It’s pretty hard to overshadow Kanye West, but that’s exactly what Teyana Taylor did at the 2016 MTV Music Video Awards. When Kanye debuted his video for “Fade,” Taylor stole the show as the video’s impressively toned star.

As a recording artist, Taylor has four albums under her belt. As a dancer, she was a prodigy; she choreographed Beyoncé’s “Ring the Alarm” video when she was only 16. She’s also the mother of Junie, age one, with basketball star Iman Shumpert. The Cut spoke with her at a KISS beauty party about health, fitness, and her list of favorite junk foods.

How I start my day: Junie is the boss, so whenever the baby wakes up is when I wake up. Sometimes I try to stay asleep, but she’ll roll over me, sit on my head, and then kiss me. Then we go downstairs, where she wants junk food. I’m like, “Girl, eat some cereal, Crunch Berries, something else.” So she’ll set up some Crunch Berries, and then we’ll do bacon because she loves bacon. It sounds weird, bacon and Crunch Berries, but we don’t eat them together! We’ll eat the Crunch Berries, then the bacon.

What wellness means to me: Wellness sounds like some healthy shit. I eat any and everything. A person who doesn’t know me would be like, “Oh my god, that’s so bad for you!” So I don’t know what wellness is and I ain’t getting in the middle of it.

How I like to sweat: I dance. I have a dance fitness program called Fade2Fit, where we do live videos of us dancing. We combine dancing and exercise to make it fun and release pressure. You’ll see results in a week. I do it every day, and I have to choreograph it every day. I haven’t had any complaints yet, so I’m happy about that.

Some people feel intimidated when they walk in the gym. Some people don’t even want to leave the house. I wanted to make something where you don’t have to leave the house to get a workout and feel good.

My thoughts on meditation: No such thing as meditation when you got kids.

My approach to nutrition: I love flavors; I don’t like textures. It’s hard to take down a vegetable without hearing that crunch. No matter how much I try, eating vegetables is really hard. My father-in-law is the chef for me and my husband, and he makes these fruit and vegetable smoothies to help me. That’s my way of getting in my healthy shit without physically having to chomp it down, which would make me gag.

The sort of junk food that I tend to eat: Sort? That’s all I have.

My favorite junk food: I love the purple bag of Skittles. I like powdered donuts by Hostess. I like Honey Buns by Little Debbie. I love Hot Cheetos. Cheetos Puffs. I love sour Starbursts. Oreos — the golden Oreos. I love pickles a lot, but I hate relish. That’s crazy.

My wellness struggle is: People see me and think that I have the most perfect body, but they don’t realize that I have struggled just like they do. If I lift up a weight, I automatically get super strong. That’s why I get intimidated and stay away from the gym — I’m already naturally so strong that if I were to work out I would look like a bodybuilder. Sometimes I can even photograph a little bit harsh. Some people will be like, “Oh girl, stop!” But everybody has their own personal struggles, and when I want to gain weight, it’s hard.

Teyana’s Wellness Recommendation:

Ninja Professional Blender

This is good for smoothies. The blender is probably going to be the best thing that can dilute all the textures in vegetables.

Teyana Taylor just arrived at the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards, and OMG did you see her abs?

Of course you did—Taylor’s rock hard six-pack was kind of hard to miss in a torn white tank made to show off her hard work at the gym. And, yeah, viewers were quick to take notice as she walked the VMA red carpet.

Twitter user Cary Lang wrote what we were all thinking when we saw Taylor strike a pose: “*vows to start going to the gym again tomorrow*”

*vows to start going to the gym again tomorrow* https://t.co/UiGQA7uzBp

— Manessa Lo. (@Nessa_LO) August 21, 2018

Teyana also wore high-waisted black pants with side cutouts that revealed what appeared to be a pretty toned derrière:

So what is Teyana doing to look that fit? Apparently, a killer dance-cardio program. “I have a dance fitness program called Fade2Fit, where we do live videos of us dancing,” she told The Cut. “We combine dancing and exercise to make it fun and release pressure.”

The singer also told The Cut that you can see results in as little as a week. “I do it every day, and I have to choreograph it every day,” she said. “I haven’t had any complaints yet, so I’m happy about that.”

Teyana likes to steer clear of too much strength training because she says it doesn’t work as well for her body.

