These blog names all have one thing in common – none of them will create a wildly popular site overnight. Even if you could find the best name possible for your blog, the impact on your success would be minimal at best. In the end, your personality and the content that you create are much more significant than a name could ever be.

How To Choose A Good Blog Name

It’s true that the right blog name will never make your site a success on its own, but it’s still a good idea to avoid some clear mistakes and get started on the right foot. That’s where these general rules come in.

First, watch out for obscure extensions, such as .blog or .xyz. This is true even if the domain that you want isn’t available as a .com. Unusual extensions are less likely to get ranked and visitors tend to trust them less as well. will not perform better than Dot Com’s are always first choice.

Regional variations can be used (.ca,, .au) are okay to use if your audience is purely local, and your content is only relevant to people from that country. If you want to reach the world though, just stick with .com.

Another good rule is to watch out for copyrighted brands, like Weight Watchers or FitBit. If you do use something copyrighted, there is a risk that you’d have to change your site name later. Doing so might confuse your audience too. There are definitely cases where people get away with using brands, like, but they are the exception, not the rule.

This means that it is best to avoid anything that is similar to a copyrighted name. For example, will go after people who create websites and brands that even use variations on Amazon.

Keyword VS Branding

Another area to consider is whether you want to focus on keywords or branding. A keyword-focused name will include your full keyword or a variation of it in the site name itself.

The memorability of branded site names is a huge bonus. This type of name is often easy to promote too, as you’re typically using a short name that will stick in people’s minds. Though you don’t get the benefit of keyword ranking, you may gain the benefit of repeat visits due to your unique brand.

Domain names can be easily purchased from domain name registration companies. GoDaddy remains one of the most popular options, partly because it often seems like they have amazing deals.

Many people do use GoDaddy without any problems, but it’s important to pay close attention to what you’re signing up for. The site has a bad habit of trying to sell you extra services that you don’t really need. There are also many deals that have a low initial price and high renewal fee.

I currently use, and recommend, Namecheap. The company focuses on inexpensive domain names too – without the excessive upsells that GoDaddy is so fond of. The pricing structure is clear too, so you’re not going to get slapped with hidden fees.

Regardless of the service that you use, the process of purchasing a domain name is simple. Most sites allow you to easily search for available names and purchasing the one you want is just a matter of following through their steps.

How To Build & Make Money From Your Weight Loss Website

Once you have a blog name and an associated domain, the next step is building your site. There are multiple approaches to consider here as well.

One area is whether you want to use a free website or a paid one. Free websites often come from website builder companies, like Wix, Weebly or Yola. Each service has different features, but they all tend to have some restrictions that could hurt your traffic or worse – income – long term.

For example, most free site builders limit your ability to host ads and/or use affiliate marketing. Others might restrict the size of your site or which design elements you can use.

You can typically upgrade to a paid plan to get the features that you want, including the ability to earn money online. For example, making an is possible, but there are limitations. One is that there are very few options for hosting your website.

This is a problem with most site builders and often means that you’re paying at least $20 per month for your site, if not more. This isn’t a huge expense, but you can get more benefits at a much lower cost by using a self-hosted WordPress website.

WordPress is also widely recognized and you have plenty of options for hosting. Another feature is flexibility. Most of her income is from ad networks and a little comes from affiliate marketing. She also earns from selling her own eBooks, writing sponsored posts and arranging for private advertising.

Another successful site is Fit Mom Journey. This is a food site that offers a variety of recipes for keto dieters. As part of her site, Gretchen shares many personal insights and stories along the way.

Her income report for April 2018 showcases total income of a little under $8,500. Most of this came from ads, although Gretchen does rely on affiliate marketing as well. This income report is also fascinating, as Gretchen talks about the limitations of setting goals and how goals ended up doing her more harm than good.

Display Ads

Display ads can seem like the obvious choice for new website owners. All you’re doing is hosting ads on your website. You don’t need your content to have any connection to those ads.

There are many different display ad networks that you can choose from. These vary in many ways, such as the interface that they use, how much you can earn and the requirements that you need to meet. Google AdSense is easily the most well-known choice, but it has many limitations and can be frustrating.

You can choose how you approach hosting ads. Some people just go with the default settings, while others make changes to try and optimize income.

