The 4 Beauty Products Olivia Culpo Won’t Travel Without

Olivia Culpo’s beauty looks are always flawless. From her effortlessly tousled waves to her fresh-faced skin, the former Miss Universe always makes it look easy. Lucky for us, she’s generous about sharing her beauty secrets.

Last month, Culpo stopped by the Colgate Optic White Beauty Studio to relax and recharge during the Tribeca Film Festival and dished on her top beauty products. “I am constantly traveling, but I like to keep the same beauty routine, regardless of where I am,” she said. Got your credit card ready? Here are Culpo’s four tried-and-true beauty must-haves. (And they’re super affordable!)

1. Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 20

Culpo swears by Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer—and if her effortless glow is any indication of how well it works—we’re so in. The ultimate twofer, this tinted moisturizer is the best of both worlds: anti-aging skincare and long-lasting makeup. Containing a powerful complex of vitamins E and C, this moisturizer fights free radicals while its sodium hyaluronate hydrates and plumps skin. (Related: How to Protect Your Skin from Free Radical Damage)

Plus, the lightweight, non-comedogenic formula provides a gorgeous tint of color to enhance skin without looking (or feeling) too heavy. And, it’s gentle enough for even the most sensitive skin types. Did we mention it contains broad spectrum SPF 20 UVB/UVA sunscreen, too?

One shopper raves: “This gives my skin exactly what it needs—moisture, coverage and SPF protection—in one easy step. It’s cut down my get ready routine by about 5 minutes (my husband is shocked!). But, the best aspect of this product is its coverage. I have very uneven skin, thanks to hyper-pigmentation and old acne scars and LM Tinted Moisturizer glides over it, blending it in and making my skin tone miraculously appear even and impeccably natural.”

2. Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Wipes

If you’re always on the go like Culpo, you need products that make your life easier. Her fave no fuss go-to? Neutrogena makeup removal wipes. In one step, these pre-moistened towelettes remove dirt, oil, and 99.3 pecent of makeup—even waterproof mascara—without harsh scrubbing or rinsing. And they’re alcohol-free, so they won’t dry out your skin or irritate sensitive eyes.

The best part (other than the resealable, convenient packaging) is the drugstore price tag—a pack of three (21-count each) will run you less than $15—so you can leave one at work, one at home, and one for on-the-go. 3. Colgate Optic White High Impact Toothpaste

If you ever wondered how the model achieves her million-dollar smile, this is it. Formulated with hydrogen peroxide, Colgate Optic White High Impact Toothpaste penetrates below the tooth’s surface to whiten from the inside out. When you brush twice a day for six weeks, your pearly whites are guaranteed to twinkle–up to four shades visibly whiter and brighter. Plus, it’s safe for enamel. (P.S. Here’s Kim Kardashian’s secret to super white teeth.)

One happy reviewer gushes: “So yesterday, I had two separate people, on two separate occasions, in two separate locations, who didn’t know each other, tell me I had the whitest teeth they’d ever seen. I’m on my 3rd tube of High Impact White. With comments like that, I’ll keep using this product!”

Buy It, $11 (3 pack), amazon.com

4. Kopari Coconut Lip Glossy

For luscious lips with the perfect amount of shine, Culpo is crazy about Kopari’s Coconut Lip Glossy. Made with 100 percent pure, organic coconut oil, shea butter, and squalene, this ultra-hydrating, non-sticky lip balm has triple the moisturizing power to nourish and smooth your kisser (buh-bye, chapped lips!). And the tropical coconut scent will give you serious #beachvibes.

One customer writes: “Beautiful gloss finish without the stickiness. Keeps the lips hydrated and supple all day. Plus, the warm coconut smell is divine!”

Need another reason? This non-GMO, vegan, cruelty-free lip balm is formulated minus parabens, silicone, and phthalates, earning Sephora’s coveted Clean Seal.

Culpo loves the classic Neutrogena makeup removing wipes, but she boosts their power by dipping the wipe in a jar of Trader Joe’s coconut oil. “It works so well to get any stubborn mascara,” she says. She then moves on to a powder enzyme cleanser from Dr. Barbara Sturm. She pours the powder into her palm and mixes it with water to form a paste, then works that into her skin. Culpo says the product prevents her from over-exfoliating, which was causing breakouts on one side of her face. “It’s really fun too, it’s lightweight because it’s powder,” she says. Culpo rinses her skin clean and pats it dry with a towel. “See? There’s more makeup. That’s why I do this and the wipe, because I want to be sure I get everything off, especially before bed,” she adds.

When Culpo’s been traveling or breaking out, she turns to an exfoliating peel pad from Sanitas or Dr. Dennis Gross. She wipes it over her skin a few times to instantly brighten and gently exfoliate. To add moisture back into her skin, she turns to an “extremely hydrating” balm from Skin Design London and a few drops of La Mer’s hydrating oil. “I find that when I’m breaking out, contrary to popular belief it’s not because my skin is super oily, it’s because my skin is really dehydrated,” she says. “So my pores are acting up and they’re not cooperating with life, airplanes, and lack of sleep.”