“If I lift up a weight, I automatically get super strong,” she says. “That’s why I get intimidated and stay away from the gym—I’m already naturally so strong that if I were to work out I would look like a bodybuilder.”

That routine, combined with veggie smoothies (Teyana says she still has trouble getting down whole vegetables) is apparently behind that chiseled six-pack.

When Kanye West debuted his “Fade” music video at the MTV VMA’s back in August, it wasn’t the rapper himself who caused an internet frenzy, but instead Teyana Taylor and her insanely amazing body that stole the show.

Taylor stunned everyone with a hot and sweaty Flashdance-inspired routine, which was filmed in an empty gym. Jaws dropped, gifs were shared, memes were created, gym memberships were bought and the ubiquitous question, “how do I get a body like that?” flooded the internet. If you, like me, still occasionally watch Taylor in the “Fade” video 4 or 5 times in a row (or just on repeat), then you’re in luck: the workout video to follow is finally here.

Taylor took to Instagram to announce the news of her new dance workout videos, appropriately named “Fade 2 Fit.” The Fade2Fit.com site currently has a signup for the upcoming fitness program and a dance fitness tour with a message from Taylor reading: “Everyone keeps asking me what I did to get my body. If you want to know my secret, sign up to get more information on the upcoming dance fitness program and dance workout tour!”

Gentle reminder that the woman in the above video just gave birth to a child not even a full year ago. Please excuse me while I put down the pint of ice cream and sit patiently in front of my screen waiting for the first workout to arrive.

If there were an award for “Greatest Fitspo Moment in Music Video History,” it would go—likely uncontested—to Teyana Taylor for her appearance in Kanye West’s “Fade” video. The R&B singer, who gave birth only eight months before filming the video, looked like the definition of toned, with her sculpted muscles as she danced around an old boxing gym in a sports bra. (Of course, Teyana Taylor’s postpregnancy body shouldn’t necessarily be goals for anyone else—every postpregnancy body is worth loving because each one has just accomplished a miracle.) Naturally, fans were dying to know her workout secrets, and, after months of waiting, we finally have our answer.

Teyana Taylor Launched Fade 2 Fit Online Workout Video” workout plan online as a means of bringing the dance-based workout that keeps her in peak physical condition to the masses. “I wanted to share my secret and show everybody how I get my body,” Taylor told Vogue back in January when the site was announced. “Dance is a workout. Dance is fitness.”

…Though it’s not exactly easy fitness. In case you were wondering, working out like Teyana Taylor is as hard-core as you might imagine. In its 15- and 20-minute videos, Fade 2 Fit takes you through a quick warm-up followed by cardio-based choreography that requires you to use your whole body and burns some pretty major cals. The workout will basically make you feel like you’re in your own Kanye West video, which is always a plus when it comes to exercise. And the best part? You can do the workouts pretty much anywhere. Well, anywhere you have extra-loud speakers, enough room to twerk on the ground, and maybe some privacy, at least.

And if you ever need motivation to get off your butt and start shaking it at the gym, all you need to do is re-watch Taylor do her thang in the “Fade” video. Seriously—it works every time.

Now watch Teyana talk about makeup:

Singer and dancer Teyana Taylor, 25, had people asking one big question this fall: How the hell did she get so snatched? Taylor went viral after starring in Kanye West’s “Fade” music video. In the clip, she dances around an old gym in nothing but a sports bra and thong—and she looks incredible. Everyone took notice, including celebs like Chrissy Teigen, who desperately tweeted, “Teyana WHAAAAAAAAT plz train me.”

Taylor’s kept pretty mum on her workout regimen, telling eager news outlets that she literally “just dances” to stay in shape. But we definitely wanted more information—and now, Taylor’s offering up her secrets. She launched a new fitness website today called “Fade 2 Fitness” (also called “Fade 2 Fit”) which will soon feature Taylor’s exact dance cardio workouts so us mere mortals can train like her. And it sounds like she’ll be traveling the country with her workout program, too.

“Everyone keeps asking me what I did to get my body,” Taylor writes on the website. “If you want to know my secret, sign up to get more information on the upcoming dance fitness program and dance workout tour! Thank you and let’s Fade 2 Fit.”

