As has been covered fairly well in the past, Modern Family actress Ariel Winter garners a lot of attention for what she does away from her television role. While she plays the reserved, smart Alex Dunphy on the series, she seems to cut loose in her own life and reveal a bit more than her TV character would ever think about doing. This has gained her quite a lot of criticism, sometimes from her own family, but it is her decision in the end and doesn’t seem to be hurting anybody.

That’s why the latest “controversy” involving Winter has her defending herself on social media. She joined her fellow Modern Family cast members at a screening for the season eight finale — and possible series finale — at the Wolf Theater, with some pointing out the major difference between her dress and the rest of the cast’s outfits.

Ariel Winter seemed like she dressed for a very different red carpet than her “Modern Family” cast mates

The dress is definitely far different from the casual choices made by the other members of the cast, but it’s fairly normal for Winter at this point. It is who she is away from the show, so why not express it?

That’s why she posted a rant on Instagram, lashing out at critics of her choice of dress and defending it as an expression of feeling good:

And you can’t really blame her, can you? We praise fashion on the red carpet all the time but seem to lambast someone who goes against that grain. While she’s definitely taking a different route than the other folks on Modern Family, she’s not lighting the theater on fire. Not to mention that she’s right about wearing what you want if it makes you feel good. There are social limitations, but if you want to wear pajamas or yoga pants every day of your life you can.

Modern Family Actress Sarah Hyland Was Groped On The Red Carpet By A Supposed Fan

Modern Family’s Sarah Hyland is currently doing a promotional tour in Australia with the cast of the hit TV series. But something unsavoury has happened: the 23-year-old says she was assaulted on the red carpet.

Sarah, who plays Haley Dunphy on the programme, was at a party at the Siebel Pier One Hotel when a supposed ‘fan’ asked for her photograph. The ‘fan’ – since identified as serial autograph collector Nedel Lakmas – then apparently groped Sarah’s breast, leaving her shaken and in tears.

There is video evidence of Sarah saying ‘don’t touch me there’ at Nedel – and pointing him out for her security detail to handle. Later, her boyfriend – who is travelling with her tweeted – ‘To the asshole who assaulted Sarah tonight I hope to God you don’t see next week.’ Sarah herself took to instagram using the caption ‘heaven and hell.’

The police have taken swift action. Lakmas, 29, was arrested overnight and charged with indecent assault. He will face court next month over the groping allegations. Considering that only 1 in 84 sexual offences reported to the police result in a conviction in Australia, it’s almost – weirdly – quite heartening to see such decisive action. Then again, you can’t help but wonder whether it’s something to do with the fact the victim is a Emmy-award-nominated-actress with a huge social profile – who, quite rightly, is refusing to stay silent about what she feels was inappropriate behaviour.

Sofia Vergara Dishes on ‘Modern Family’ Coming to an End During 2020 Golden Globes Red Carpet

2020 is bringing a lot of new beginnings and bittersweet endings for “Modern Family” star, Sofia Vergara.

The American-Colombian actress stunned the 2020 Golden Globes red carpet in a Dolce &Gabbana maroon strapless dress, accessorized with jewels from Lorraine Schwartz.

Vergara also stopped by to chat with E!’s Ryan Seacrest about the 11 seasons of “Modern Family” and what it feels like to be saying goodbye to a show that’s become such a huge part of her life and acting career.

“11 seasons of perfection, super sad,” Vergara told Seacrest when asked about how she feels in regards to the show coming to its end. “I was ready, from the first time I stepped on the show and realized how special it was… I made it a thing that I was going to enjoy every award show, every invitation, and thank god I did.”

Looking back, Vergara also adds that she’s glad she took advantage of the opportunities the show brought into her life and that she embraced them all with open arms.

“How many times does an actor get to experience a show like this? It’s gone. It’s done. But I’m glad that I enjoyed it and I milked it,” the actress added jokingly.

The actress also stepped out on the red carpet with her husband Joe Manganiello.

Sofia Vergara set the red carpet on fire at the SAG Awards, Jan. 29, and we are obsessed with her black and silver, tea-length dress! The actress opted for a completely different look for the awards show, and we’re here to break it all down for you!

Sofia Vergara, 44, sizzled on the SAG Awards red carpet, Jan. 29, in Los Angeles, CA. The stunning actress rocked a strapless tea-length dress, which is a fashion 180 for her. She usually gravitates towards body-hugging, cleavage-baring long dresses, but Sofia showed us that she can rock any style with her “comfortable” number!

The top of Sofia’s dress had stunning floral detail, and the bottom was black with sheer material. When she was on the red carpet, Sofia even recognized that her attire wasn’t what she usually goes for. However, she was in the mood to be super comfortable.

The actress dressed up her look with sky-high black, open-toed heels. She rocked Lorraine Shwartz jewelry, per usual, and Sofia was stunning with a bold red lip. And, our favorite part of her SAGs ensemble was her sleek, straight hair — another shocking choice by Sofia, who usually goes for volumtious curls to compliment her red carpet style.

Like we said, this is a completely different look for Sofia. At the 2016 SAG Awards she rocked a tight, cleavage-baring hot pink dress with loose waves. Although she switched it up this year with poke-straight hair and a tea-length number, we’re loving how Sofia is showing us different layers of her amazing style!

And, Sofia didn’t show up to the SAG Awards alone! She rocked her best accessory on her arm on the carpet, her hubby, Joe Manganiello, 40. The pair definitely made our list for the SAGs hottest couples! Joe looked dapper in a black and white tux, and our favorite part of Joe’s look was his salt and pepper facial hair! SO sexy!

The actress showed off her awards show essentials on Instagram, just moments before she turned the SAGs red carpet into her very own runway! She debuted her stunning embellished black bag, and inside was her cell phone, her SAG tickets, of course, and her Covergirl mascara and red lipstick!

Whoa! Sofia Vergara Chose a Very Different Dress for the SAG Awards Red Carpet

We almost didn’t recognize mom-to-be Sofia Vergara on the SAG Awards 2017 red carpet last night! While the Modern Family actress always manages to turn heads, it was the unlikely silhouette and straight, side-parted hair she was wearing that caught our eye.

Typically, Sofia goes for her tried-and-true mermaid gowns that accentuate her curves oh-so nicely. But this time, Sofia walked the red carpet with her handsome husband, Joe Manganiello, wearing a fit-and-flair Zuhair Murad ballerina cocktail dress with a fitted sequined bodice and black tulle skirt, paired with matching black ankle-strap heels and Lorraine Schwartz jewelry. She finished the look with a swipe of bright red lipstick and a matching mani.

Also missing was her signature beachy bombshell waves. Instead, she opted to go for a deep side-part and sleek, straight hair. Overall, the effect was much sweeter than what you typically get with va-va-voom Sofia, and we think she rocks it!

She looks great, doesn’t she? Tweet us your thoughts @BritandCo!