Watch the rest of the video above to see all the products Culpo uses before she unwinds for bed and add them to your cart. Don’t forget to subscribe to BAZAAR’s YouTube channel so you never miss an episode of Go To Bed With Me, This Look is Money, Little Black Book, Heel Hunters, and Food Diaries.

It’s no surprise that the former Miss USA, fashion influencer (her guest judging spot on Project Runway was so chic) and all round goddess Olivia Culpo has her beauty routine down.

You’d be forgiven for thinking that that face is all about crazy expensive treatments (Miranda Kerr’s leech facial we’re looking at you) and serums that tally up to more than our monthly rent. But you’d be wrong.

In fact, the 25-year-old mega babe has the most zen beauty routine we’ve ever seen from an A-list celeb.

Talking to The Cut, Culpo revealed the key to her insanely glowy skin is actually something we’ve never been all that good at – yup, we’re talking about meditation.

‘I usually wake up around 8 a.m., and I start the day by meditating. I’ll just do that for 15 minutes if I hopefully have time,’ she disclosed.

Getty Images

Explaining further, the actress said, ‘I started meditating when I was 18 years old. My mum actually introduced it to me, and my older sister is a yoga instructor. I’m so grateful to them for introducing me to that and getting on the meditation bandwagon because I think it’s really difficult to get yourself to do it and be consistent with it.

‘I do fall in and out of it — it’s really hard to do it every single day like you’re supposed to — but I find that when I do take 15 minutes in the morning and 15 minutes before bed, it makes a huge difference in my day-to-day life.’

Count us, impressed.

But the next stage of her beauty routine is something we can get on board with. Forget La Mer, Olivia Culpo’s skincare is all about the coconut oil.

‘Drinking a lot of water is one of my biggest beauty secrets, and then another hack that I like is coconut oil,’ she told The Cut, ‘You can use it as a face moisturiser, you can use it to whiten your teeth, because it’s antibacterial and will pull all the plaque. You can also use it to avoid dry skin on your scalp or improve the ends of your hair.’

Her secret to going low-key on the preening regime? Live by the words of Audrey Hepburn of course:

‘I’m going to tell you one of my favourite quotes by Audrey Hepburn: “The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart.” I love that because it just kind of encompasses the idea that everyone knows that true beauty comes from the inside and is so much more than what you see on the surface. I’ve always kept that in mind my whole life.’

Olivia’s icon might be Audrey Hepburn, but we have a feeling we’ll be channelling zen Culpo vibes from now on.

You may not have noticed—especially under heavy looks like this—but Olivia Culpo has a seriously gorgeous complexion. And as you’ll soon see, she really works at it!

The 27-year-old former Miss Universe turned actress and “influencer” is a self-proclaimed beauty junkie who has struggled with both cystic acne and dryness, due to frequent flying. But even looking at her skin close-up, you’d never know it.

“In my early 20s, I began experiencing breakouts from stress, poor diet, travelling, and not getting enough sleep,” she told Byrdie. “Stress affects every area of life including sleep, hormones and diet. Travel can be really taxing on the body overall, and, for me, I found it was really drying out my skin. I began to develop cystic acne. After making a few lifestyle changes and switching up my skincare routine, my skin has been crystal clear.”

No kidding!

Surprisingly, Olivia is not one of those celebs who rely on a carefully-edited routine from one brand. Instead, she mixes and matches high-end products with natural remedies and tons of beauty gadgets.

Here’s what’s involved in her routine:

Olivia’s Morning Skincare Routine

“I don’t do too much in the morning. I actually don’t even wash my face, just rinse it with water.”

2. Eye Creams:

Kate Somerville Goat Milk De-Puffing Eye Balm

Kate Somerville Goat Milk De-Puffing Eye Balm: “The first thing I do when I get up is use Kate Somerville’s under-eye de-puff stick. This is really great for under the eyes. So I would recommend this for anyone who wakes up feeling puffy or having dark circles. This works really well.”

Dr. Barbara Sturm Eye Cream

Dr. Barbara Sturm Eye Cream: “After that I will use my eye cream. My favourite eye cream is by Dr. Barbara Sturm. The reason why I love this is because it’s a really, really great texture. It feels almost super whipped, like a really, really whipped yogurt or something. So it’s really absorbent and it goes into the skin really nicely.”

Olivia’s Skin Treatments

Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Alpha Beta Extra Strength Daily Peel

Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Alpha Beta Extra Strength Daily Peel: “I like to use these Alpha Beta peels when I’m travelling. When I get off a plane and I feel kind of disgusting and like, super oily or like my skin could use a layer stripped, these are really great. Face Masks:

Dermovia Lace Your Face Rejuvenating Collagen Shapewear Facial Mask

Dermovia Lace Your Face Rejuvenating Collagen Shapewear Facial Mask: “My favourite masks at the moment are Dermovia lace masks. GlamGlow FlashMud Brightening Treatment

GlamGlow FlashMud Brightening Treatment: “Another one of my favourite masks is by GlamGlow. This is an amazing exfoliator, but you don’t want to use it every day because you don’t want to over-exfoliate and dry out the skin.”