Taylor promoted the new site on her Instagram, encouraging people to sign up and pre-register. She says early members will get behind-the-scenes footage of the dance workout she did to get in shape post-baby (yes, she JUST had a baby last December). She also shared a sultry video ad for Fade 2 Fitness, and it takes us right back to West’s “Fade” video. Taylor is greased up yet again, and dancing in her signature sports bra and thong.

We’ll definitely be keeping an eye on “Fade 2 Fit” and checking out the workout vids once they drop. Real talk though: We can’t promise we’ll actually work out to the videos—we might just tune in to see more of Taylor in her element.

With a ripped six-pack and chiseled legs and arms, Teyana Taylor is one of the fittest celebrities we can imagine. Which makes her diet even more surprising!

As the “Gonna Love Me” singer admitted exclusively to Us Weekly on Saturday, June 22, her eating habits aren’t exactly the healthiest in Hollywood. Not only is the 28-year-old star not interested in following a general diet or wellness trends like celery juice, she’s also not interested in greens, she told Us at the Hollywood Unlocked social impact brunch in L.A. “I don’t even eat vegetables!” she exclaimed.

But the BET Awards nominee did make it clear that she stays healthy and bloat-free in other ways — specifically, with intense dance cardio-based workouts. “On my own, I have a dance fitness program called fade2fit.com, so that’s the only workout I do,” she says of the online video workouts. “You can watch it and take it home, it’s all good.”

Still, the Teyana & Iman star — who is signed to Kanye West’s GOOD music record label and friends with the Kardashian-West family — mostly credits genetics for her seriously in-shape body. “People used to call me a ninja turtle because even when I was six-years-old, I had a little Buddha belly but there was still a six-pack on top of it,” she told Us in 2018.

Taylor welcomed her daughter, Iman Jr. (with NBA star Iman Shumpert), in December 2015. But she didn’t take much time off from her fitness regimen before or after the birth. “The only real workout I do is dancing and performing,” she added to Us. “I was touring right up until after I was six months pregnant and I was in really good shape, so after she came I just went right back down, almost immediately. That’s the way I do it — I love to dance.”

The star of West’s sultry “Fade” video made clear at the Hollywood Unlocked event that she’s specific about many things in her life. Despite her toned physique, she feels most empowered when she’s wearing more unisex styles. “Honestly,” she told Us, “I feel sexiest when I’m in tomboy mode, my baggy clothes.”

If you’ve made it through this week without hearing Teyana Taylor’s name, let me first congratulate you. I’m not sure how you escaped the 2016 MTV VMA hype surrounding her, but you did. Now, let me educate you. Teyana Taylor is a singer and dancer who skyrocketed to recent fame after starring a new Kanye West music video, which debuted at the VMAs. Taylor stole the show with her unreal physique and killer dance moves—leaving many of us wondering how she looks as amazing as she does. And now we have our answer: Taylor eats what she wants and doesn’t work out. She just dances a lot.

Taylor told E! News that she doesn’t diet. Instead, she “eats everything.” Her friends say she’s the kind of person who eats donuts and candy for breakfast, which sounds pretty effing incredible to me. “My diet sucks,” Taylor confirmed to Vogue. “I eat pizza, fried chicken, macaroni. I don’t eat vegetables. But I dance!”

And that takes us to the fitness part of Taylor’s routine. The performer doesn’t work out in the gym or lift weights. She. Just. Dances. “Dancing is my workout,” she told E! News. “I just dance. I almost feel like dance is so underrated in the fitness world.” And apparently, it’s working. Taylor welcomed her first child with her fiancé, pro basketball player Iman Shumpert, just eight months ago. In fact, Taylor didn’t even know West wanted to feature her in his music video until three weeks before filming, so she didn’t have much time to train and prepare for her “Fade” debut.

So there you have it: Taylor eats what she wants and dances a shitton. This fitness regimen might not work for everyone—for example, those of us who are not as incredibly genetically blessed as Taylor—but it seems to be working for her. Keep doing your thing, Taylor. We’re here for it.

Teyana Taylor Diet and Workout: Hot Bikini Body in ‘Fade’ Video Rocks

Teyana Taylor was the breakout star of the 2016 VMAs, thanks to her off-the-hook body and hot dance moves in Kanye West‘s “Fade” music video.

While fans clamored to learn Teyana’s diet and exercise secrets, Taylor insists dancing and good genes are largely responsible for her incredible bikini body.