Either way, display ads perform best on high traffic websites. Brand new sites tend to earn very little from ads. Sites in low traffic niches may struggle to ever get enough visitors to make decent income from ads alone.

Affiliate Links

Affiliate marketing is a more involved approach for earning money. Most affiliate marketers manually insert affiliate links in their content and choose the products and services that they promote carefully.

Writing product reviews is one approach that balances sales and product promotion well. You could make a weight loss blog that simply features reviews of popular weight loss products and probably make a killing doing that alone. It’s often easy to find good keywords for such reviews, and on top of that there are a high volume of searches for product reviews, plus they tend to convert better compared to other types of keywords.

Keeping Up With Katie: Ledecky Dives into New Role with STEM Education

In a little over six months, Katie Ledecky will be in Tokyo for the 2020 Summer Games trying to add to her collection of five Olympic gold medals.

In the midst of training, she found time to dip her toes into something very meaningful to her – education. Ledecky announce a new partnership with Panasonic that will help empower students by giving them opportunities in STEM education.

She’s lost nearly 40 pounds and in the process gained some serious muscle tone and loyal fans. She’s not the only weight-loss blogger keeping it real: Roni Noone of has lost 70 pounds through blogging and striking a balance. Losing weight is challenging, and it seems everyone has an opinion on the best way to do it. The bottom line is “one size does not fit all” when it comes to weight loss. Basic differences such as age, sex, body type, underlying medical issues, physical activity, genetics, past experiences with dieting, and even food preferences can influence a person’s ability to lose weight and keep it off.

About half of American adults surveyed between 2013 and 2016 reported trying to lose weight at some point during the prior 12 months. And yet nearly 70% of adults in the United States are overweight or obese. Excess weight is associated with serious health conditions including type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and some cancers.

Although there is not one “perfect” diet for weight loss, research does support certain universal behaviors for people who are trying to lose weight. These include cutting out soda and sugary drinks, avoiding a sedentary lifestyle, and focusing on food quality rather than simply on calories.

Here are 10 behaviors that can support efforts for weight loss and healthful eating:

1. Know where you are starting. Keep a food record for three days. Track all the food and beverages you eat along with the portions. Identify how often you are eating away from home, eating takeout, or buying food on the run.

2. Home in on your goal and make a plan. What is your goal? Do you want to lose weight to improve your health? Do you dream of fitting into an old pair of jeans? How will you achieve your goal? Will you cook more meals at home? Will you eat smaller portions? Be specific and start small.

3. Identify barriers to your goals — and ways to overcome them. Could a busy schedule get in the way of going to the gym? Wake up an hour earlier. Has an empty pantry prevented you from cooking at home? Look up some healthy recipes, then head to the grocery store armed with a list of ingredients you’ll need to prepare them.

4. Identify current habits that lead to unhealthful eating. Do you relax and reward yourself by snacking in front of the TV? Do you skip lunch only to feel starved by midafternoon, ready to eat anything in sight? Do you finish everything on your plate even after you start to feel full?

5. Control your portions. Refamiliarize yourself with standard serving sizes. Did you know that one serving of poultry or meat is 4 ounces, or the size of a deck of playing cards? Or that one serving of pasta is only 1/2 cup?

6. Identify hunger and satiety cues. Be aware of physical versus emotional hunger. Do you eat when you feel something physical in your body that responds to food? Or do you eat when you are stressed, bored, tired, sad, or anxious? Try to stop eating BEFORE getting full (it takes about 20 minutes for your brain to register “stop eating” signals from your stomach). Foods that can help you feel fuller include high-fiber foods such as vegetables, whole grains, beans, and legumes; protein (fish, poultry, eggs); and water.

7. Focus on the positive changes. Changing behavior takes time — at least three months. Don’t give up if you slip up along the way. Get support from others and take the time to acknowledge the changes you have made.

8. Go with the 80/20 rule. Stay on track 80% of the time, but leave some room for a few indulgences. You don’t want to feel deprived or guilty.

9. Focus on overall health. Walk, dance, bike, rake leaves, garden — find activities you enjoy and do them every day. Ditch the “diet” aisle and focus on seasonal, whole, high-quality foods.