Hanacure The All-in-One Facial

Hanacure The All-in-One Facial: “Hanacure masks are super uplifting and pore-tightening. It’s literally the best and most uplifting mask I’ve ever tried.”

SK-II Facial Treatment Mask

SK-II Facial Treatment Mask: “I layer on masks and sometimes I’ll even sleep in one! SK-II makes the best sheet mask. I definitely use masks more frequently when I’m travelling.”

“I love making a face mask out of avocado and honey. The vitamin E in the avocado is really, really hydrating and the honey is antibacterial. I notice that in the winter my skin is way more sensitive and I get red more easily, and this helps with that, too.”

Light Therapy:

Déesse Pro LED Mask

LED mask: “Another trick is… light therapy. Red light helps with stimulating collagen and this is something that I’ll use just for a natural glow. It’s for 20 minutes; you look absolutely insane. If you want to scare your boyfriend, it will work. And then he’ll see how beautiful you look and he’ll want to use it.”

Nurse Jamie: “Facials at Nurse Jamie LA are on another level.”

Olivia’s Diet, Exercise and Lifestyle

“To help with my breakouts, I started by changing my diet. I tried to incorporate more greens and cut out dairy. This made such a difference. To be honest, I have a major sweet tooth and I love ice cream. Ice cream has both sugar and dairy, which can be really hard for your body to digest. Once I cut this out of my diet for a while and added more greens, my skin began to clear up.”

“I also try to be cautious about monitoring my salt and alcohol intake when I have a big event coming up. That stuff just comes right out and shows up on your skin.”

Water:

“I drink about a gallon of water every day. It seems really basic, but it makes such a big difference.”

Supplements:

Olly Flawless Complexion

Olly Flawless Complexion: “I take them every day, and that plus my regular routine has made my skin look better than it has in months. I think it’s because are packed with purifying antioxidants.”

Exercise:

“I recently started to go to a personal trainer and that’s really been a game-changer for me—I’ve seen a real difference in my body. That’s just a couple of times a week though, so on the other days I’ll go to SoulCycle, FlyBarre or Pilates, or I’ll just run on the treadmill or go on a hike.”

“Yoga has really been a lifesaver! It has really helped with relaxation, sleep and balance between work and social life.”

Meditation:

“I started meditating when I was 18 years old. My mom actually introduced it to me, and my older sister is a yoga instructor. I do fall in and out of it—it’s really hard to do it every single day like you’re supposed to—but I find that when I do take 15 minutes in the morning and 15 minutes before bed, it makes a huge difference in my day-to-day life.”

Like many of us, former Miss USA Olivia Culpo is constantly on the go. The fashion influencer recently teamed up with Degree, and the Cut caught up with her to chat about her beauty routine, 15-minute meditation, her orange-juice habit, and her favorite Audrey Hepburn quote.

My morning routine: I usually wake up around 8 a.m., and I start the day by meditating. I’ll just do that for 15 minutes if I hopefully have time. I usually drink orange juice in the morning — really random, but I just love orange juice in the morning. Then I’ll take my vitamins. I love to use the Kate Somerville De-Puffing Eye Cream, and I’ll always put on a SPF. I also put on my deodorant, which now, I’m loving the Degree Ultraclear Black + White Dry Spray, because I can get ready from the gym and even sometimes in the car without worrying about any marks on my clothes. I don’t really wear too much makeup in the morning, unless I’m going somewhere, but usually I’m just going to a workout. I’ll use a tinted moisturizer, but no heavy makeup in the daytime.

How I sweat: I like to switch it up, and work out with a friend. Right now I’ve been really loving Soul Cycle and I do pilates very often. I love to do yoga, particularly outside in California because it’s so beautiful this time of year (and pretty much all year). I love to run. I also work out with a trainer sometimes, and that consists of more circuit training. I’m a big barre-class fan also. So there’s a lot of different workouts that I like to do. To me, it’s really important to just keep it fun, and that means adding a lot of variety and not sticking to one workout.

My best wellness advice: I’m going to tell you one of my favorite quotes by Audrey Hepburn: “The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart.” I love that because it just kind of encompasses the idea that everyone knows that true beauty comes from the inside and is so much more than what you see on the surface. I’ve always kept that in mind my whole life.