“Dancing is my workout. I just dance,” Teyana told E! “I almost feel like dance is so underrated in the fitness world.”

Taylor, who flaunted her ripped abs just 6 days after giving birth to daughter Iman Tayla Shumpert Jr. in December 2015, doesn’t adhere to a strict diet or workout routine.

“I do the lazy workouts,” Teyana told VladTV (see video). “I was 6 years old with a six-pack. I was one of those brolic little kids.”

Taylor, 25, continued: “Once I got older I realized, ‘This is not going anywhere.’ My arms are already kind of naturally brolic, so I try to work on the things that I want more toned. I can give you advice all day on the butt and the legs.”

Teyana Taylor’s bikini fitness secrets are dance workouts and a portion-controlled diet. (Instagram)

Teyana’s friends confirm she is not obsessive about diet or exercise, and still has a bangin’ body, as TheImproper has reported.

“Teyana Taylor has always just had a crazy-dope body and the way she ‘works out’ is dancing in the studio,” said a source. “That’s her workout.”

Dancing is a total-body workout that fuels rapid weight loss, burns fat and gives you washboard abs, said celebrity fitness guru Shaun T, creator of Shaun T’s Rockin’ Body DVD Workout.

Even Kim Kardashian couldn’t contain her admiration for Teyana’s ridiculously ripped body.

Kim tweeted: “You guys!!! @TEYANATAYLOR has the best body ever!!! Like no joke and just had a baby!!!! ??????????????????????????

Taylor even joked that she hates vegetables and eats mostly high-carb fare like mac and cheese.

“I always tell my mom I’m allergic to vegetables,” Teyana laughed. “I’m more of a fried chicken, baked macaroni. I eat everything. I don’t eat healthy at all.”

While that may be true, it’s likely Taylor doesn’t eat huge portions, and is extremely active as a professional dancer.

While Teyana became an overnight sensation and nearly broke the Internet thanks to her appearance in Kanye’s “Fade” video, she’s actually an accomplished singer in her own right.

Teyana released her debut studio album, VII, in 2014. The music album wasn’t a huge commercial success, but received rave reviews.

Taylor first rose to fame after being featured on an episode of MTV’s “My Super Sweet 16” series in 2007.

Teyana Taylor Just Launched a Fitness Site So You Can Steal Her Workout Secrets

Tidal

Teyana Taylor was probably one of the most-talked-about things post-VMAs this year-and for good reason. Her body (and kickass dance moves) basically broke the internet in Kanye West’s “Fade” music video. (Remember how the VMAs were weirdly fitness-y this year? Not complaining.)

Immediately after the show, everyone started asking “HOW?!” because, well, who wouldn’t want a body like that? Especially considering she just gave birth less than a year ago. To some people’s misery (and others’ celebration) she only does the “lazy workouts.” She basically eats whatever she wants and never goes to the gym, she told E! News. She just dances to get those abs. Well, alright then.

But if you’ve been dying to hear that the secret to her body is anything other than genetics, you’re in luck; Taylor just launched a fitness website called Fade 2 Fit, where she’ll be sharing her secrets, specifically “dance workouts and behind the scenes footage of my workout choreography that I did to get back in shape after having baby Junie,” she wrote in the announcement Instagram post.

“Everyone keeps asking me what I did to get my body. If you want to know my secret, sign up to get more information on the upcoming dance fitness program and dance workout tour,” says Taylor in a message on the site.

You can pre-register now to see what Taylor has in store, or just dance around your living room to “Kanye’s Workout Plan” and hope for the same results. (P.S. here’s an epic Kanye West workout playlist that really will fuel you in the gym.)

Teyana Taylor dancing in Kanye West’s “Fade” music video

Kanye West launched his new track “Fade” last weekend and most of us couldn’t keep our eyes off the young star that was enjoying a very sweaty workout by wearing just a sports bra, a thong, and knee pads. The young star was none other than Teyana Taylor who has been in the music scene for nearly 10 years but never got the fame she acquired by just this video. Her awesome body is giving people serious workout motivation and even Kim Kardashian is among her body admirers. So, let’s find out what workout routine and diet secrets are behind that stunning body.