10. Eat slowly and mindfully. Enjoy the entire experience of eating. Take the time to appreciate the aromas, tastes, and textures of the meal in front of you.

Changing behavior takes time and effort. Taking a few small steps today will make a difference in your health tomorrow.

Trimmin’ Down in Texas Blog

I have battled with being overweight for most of my life, but finally, I have found something that works for me! Take Shape For Life Is A Scam – Not True!

Many of you will find Take Shape For Life to be just another network marketing or business opportunity and from what I’ve seen a lot of people are doing very well with it. It is not much different than anything else out there.

I don’t think Take Shape For Life is a scam. The people calling any company a scam should be a red flag to you… it really tells you something about themselves.

If they had time to bash a company another leader or a product do you think they’re really that successful?

Most of these people failed to make a living online or just want to flip you into another offer. They make a quick buck and move onto the next thing.

I see a VERY big problem with the people trying to promote their Take Shape For Life business.

They are taking one of the hardest, if not the hardest routes imaginable!

Since Take Shape For Life is an online business platform, it makes sense that it’s heavily promoted online. Yet what I see are a lot of people spamming up social media like Facebook to try to get leads. A lot don’t even build mailing lists!

With that approach you will get a lot more no’s (or ignores) than you will get yes’s.

The way I and other successful people do it is having a blog! And this blog needs to be independent of any offers you are trying to promote.

That is by far the simplest way I have found of having your long term business that you can rely on!

Below I have listed the simple 4 step process that you need to follow if you wanted to get started the smart way!

4 Stages of Starting Your Take Shape for Life Business, the Right Way!

1) Having Your Own Blog

So as I have said already, you need to have your own blog!

While it might sound like a big deal and a lot of work, trust me, it’s not!

Setting up a blog is super easy now a days and there are hosting companies that will even do it for you!

Once you have a blog, you now have a platform that you can get started with marketing!

2) Picking Good Keywords!

In this step, you are simply trying to find out which keywords you would like to start ranking for!

It’s as simple as finding out which field or which business opportunity offer you want to get started with!

You need to know exactly which keyword you want to get ranked for.

And yes, this does include a little bit of SEO (Search Engine Optimization) as well, but you don’t need to get overwhelmed even if you have never heard about SEO.

That is relatively easy and you can learn how in my bootcamp training.

3) Delivering Content

After the first two steps, you simply need to start writing and delivering good content to your followers.

If your content is really good, informative and insightful, people will start getting attracted to you and they will start looking at you as an authority to follow in your field!

4) Getting Them On Your List!

This step will literally separate you from most sales people out there in the field who just simply want to start selling right after meeting people!

You want to let people know that you are different!

You need to make your main focus to build your email list because it’s a digital asset. You can send an email to your list and make money anytime.

But….there is a bigger picture than that.

You want to get the people on your list to love you by helping them and creating great content because when they trust you they will follow your every work, buy whatever you’re selling and be begging for more.

Compared to the typical hard sell, which isn’t fun.

When Brittany Gibbons started out as a blogger in 2007, she thought she was going to be writing about food. Eight years, many tears and one very daring TED Talk later, Gibbons has become an outspoken advocate for body positivity and female empowerment. But it didn’t always come easy, especially in her early days. “Job number one while being fat on the Internet is figuring out how fat you are,” she writes in her upcoming book, Fat Girl Walking, out on hardcover May 19. “The second rule of being fat on the Internet is taking charge of your fat on the Internet.”

Body talk was becoming a huge topic across almost all forms of media, but unfortunately, the majority of it surrounded the effects of unrealistic beauty standards and bullying on teen girls. Having a daughter myself, I could see why these conversations were important, but what about the rest of us? What about the women who were being fat-shamed in the media, discriminated against in the workplace, mocked on television, and ignored by the fashion companies? Where was the guide on how to be thirty and plus size and love yourself? Where were all those conversations?

They weren’t happening yet, leaving an entire population of women completely disenfranchised, and I saw this as a chance to become a point of reference and authority for plus-size women online. I was already speaking out about my weight and my struggles with body image, and was making huge strides not only in personally loving my size, but in helping others do the same, so that Band-Aid had already been ripped off.