How I take care of my skin before bed: At night I have to wash my face with a Clarisonic. It’s the only thing that really can get all the dirt off my face, and especially makeup, because it can be really difficult to get out of your pores when it’s really heavy TV makeup. So I start with a Clarisonic and then I use Kate Somerville Gentle Daily Face Wash. I’ve also been using Dr. Sturm serum and Charlotte Tilbury Magic Night Cream. For under-eye, I’ll either use Charlotte Tilbury or Dr. Sturm, but either one of those products for me is really good. Another thing I like to use at night for any breakouts or red spots is tea tree oil, because it helps lighten the red marks, produce new cells in the skin, and get rid of any sort of redness from any sort of breakouts I might have. And if I’m really, really dry or traveling, I’ll use Aquaphor on top of my night cream. There are also a few masks I use throughout the week. For a hydrating mask, I’ve been using SK-II Facial Treatment Mask, and then for more of a peel, I useDr. Dennis Gross’s Alpha Beta Peel.

My wellness shortcut: Drinking a lot of water is one of my biggest beauty secrets, and then another hack that I like is coconut oil. You can use it as a face moisturizer, you can use it to whiten your teeth, because it’s antibacterial and will pull all the plaque. You can also use it to avoid dry skin on your scalp or improve the ends of your hair.

How I eat when I’m alone: My go-to meal when I’m alone is usually on-the-go. Having the opportunity to sit down and enjoy a meal is usually when I’m with another person. It’s typically a salad of some sort with vegetables, chicken, or salmon. It helps sustain energy and I won’t feel really lethargic after having it because it’s light and there are a lot of nutrients. I also love Kind bars, raw cashews, bananas, and apples.

On meditating: I started meditating when I was 18 years old. My mom actually introduced it to me, and my older sister is a yoga instructor. I’m so grateful to them for introducing me to that and getting on the meditation bandwagon because I think it’s really difficult to get yourself to do it and be consistent with it. I do fall in and out of it — it’s really hard to do it every single day like you’re supposed to — but I find that when I do take 15 minutes in the morning and 15 minutes before bed, it makes a huge difference in my day-to-day life.

Olivia Culpo reveals her beauty secrets

Olivia Culpo is living her American dream. The beautiful brunette from Rhode Island achieved her childhood dream when she was crowned Miss Universe in 2012 while representing her home country, the United States. Today, Olivia is a fashion and beauty influencer, who is pictured on the front row of every international fashion show (in fact she was jetting off to Paris Fashion Week straight after we met her in Dubai.) She’s also an actress, model, presenter and she even plays the cello – you name it, she does it. Aside from sharing her style tips on her lifestyle site (oliviaculpo.com), she also recently launched her own fashion line. Looks like nothing is going to burst the 25-year-old’s bubble.

Friday caught up with Olivia in Dubai as she announced this month’s Beauty POP DXB festival (more about that later). In an email interview, Olivia shares her secrets to making fashion and beauty pop.

What differences did you notice about beauty in the UAE compared with the US?

I think beauty is everywhere and I see a lot of beauty in the people in UAE because they are so warm and inviting. I also love that the UAE loves glam. I am that way too. Ever since I was a little girl I loved to play with my mum’s make-up.

Did you purchase and beauty products while you were here?

I didn’t have too much time, but I did stock up on Huda Beauty. I love her products. The lashes, the lipliners – such great-quality make-up.

What’s the one beauty product you can’t live without?

I cannot say just one, but I will say I bring a lip liner with me everywhere. I think a little liner goes a long way when you don’t have time to do a full face.

What’s your morning make-up routine when you’re not working?

I wear so much make-up when I work that I like to give my skin a rest. I usually use a tinted moisturiser and a little concealer, if needed, under eyes and on any blemishes. I always curl my lashes and do a quick groom on my eyebrows with a mascara wand. Finally, I use a light-coloured lip liner and fill in with chapstick or tinted gloss.

What about your skincare regime?

Believe it or not, often times I don’t wash my face in the AM with soap. I feel like that strips the natural oils. At night I cleanse with products from SKII and Dr Barbara Sturm and use a really nice cream – Charlotte Tilbury and La Mer have great ones. I aways make sure I use suncare before going out for the day.

Are there any skin treatments you regularly have?

I love Nurse Jamie. All her treatments and products are amazing.

If you could change one thing about your face what would it be?

When I was younger, I would have said that I would like to change my thick eyebrows because I got teased for them, but now I love them. So I am hesitant to say I would change anything. I also find that people are most beautiful when they are comfortable in their own skin. Uniqueness is beautiful.

What, for you, makes a good make-up artist?

I love working with different make-up artists because they each have their “tricks”! Hung is so amazing at eyes, Sir John has fun and different ideas, such as the purple eye we did for the Golden Globes, while Mary Phillips does beautiful skin. My go-to make-up artist is Liz Castellanos and we are always experimenting with different trends and looks. She is also so fun and easy to be around – that is really important.

And a good hair stylist?

Justine Marjan and Jen Atkin are two of my faves. They are amazing because they can do so many different hair styles and it never gets boring.

Do you know how to contour?

I think so! I had to learn how to do make-up when I was doing the Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants, so I studied all the different methods for everything.

What’s your go-to lip colour?

During the day I often do a plum lip, but at night I love a bright red lip. It adds so much to the overall look.

