Kylie Jenner Leaves Puma for Team Adidas
When Kanye West tweeted in 2016 that no partnership between his sister-in-law Kylie Jenner and activewear brand Puma would ever exist, his rant fell on deaf ears. Kylie went on to star in multiple campaigns for Puma and collaborated with the brand on her own collection.

But today is a new day. The 21-year-old makeup mogul announced on Tuesday that her loyalties now lie with Adidas, the brand West has been affiliated with since 2015. With a pair of Adidas Falcon trainers on, Jenner wrote in an Instagram story, “So excited to announce that I am officially an Adidas ambassador.”
It was also announced that she will be the face of the Adidas Falcon campaign. “As a life-long fan of the brand, Kylie embodies the bold spirit of Falcon and we are pleased to announce her as the face of the campaign,” the statement says.
According to Vogue, the sneakers will be a contemporary version of the 1997 Originals Falcon Dorf runners and will come in a grey, pink, black and blue colorway. The campaign is set to be launched on September 6 in Adidas Originals stores across the GCC and online at Adidas.com.

It’s been a very long 31 months since Kanye West voiced his adamant disapproval over the mere suggestion of his half-sister-in-law Kylie Jenner working with Puma. “There will never be a Kylie Puma anything,” he tweeted ahead of his Yeezy Season 3 show in February 2016, in response to rumors that she had signed a seven-figure deal with the athletic brand. “1000% Kylie is on Yeezy team!!!” He was wrong — Jenner went on to star in multiple Puma campaigns and even create her own collection — but as of Tuesday, she’s officially switched over to West’s and Adidas’s team.
“So excited to announce that I am officially an adidas Ambassador,” she shared on Instagram stories while wearing Adidas Falcons. According to a statement we received from the brand, she’ll be the face of that particular style: “As a life-long fan of the brand, Kylie embodies the bold spirit of Falcon and we are pleased to announce her as the face of the campaign,” it reads.
Jenner also nonchalantly posted a photo of herself three days prior wearing Adidas Originals x Alexander Wang sneakers. We’re not sure exactly when her Puma contract ended; a rep for Puma has yet to respond to our request for comment.
There’s no debating that Adidas made a strong (but probably expensive) choice in signing Jenner. As Puma brought up in multiple earnings reports since 2016, she was very effective in driving sales for the competing German brand.
In addition to being West’s partner on all things Yeezy, Adidas also gives Kendall Jenner money to do things for Adidas Originals. Meanwhile, Kim Kardashian is essentially a walking advertisement for West’s designs. At this point, Adidas may as well set up a satellite brand marketing office in Calabasas.
UPDATE, Wednesday, Aug. 29, 10:07 p.m.: Adidas has debuted the first images from Kylie Jenner’s Falcon campaign, as well as additional information surrounding the new partnership and the shoe’s release. In a statement, Adidas noted that the Falcon’s “bold attitude is in sync with Jenner’s way of life – a mindset which has propelled her beauty business and established her as a cultural icon.”
“I’ve always loved Adidas and it’s exciting now being part of the Originals family, especially for Falcon,” said Jenner in the release.

Kylie Jenner Looks Sportier Than Ever in New Puma Ad Campaign
It’s been over a year since Kylie Jenner added “Puma ambassador” to her résumé. The reality star has consistently sported the brand’s Fierce and Suede sneaker styles in several campaigns, and her latest ads take the new Puma Fierce Strap Flocking to towering heights.
In the spring ’16 ads, Jenner showed off her workout moves, and for fall ’16 she posed in front of graffiti murals and subway cars. For spring ’17, Jenner is showing off an athletic side we haven’t seen before in a number of airborne positions.

The campaign introduces the latest version of Puma’s Fierce family, the Strap Flocking. The lightweight, laceless shoe is made of neoprene with a demi-cut strap around the ankle.
The Puma Fierce Strap Flocking comes in Peacoat, Quarry, and Sparkling Cosmo shades and retails for $110 on http://www.puma.com and stores nationwide.
Puma puts Kylie Jenner and Rae Sremmurd in the classic Suedes for new campaign
Kylie Jenner might keep us guessing about the status of her personal relationships but there’s no doubting how strong her professional connections are. Her partnership with sports brand Puma continues with their new Suede campaign, with images showing up on social media over the past day.
The label may be on a high from the release of some of their new styles (hi Rihanna) but it’s one of their iconic silhouettes that is getting the shine this time around – the Suede. In the campaign, King Kylie (can we still call her that?) can be seen ‘throwing it back’ for the 1968-born shoe. Fellow young #influencers, rappers Rae Sremmurd and actual Snapchat queen Julz Goddard AKA yesjulz, also feature in the promotional imagery, all sporting the classic style.
We’re sure there will be some Day One Suede supporters who will have some feelings about this generational clash but there’s little doubt that each individual is about to bring a whole new era of fans to the Suede movement. Take a look at some of the campaign in the gallery above.
Last time we saw Kylie Jenner suit up for Puma, she was showing off some ultra cool kicks and a surprisingly dark look to match. And though she seems to be donning various pieces from the brand — which she inked a major deal with in early 2016 — on the reg, her latest Puma campaign is a major standout.
Kylie took to Instagram on Monday to give us a sneak peek at what seems to be her latest collaboration with the athletic-wear line. The series of four shots all feature Kylie in different looks against a plain black background, but nothing about this is basic. All the outfits keep with a theme of black with a hint of pink. “@puma girl,” she captioned each post. And tbh, all the looks make us want to get up and run/bike/get-active-in-some-way, because these are fierce. Check out all four looks in the shots below:
Kylie certainly knows how to work it, but you’ll recall that the youngest member of the Kardashian-Jenner crew and her Puma deal was embroiled in controversy early laster year, after her brother-in-law Kanye West, who’s notoriously on team Adidas, tweeted that the teen would never dream of working with his competitor.
“1000% there will never be a Kylie Puma anything. That’s on my family!” he tweeted last February.