Post-Pregnancy Miracle

Most of you won’t believe that the video vixen gave birth to a daughter at the end of 2015. Yes, it’s true. Her daughter is Iman Tayla Shumpert, Jr. and she even makes an appearance in the video. What’s more amazing is that the diva was clicked just 6 days after the birth. She had posted a picture of herself in which she showed off her tummy and wrote that she was thankful for snapping back in shape just after 6 days of birthing. She added that she hadn’t even hit the gym.

Workout Routine

Those of you who are green with envy of her amazing body just got a reason to feel more jealous. The singer recently talked to Vogue about her workout regime and said that dancing is the only workout she does. She says that she doesn’t want to lie and tell people that she works out three or four times a week while all she does is dance.

The sexy vocalist also thinks dancing as a fitness tool is very much underrated as people don’t understand that they are doing actual workout. It doesn’t matter which form of dancing it is; either Zumba, tap dancing or ballet, they all are a form of an exercise. (We agree with her, dancing is an awesome workout, everyone must try!!)

A Workout DVD

The American recording artist also shared that she is planning to launch her own workout DVD, probably in late 2016 because she is not selfish. She says that most people are selfish as they try to keep all their fitness secrets to them but she is not like those people. She will share everything with her fans.

Diet Secrets

The love interest of NBA player Iman Shumpert is not a fan of fad diets or any type of juice cleanses. She doesn’t gorge on vegetables to stay fit but indulges in all sorts of not so healthy food like cakes, pizza, fried chicken, macaroni, etc. She also confesses that she sometimes joked to her mom about vegetables and said that she was allergic to vegetables and won’t eat what she can’t spell, reports cbs8.

Motivating Kim Kardashian

One of the most unusual achievements of Taylor is that she made Kim Kardashian feel motivated for a workout by flaunting her voluptuous body. A day after the video was launched, the famous TV star posted this:

Ok just woke up & watched the Fade video again for my Monday morning gym motivation. Thank you @TEYANATAYLOR ????

You guys!!! @TEYANATAYLOR has the best body ever!!! Like no joke and just had a baby!!!! ??????????????????????????

Kim also posted this later on:

Motivating Others

Interestingly Kim Kardashian is not the only person who feels motivated to workout after the video was released. Many other people took to social media to share how Teyana motivated them or their gym mates to workout. Here are some of the posts that were reported by Yahoo.

@TEYANATAYLOR had planet fitness so packed today I just wanted to go to my normal empty gym ?? thanks for motivating people

All eyes were on Teyana Taylor’s abs at the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards as she stepped onto the pink carpet in a cropped white top and high-waisted black pants with severe cutouts that revealed an extremely defined midsection (and booty, too!).

And rightfully so — the Teyana & Iman star’s six-pack truly looked unreal.

The 25-year-old singer, who graces the September/October 2018 cover of Playboy, attributes her chiseled midsection to a few factors — first and foremost is genetics. “People used to call me a ninja turtle because even when I was six-years-old, I had a little Buddha belly but there was still a six pack on top of it,” she tells Us Weekly.

The second source of her flat belly is surprising — her daughter. Well, running around after her that is: “My daughter really is my trainer and she does not play around, she’s a real active little girl, so running all around, I swear keeps me in shape,” the actress tells Us of Iman Jr., whom she welcomed in December 2015 with her NBA star husband, Iman Shumpert.

The “K.T.S.E’” singer also credits her husband — and their sex life — for her sculpted physique. “And of course my husband is my trainer, when we cut it up in the bedroom, living room, every room,” she jokes.

Her amazing abs are also a side effect of her career. “The only real workout I do is dancing and performing,” she tells Us. “I was touring right up until after I was six months pregnant and I was in really good shape, so after she came I just went right back down, almost immediately. That’s the way I do it — I love to dance.”

Along with using dance as a way to get stage-ready and get in a stellar sweat session, Taylor, who starred in Kanye West’s sexy video for “Fade,” uses her fancy footwork to have fun with pals. “I dance with my friends and I prep for touring and rehearsals,” she shares. “I don’t like being in the gym with people stunting and grunting. I feel intimidated by the gym and I don’t have time for that, I just like to have fun and dance has always been a huge part of my life.”

Her do-it-anywhere dance secret: her own dance fitness program, fadetofit.com. “It gives you 7-minute quick dance workouts and I incorporated all of the dance moves that I was doing when I was pregnant and touring that really got me into shape,” she tells Us. “It’s so dope.”