What’s your favourite beauty trend for this season?

I really like this no make-up trend, which looks very fresh. I always love a cat eye and I have seen them more often lately.

You always look amazing on social media (Olivia has 2.6million Instagram followers). What’s your secret for taking a great selfie?

The most important thing is good lighting. That changes everything.

After Dubai you went straight to Paris Fashion Week – how was that?

It was exhausting and fun! Fashion month can be pretty busy but it is so inspirational to see so much creativity in one place. I love to come home and play with some of the trends that I saw on the runway. I also just released a capsule collection on revolve.com called Marled by Olivia Culpo, and I get ideas for designing my own stuff when I am at the fashion shows.

What was your highlight?

A few of my friends were there, so we got to have some fun girl lunches and I got to see some of the sights. I also attended a dinner with Virgil Abloh . He is so smart and talented and it is an honour to get to spend time with people like that and learn from them.

Which fashion trends should we be trying this season?

Pinks and neons, small-frame sunglasses, sneakers, asymmetric earrings and statement hats. I list my favourite trends and give ideas on how to recreate them on my site.

Who is your favourite designer?

It changes all the time, but right now, I love Off-White and Gucci.

Ever since being crowned Miss Universe in 2012, Rhode Island native Olivia Culpo has been causing serious skin envy around the world. Now 27, the model/influencer credits her previous pageant life with inspiring her love of a solid skincare routine.

“When I was modeling and competing in Miss Universe I was using so much makeup and I started to really understand what it can do to your skin if you sleep in it and don’t let your skin breathe,” she said. And what would happen if she wasn’t diligent? “I used to get cystic acne and I hated trying to cover it up—and it can hurt! Once I started being regimented about my skincare that cleared up.”

Although Olivia is a self-admitted fan of a skincare routine, she prefers to take more of a holistic approach to her skin health. “I believe skincare starts from the inside out so I take care in what I eat and drink because I know that can affect your skin too,” she says. That includes drinking “tons of water”—”I see the biggest impact from drinking a gallon of water a day,” she says. It makes sense then that she says her skincare mantra is “stay hydrated!”

Olivia sees skincare as an act of self-love. “I am a big believer in self-care overall which means taking time to work out, meditate, spend the day at the spa, etc. And that includes taking care of my skin,” she explains.

Speaking of the spa, Olivia loves facials. “I try to go whenever I can. Sometimes I go to the spa at my hotel when I am on the road but I also have my favorite places in LA and NYC like Joanna Vargas and Dr. Barbara Sturm,” she says. “I am always open to trying new facials and have experimented with laser and microdermabrasion.” But one facial she isn’t so eager to try out: “I heard there is a penis facial in NYC—what?!”

If you’re not as skincare obsessed as Olivia, she has some advice as to why you should stick with it: “It takes some discipline, but it’s worth it in the end,” she says. “It’s easier to take care of your skin every day than try to cover up blemishes later—although sometimes that happens no matter what you do!”

And her biggest skincare secret? “Confidence and happiness make skin glow.”

Olivia Culpo likes her Clarisonic. Like, really likes her Clarisonic. To the point where the brand asked her to help promote their latest holiday launch—the Pink Mia Fit Cleansing Gift Set. But it turns out the gorgeous starlet doesn’t just love her battery-operated cleansing machine—she loves all things skin care. She knows her serums from her boosters, her moisturizers from her oils, and can rattle off brand names as well as any beauty editor. We sat down with Culpo to talk about her favorite complexion-savers and what gets her in the holiday spirit.

Tell us about your day-to-day skin-care routine.

“I don’t do too much in the morning. I actually don’t even wash my face, just rinse it with water. Then I start with a moisturizer that has SPF in it, and sometimes mix in some of the Clarins Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster drops. At night—every single night—I use my Clarisonic and a cleanser, like the Murad Essential-C cleanser, to take off my makeup. I’ll use a serum or an oil and then a heavier cream like the

You travel a lot. Does this routine change at all when you’re traveling?

“I try to keep it pretty consistent, but I definitely use masks more frequently when I’m traveling. Unless I’ve been really good about drinking water, I can see a difference in my skin as soon as I get off of a plane…it’s dryer, a little gray, I see fine lines where I usually don’t. So I layer on masks and sometimes I’ll even sleep in one! SKII makes the best sheet mask, and I also like the Kat Burki Hibiscus Antioxidant Face Mask.”

You definitely know your skin care! What’s your number one skin-care tip?

“Drink water! It seems really basic, but it makes such a big difference. I also try to be cautious about monitoring my salt and alcohol intake when I have a big event coming up. That stuff just comes right out and shows up on your skin.”

So, if you were stuck on a desert island, what’s the one product you’d take with you?

“It’d be hard to leave behind the Clarisonic. Nothing cleans my skin as well as it does. Even if I go a day without using it, I see a difference in my skin. It removes makeup so well and so much better than your hands alone. I don’t have to worry about getting a blemish or the makeup clogging my pores.”

