect the environment for generations to come. What we love about rice snacks, probably like the eldest Kardashian sister, is how healthy they are! Pro tip: add a little peanut butter.
This isn’t a surprising choice for Kourtney to recommend because she has previously said, “Snack food doesn’t always have to fall under the “junk” or “unhealthy” categories.”
20. Gluten Free Pretzel Sticks
Who doesn’t love pretzels?
These are so much healthier than chips. Plus they’re crunchy and crisp, which are the defining factors of a good pretzel. They’re also certified gluten free, which is super important to Kourney and her kids’ diets.
21. So Delicious Dairy Free Coconutmilk Yogurt Alternative
No milk, no problem.
This dairy free yogurt alternative is a winner in Kourtney’s house. She names this brand as one of those “delicious choices that’ll have your kids begging for more, without ever realizing that they’re actually not eating junk food.”
While we’re highly skeptical about that…maybe her kids haven’t had ice cream… but, coconut milk is extremely sweet.

The keto diet has been getting a lot of attention for the past few years, with plenty of celebrities and health experts either celebrating its benefits, or issuing stern warnings about potential risks.
Kourtney Kardashian, however, is firmly in the pro-keto camp. And while she likes to experiment with a variety of different diet plans, she said she loved keto so much when she first tried it that she’s giving it another shot this summer.
“My body never looked better than when I did the keto diet two and half years ago, when I did it for two months,” Kardashian wrote in a post on her lifestyle blog Poosh on Thursday. “In my experience, I’ve found the best method to train my body to curb sugar cravings, burn fat, and kick-start weight loss is by sticking to a keto diet.”

So what is keto, exactly?
Keto, short for ketogenic, is a plan that severely limits sugar and carb intake, while encouraging the consumption of high-fat foods and protein. Doing this sends one’s body into a state of ketosis, which causes the body to burn fat for energy instead of carbohydrates, hence kickstarting true weight loss.
Trending stories, celebrity news and all the best of TODAY.
That means foods like alcohol, processed grains, starches and sugary foods are all to be avoided, as are most fruits and starchy root vegetables. Many store-bought sauces, condiments and marinades are also forbidden since they often contain hidden sugars.
Fans of the diet like TODAY’s Al Roker love keto because it often brings quick and dramatic weight-loss results. But critics argue that the very strict eating regimen makes it easy for people to quickly fall off the plan. Plus, constantly consuming high fat foods isn’t advisable for people prone to certain health conditions like heart disease.
Like many diets known to bring on results, keto is a lot of work. But, for Kardashian, it’s worth it.
The reality TV star shared that her plan this time around is to “eat minimal carbs and no grains, beans, or legumes, and focus on “fresh vegetables and lean proteins.” Unlike keto traditionalists, Kardashian relies on lower-fat proteins and gets her fats from unsaturated sources like avocados, coconuts and fish.
For her that means eating three meals a day, with no snacking. She also plans to involve intermittent fasting in conjunction with the keto diet, which means not eating for 14 to 16 hours after dinner. One day a week, Kardashian said she’ll do a 24-hour fast, too. During the fasting period she drinks bone broth, water and green tea.
Al Roker’s Favorite Keto Bread
Kardashian further elaborated on what she eats for each meal of the day:
Breakfast: The star starts with an avocado smoothie in the morning. Her classic recipe calls for honey, but while she’s on keto, she said she’ll use Stevia to sweeten up the thick mixture instead.
Lunch: Kardashian’s mid-day meal is “usually a protein-based chef salad with turkey, a base of mixed greens, and egg whites.”
Dinner: Her last meal of the day is also pretty simple, with a lean protein like chicken or salmon as the main attraction. To keep things interesting, Kardashian said she likes to “make cauliflower rice or broccoli rice because even though they’re made entirely from shredded veggies, they kind of trick my brain and make me feel like I’m eating some carbs.”
Occasionally she’ll indulge with a little sweet potato, which traditionally isn’t allowed on the diet but is more nutritionally beneficial than plain white spuds.
Kardashian has long been known to try out (and discuss) various trendy diets, but she doesn’t always stick with them for very long. Sometimes her meals — like the infamous lettuce-less salad — provoke a little backlash, too. While that meal seemed to be devoid of dressing, spices or any kind of seasoning, it certainly was low carb and gluten free!
Why not start the new year on a fresh note? Kourtney Kardashian’s Poosh website shared a list of foods that will help you kick-start a detox and, not surprisingly, many of the healthy eats that made the cut already play an important role in the Keeping Up With the Kardashian star’s diet.
The roundup, which was published on Tuesday, January 1, features input from certified nutritionist Cara Clark, who noted that detoxes (and cleanses) have numerous health benefits. According to Clark, a detox has the ability to reduce toxins accumulated in the body from the food we eat, the products we use, and the environment where we live. It also allows you to rely on food for your source of energy and reduces fat storage while increasing your energy levels.
Additionally, Clark pointed out that detoxes can be helpful in identifying any food intolerances or sensitivities and may provide more efficient productivity for your liver.
So which of the 40-year-old reality star’s favorites made the list? For starters, Clark is a big fan of fresh fruit and vegetables, which Kardashian eats in a variety of in smoothies and salads, including her daily chef’s salad, which includes mixed greens and tomatoes.
As Clark put it, the more fruits you eat, the better, especially if they’re different hues. “How many different colors can you eat?” she wondered.
Similarly, when it comes to veggies, Clark is a proponent of eating those that are in season whenever you’re looking to start your detox. If you’d rather chow down on vegetables that are out of season, the healthy eating expert suggested buying greens that have been frozen, as they tend to be less expensive and taste better than veggies coming from far away.
Another detox prep food Clark can’t get enough of is avocados. Kardashian is also an avocado aficionado, and eats at least one of the nutritious green fruits per day, which she blends into her morning avocado smoothie.
“For any detox, knowing what to avoid is just as important as knowing what to eat,” Clark added. “Work to eliminate alcohol, sugar, soy, gluten, and dairy during this phase … it’s always good to give your digestive system a break from time to time.”