It wasn’t too long ago that the Internet came together to point out the controversy over Kendall Jenner’s Pepsi commercial — and now, it looks like her sister Kylie is sparking her own backlash for her latest Puma ad — particularly within the track-and-field community.
People took to Twitter to criticize Puma’s images of Kylie running. Users went in on the fact that while Caitlyn was a former athlete, Kylie herself is not, which led to the argument that an actual runner should have been used instead of the 19-year-old reality TV star. Some even took issue with her form, and argued that the ad doesn’t do the sport justice. A few spoke up in Kylie’s defense, suggesting that perhaps Kylie wasn’t trying to appeal to the track-and-field star, but instead was trying to relate to your average runner.
Either way, the situation is reminiscent of one of Kendall’s photoshoots, in which she posed as a ballerina on the cover of Vogue Spain last October. The shoot was slammed by several dancers, including Dance Moms star Abby Lee Miller. It just proves that no matter what kind of shoot Kendall or Kylie participate in, people are going to have opinions about it.

If Kylie Jenner were wearing activewear, would it make you want to purchase and wear that same activewear for your workout? Puma is certainly hoping so! The 18-year-old whom everyone seems to have an opinion about, and who has come to stand as a symbol for an entire social-media-obsessed generation, is the new spokeswoman for the brand.
Jenner tweeted the first image from the campaign Sunday, in which she is showcasing the “Puma Fierce,” a “lightweight trainer with zero excuses,” which is definitely copy she came up with on her own and not something e-mailed to her by a rep after a 54-message e-mail thread.
She looks pretty relaxed and comfortable, honestly! Like, we could imagine her lounging around in this outfit for a few hours, post-workout, and texting with her friends and munching on some fruit and Snapchatting her dogs as they run around her.
This campaign has received more press than the typical celebrity ad campaign, due to—it all comes back to Kanye these days, doesn’t it?—a Kanye West tweet. Jenner’s brother-in-law tweeted, back in early February, when the Kylie-Puma deal was first rumored, “1000% there will never be a Kylie Puma anything. That’s on my family! 1000% Kylie is on Yeezy team!!!” (West is affiliated with Puma rival Adidas.) Kylie—who is garnering a rumored $1 million for the campaign—signed with the brand anyway (the wheels apparently were already very much in motion when West expressed his disapproval).
With Kylie and Rihanna in its arsenal, Puma is definitely asserting itself as a leader in the “Female Celebrities Whose Instagram Posts You Almost Always Screenshot and Send in Multiple Group-Text Threads” space.

When you choose Kylie Jenner as the face of a new campaign, the first logical method to promote it is definitely the social platform she prefers: Snapchat. Besides being a Kardashian, Kylie is also a model, businesswoman and Tyga’s girlfriend, and she shares every moment of her life through the social network.
Last Friday PUMA decided to follow the same logic, sharing some behind-the-scene videos and pictures of Kylie’s first advertising campaign through the social network, cleverly disguising the shoes with emoticons.
Yesterday, to everyone’s surprise, Kylie posted on her Instagram profile the photograph of her first official campaign for the brand, where she informed her fans that the PUMA Fierce, an ultra lightweight trainer, will be available at the brand’s stores and on puma.com from April 1st.

The collaboration between the brand and Kylie was officially announced last month, when Adam Petrick – PUMA’s Global Director of Brand and Marketing – released the following statement to E! News: “I’m pleased and excited to confirm that PUMA is indeed working with Kylie Jenner. Kylie will be featured in the brand’s Spring/Summer women’s training campaign launching in April 2016”.
Despite her young age, Kylie is already one of the most influential women in the industry. Expect to see her in other advertising campaigns soon…