This Is How Model Olivia Culpo Keeps Her Skin Looking Beautiful Even After a Long Plane Ride

As a busy model, actress and influencer — with 3.4 million followers on Instagram — Olivia Culpo is often traveling far and wide.

She went to Paris Fashion Week in September where she stopped by the Redemption and Balmain shows, and in October she was in New York to help open fitness brand P.Volve’s new studio in Soho. And as a workout devotee, the former Miss USA winner doesn’t let a busy schedule (or jet lag) get in the way of her fitness or beauty regimes.

Cue her partnership with the fitness studio that also offers an on-demand streaming workout and in addition to their classes in New York City.

“I love P.volve because it’s all about stretching and toning the muscles,” she said. “This workout is all about lengthening and I love that look for my body type. The p.ball targets the inner and outer thigh areas really well. You don’t think you are moving that much, and then the next day you are so sore!”

Travel + Leisure spoke with the model about some of her tricks for staying healthy while traveling, what she does to keep her skin in check after a long plane ride, and the one thing she absolutely cannot travel without.

Image zoom Olivia Culpo Getty Images

T+L: You travel a lot for work. How do you stay healthy when your normal routine is disrupted?

Culpo: Traveling can be so hard for keeping up your healthy living but it’s important to practice everything in moderation. I definitely can get major jet lag and even a bit homesick when I travel a lot. I have found that if I double my water intake —including incorporating coconut water for more hydration — and I workout I actually feel better. I might head to the hotel gym to run a bit and stream P.volve so I am staying toned. Oh, and I love to visit the hotel spa and steam room!

T+L: Do you have any great skincare tricks for when you are traveling?

Culpo: It’s so important to keep your skincare routine up while you are traveling. I use Laura Mercier tinted SPF and Vital Proteins Collagen Powder. Your skin can get confused if you are sticking to a routine until you travel, and then you switch to whatever you have in travel size bottles. It takes a long time, but it’s worth transferring your products into travel bottles if you are not checking a bag. If you are checking a bag (or two) then pack everything!

T+L: How do you incorporate your wellness practices into your life when you travel or just when you have a super busy schedule?

Culpo: Sometimes it’s about listening to your body and choosing to get extra sleep while traveling rather than working out or vice versa. I always travel with workout equipment and love the P.volve p.ball and p.band so I can do it from anywhere, anytime. My overall life motto is moderation. There is a time for out so you might as well make it easy for yourself. There is a time for sleep so put on a sleep mask and relax. And there is a time to get out and walk around a new city and try some new foods. Balance everything as best as you can.

T+L: Do you do anything beauty, hair or skincare wise on the plane so when you get off you look fresh-faced?

Culpo: I love to travel with a facial spray to spritz on my face right when I land. Right now, I am using the Dr. Barbara Sturm hyaluronic acid spray and Summer Friday’s mask.

T+L: What’s the one thing you cannot travel without?

Culpo: Believe it or not, I really love to travel with my own pillow. It helps me sleep anywhere and keeps a sense of home with me no matter where I go. I also love to travel with a SILK eye mask, and I am the queen of snacks. If you look in any of my carry on bags, you are guaranteed to find trail mix, a granola bar, or M&Ms.

T+L: What do you like to do on the plane?

Culpo: I usually use flights to catch up on sleep. But if I am not sleeping I love to read a good book, and journal. It’s the perfect time to shut off your phone and decompress.

T+L: Do you have a go-to plane outfit?

Culpo: I always travel in something comfortable but I try to make it stylish. You can wear sweats, but if they match and you have a crisp white sneaker and a nice bag you still look polished. I typically sleep on planes, so being comfortable is key.

T+L: Do you have any tricks for beating jet lag?

Culpo: Sleep!! And LOTS of water. I also drink AmazingGreens electrolyte tablets while flying to make up for the dehydration of flying.

T+L: What brand and size is your go-to carry-on?

Culpo: Right now I am using a big Louis Vuitton Carry All bag. I have so many suitcases. Some of them could fit a body I swear! It’s great because I have been known to overpack!

T+L: What’s the best trip you’ve taken recently? What is the next big trip you really want to go on?

Culpo: Paris Fashion week was amazing. I love seeing what all of the designers have created for the upcoming season, and I am always blown away by the shows — and the food! Next trip, I’d love to go somewhere tropical! I’ve always wanted to go to the Maldives. The beaches look incredible and the water is so clear! I am happiest at a beach.

3 Skincare Rules Olivia Culpo Lives By

A post shared by Olivia Culpo (@oliviaculpo) on Jul 1, 2018 at 3:43pm PDT

If there’s one person we’re always drooling over, it’s Olivia Culpo. She’s absolutely stunning, her skin is flawless, and her sense of style is so on point – we literally want everything she wears! Even though she’s constantly traveling, waking up for 4 am call times, photo shoots and filming, she still manages to glow her way through life. Which got us thinking, what’s her secret? We had to find out everything: from her ride-or-die products to her three life-changing beauty secrets. Here’s what she told us:

Olivia’s Top 3 Beauty Tips Of All Time:

Olivia knows that the secret to gorgeous-looking skin is drinking plenty of water (you should aim for at least 2 liters a day). Without it, your skin can look dull, your fine lines will be more noticeable, and your pores will also appear more dilated. And to top it off, when your body is dehydrated to compensate for the lack of moisture, your body will try to retain any water, so you’re more likely to feel bloated, while your face will be puffy. So, the lesson here is: drink up.

2. Get plenty of sleep

No matter how many miracle creams you use, nothing has the same transformative powers as a good night’s sleep. According to the American Academy, one in three adults don’t get enough sleep. As a consequence of too little sleep, you’ll have dark under eyes, inflammation, and your skin won’t have the time it needs to fully repair. Check out this post to find out more on how to get the most out of your beauty sleep.

3. Always wear sunscreen

We realize that applying sunscreen every day may seem like a bit of a chore – especially on a cloudy day! But actually, 90% of how your skin ages is completely within your control, and it’s directly related to sun exposure. So, applying sunscreen every morning, with SPF 30 and 5-star UVA blockers is essential. Just make sure you apply it before your primer, and twenty minutes before you leave the house, as it takes this long to activate. Read this post for more tips on SPF.

Olivia said that this serum is her number one go-to, and we totally understand why. It has a high concertation of hyaluronic molecules, providing long-lasting hydration. The formula is simple, yet effective – it’ll replenish the moisture reservoirs in your skin, leaving it feeling soft and plump. If used regularly it can even help to minimize the appearance of fine lines.

If there’s one K-beauty rule that everyone needs to know, it’s the importance of using a sheet mask regularly, and Olivia feels that. She told us she’s always using the SK-II masks wherever she goes – even on the airplane. These cotton masks are amazing at locking in moisture while providing your skin with essential vitamins, amino acids, and minerals that’ll leave your skin looking radiant AF. We realize they’re kinda pricey, but we promise they’re totally worth it.

Olivia Culpo’s Travel Skincare Routine Calls On This $7 Drugstore Find

Olivia Culpo is a jet setter in every sense of the word. The model, who recently partnered with Bacardi to celebrate the brand’s newest flavor addition — a summer-perfect lime — has been all over the world, from Tokyo to Australia to France. It should come as no surprise, then, that the seasoned globe trotter has perfected the art of packing and nailed down a travel skincare routine that’s actually quite simple. Better yet, Culpo’s holy-grail beauty product (which she brings with her everywhere she goes) is actually hiding in your nearest drugstore aisle — and it won’t cost you more than $7.

Traveling can be quite stressful, from figuring out what to pack in your suitcase to dealing with the side effects it can have on your skin — lack of sleep and dry cabin air can result in dull, tired-looking skin. But there are ways of making everything more manageable, and for Culpo, it starts with a perfectly curated beauty bag (and a well-packed suitcase, too).

Culpo’s travel skincare routine is one you’ll want to pencil into memory — and luckily, it includes a wallet-friendly mainstay that might already be on your shelf right now. “I travel with Neutrogena wipes everywhere I go,” Culpo shares with The Zoe Report. “They’re just easy for taking off makeup.”

“They’re the best for taking off makeup, and they also leave your skin dewy, so it doesn’t dry anything out,” she adds. Culpo also recommends bringing along a hydrating mist to brighten and illuminate skin mid or post flight.

Unsurprisingly, Culpo’s brilliant beauty find isn’t the only travel hack she’s discovered. Listen up, over-packers: This model knows a thing or two about curating a well-rounded suitcase that isn’t overflowing with clothes.

“One of my biggest tips for packing is sticking to a theme,” Culpo shares. “Basically, base it off of what color tones you want to go with, and then pack a bunch of things that are in that same story. Otherwise, it can get a little bit difficult to fit everything.”

Culpo’s warm-weather plans are sure to include a lot more traveling (and a host of summer festivities, where she’ll definitely be serving her favorite cocktail: a Bacardi lime cooler in a carved-out watermelon).

So, tackle your upcoming vacation plans with ease by keeping Culpo’s tips and beauty buys in mind. Ahead, shop the Neutrogena wipes she packs every time she travels, plus The Zoe Report’s favorite hydrating mists and face masks for when you need a dose of moisture post flight.

Ever since she broke onto the Instagram influencer scene three years ago, “beauty” and “fashion” have been synonymously tied with Olivia Culpo’s identity. And though it may look like Culpo was always destined to work in the beauty space—she’s a Miss Rhode Island, USA, and Universe winner—the 25-year-old will tell you that her upbringing was far from the designer outfits and picture-perfect selfies you see on Instagram.

Growing up, Culpo considered herself “a late bloomer,” an experience that made her easy prey for bullying and body-shaming. “I was super chubby and I had so much baby fat,” says Culpo. “Kids would make fun of me all the time in elementary school. They would say, ‘Olivia, you’re fat’ or mean things like that. It wasn’t very nice.”

Bullies also teased Culpo for the thickness of her eyebrows, which have ironically become her most complimented body part.“I was always made fun of, especially for my eyebrows,” Culpo says. “Everybody used to make fun of my eyebrows, and now, they’re one of the things that everybody says they love.”

Photo: Charlie Roina

And though Culpo eventually grew into her skin—at 12 years old, she had a “major growth spurt,” shed her baby fat, and sprouted “seven inches”—she recalls the bullying as a defining experience that shaped her perspective on beauty. “At this point , there’s beauty in all different shapes and sizes,” Culpo says. “I have much more of an understanding of how body insecurities come about and how it’s difficult for people to feel comfortable in the skin that they have because they are different and people make them feel bad for being different.”

Everybody used to make fun of my eyebrows, and now, they’re one of the things that everybody says they love.

Growing up in a household where her mom didn’t put a single drop of makeup on, Culpo didn’t start dabbling in fashion and beauty until her late teens, when she would experiment with her older sister’s hair products and spend her weekends shopping the bargain racks at TJ Maxx. “My mom wears no makeup. She never bought any makeup,” Culpo says. “My parents were never interested in fashion, especially my mom—no way.”

Photo: Getty Images

It didn’t take long for Culpo to fall in love. “I became really interested in clothes and fashion and expressing myself through different outfits and hair and makeup,” Culpo says. “I was kind of obsessed with the idea of transformation, and how hair and makeup make that happen.”

It’s really easy to get stuck in what other people are telling you you are.

But despite her newfound love for fashion and beauty, Culpo had always harbored a dream of becoming an actress. At 18, after Googling the careers of A-list stars like Halle Berry and Vanessa Williams and learning that their paths began with pageantry, Culpo entered in the 2012 Miss New Rhode Island pageant. And though she eventually won, Culpo had her obstacles.

“My parents really weren’t happy about me doing a pageant. They thought it was kind of narcissistic,” Culpo says. “I also didn’t have the resources a lot of other girls did. So I rented a red dress online for $20. It was too short and there was a hole in the back.”

Photo: Getty Images

However, Culpo’s hurdles and lack of experience didn’t seem to deter her. In December 2012, a few months after snagging the crown of Miss USA, Culpo made history as the first American in 15 years to win the title of Miss Universe. But it wasn’t the crown or numerous brand deals that became Culpo’s most prized takeaway—it was her Instagram.

At this point , there’s beauty in all different shapes and sizes.

Culpo’s Instagram career began in 2012, shortly after winning Miss USA, when the organization created an account for her to promote its brand. She started like any other Instagram user, “posting mindlessly” about her coffees, her pets, and her occasional OOTD. It wasn’t until two years later, when she realized her outfits were some of her most liked posts, did her following explode. “I guess I realized people were following me because they liked to see what I was wearing, eating, thinking, drinking, and I started to use it as a platform to communicate with people what I thought they would be interested in,” Culpo says. “Before, I was just posting mindlessly. Then I started to become a little more strategic because I realized that people really were taking away something from it.”

Photo: Getty Images

Culpo has gone on to leverage her Instagram—which is currently at 2.1 million followers—to land a clothing line with PrettyLittleThing, a collection with Le Tote, and numerous sponsorships with big-names beauty brands like Bare Minerals and Clarins. On October 13, she’ll star in the coming-of-age drama, “American Satan,” in which she’ll play the love interest of a college dropout turned rock musician. But despite her successes. Culpo often battles imposter syndrome after years of hearing comments that she’s “famous for doing nothing.”

I’m definitely never going to judge anybody for having a different passion. I think that whatever works for you is a beautiful thing.

“Those comments can definitely make me feel a tear. I’ve felt so insecure about that before,” Culpo says. “It’s really easy to get stuck in what other people are telling you you are or what you should be or that you’re not enough. I definitely struggle with that. As I’ve gotten older, it’s been easier for me to get rid of those voices and just listen to myself and keep going. I feel like if i hadn’t done that, I wouldn’t be as successful as I am.”

Photo: Getty Images

And though Culpo’s life has become so intertwined with fashion and beauty that her tips are sought-after on the daily (in case you were wondering—her go-to highlighter is Charlotte Tilbury’s Bar of Gold, which she applies at the tip of her cheekbone and lightly dabs in with her finger), she isn’t one to judge women who don’t wear makeup or have no interest in clothes. Raised in a household where cosmetics were rarely seen, Culpo understands that fashion and makeup are merely interests, not definers of beauty or femininity.

“It’s everybody’s prerogative to have a creative out, however they need too,” Culpo says. “My mom, she doesn’t do makeup or hair. She doesn’t have any trendy clothes. She just does life the way that she wants to do it. But she expresses herself in other ways. I’m definitely never going to judge anybody for having a different passion. I think that whatever works for you is a beautiful thing.