Now it was just a matter of turning the societal conversation from fat discrimination to body acceptance. Plus-size people were often portrayed in society as villains. We affected your health-care costs with our diabetes and our heart attacks. We all wanted gastric bypass and lap-band surgery as an easy way out. We were eating all the fast food from the dollar menu. We were lazy, lacked self-control, and were unpleasant to look at. We were an epidemic.

So those are the conversations I started having. I denounced body shaming. I promoted loving your body, just as you were. I challenged fashion companies to step up to the plate and provide us with stylish options and realistic models. I grabbed my bathing suits and skinny jeans and talked about fashion that worked for my body. And I started taking my clothes off every chance I got; hell, I gave every sex worker in America a run for her money.

The more people saw me, the more normal my body became to them. People see a naked thin woman and think, Oh, isn’t she beautiful. Then they see a naked plus-size woman and think, Oh, bless her heart, she feels good about herself, that’s adorable. I was going to keep showing the world my body until the reaction stopped being how nice for her and started being look at that beautiful woman.

This quest solidified me as the Internet’s token fat girl, and I appeared on news shows and podcasts and was quoted in magazines, all because I was the authority on being fat. Something that years ago would have humiliated me, I now wore like a badge of honor. What’s the worst that could happen? I’m called fat? My self-esteem was made bulletproof, and as a result, I’d become fearless.

I’m not an expert at many things. There’s a few things I’m good at but a lot of things that I’m not. However, when it comes to being the token “fat girl”, dieting, and struggling with body image, that’s what I really know a lot about. That is what I’ve lived. That is what I know inside and out. I’m still on this journey and I always will be.

I may not know much but I know exactly what it feels like to be the fat girl. You know what else? I hate that term. Fat Girl. It stings every time I hear it. Some people are ok with that phrase. It’s not something that’s ever been used in my life as a positive description. It’s been used to hurt me.

For the longest time I let my weight dictate every single thing about my life. Shoot, I still have my moments and I probably always will. But, I also know what it’s like to learn to love yourself and create an irresistible life. Like I said, I may not be an expert at much but if there was such a thing, I’m definitely an expert at knowing what it’s like to be the “fat girl.”

Binge Eating, Dieting & Weight Loss

When it comes to binge eating, dieting, weight loss, and being the “fat girl”, I know what it feels like to

♥ Say “I’ll start over tomorrow.”

♥ Start over only to binge and then beat yourself up for eating “bad.”

♥ Eat everything in sight for the remainder of the month so you can get a “fresh start” on the first.

♥ Binge eat all weekend to clear out your cabinets and get rid of all your cravings because you vowed to start over on Monday.

♥ Have a “food hangover” the next morning which feels like a bloated, swollen mess smothered with shame.

♥ Starve yourself.

♥ Try every diet pill and think “This is the cure. I’ll finally be skinny!”

♥ Drive to different fast food joints so the employees don’t think you’re a fat pig that eats there everyday.

♥ Pretend to order food for more than just yourself because you’re ashamed for someone to think all of that is just for you.

♥ Be afraid to eat in front of people because they are judging your food decisions no matter if you order a salad or a double cheeseburger.

♥ Be afraid to eat healthy in front of people for fear of being accused of being on a diet, knowing they can’t wait to watch you fail.

♥ Try every diet only to have failed each and every one.

♥ Succeed in losing weight only to gain it all back plus more.

♥ Throw sweets into the trash only to dig into the trash later to eat them.

♥ Spray Lysol or Windex on your food so that you won’t be tempted to dig it out of the trash.

♥ Eat when you’re not even hungry.

♥ Feel guilt, shame, and disgust for eating “bad” food.

♥ Feel like like you’ll NEVER lose the weight and be a “normal” size.

Clothing + Fashion

When it comes to clothing, fashion, and being the “fat girl”, I know what it feels like to

♥ Go shopping with a group of “skinny” friends and pretend that you only want to look at shoes and jewelry because none of the clothes will fit.

♥ Tag along with skinny friends to a stupid store called 5-7-9 which literally only sold those sizes. The ultimate fat shaming retailer.

♥ Get stared at by the employees at 5-7-9 for daring to step inside their “skinny girls only” store.

♥ Never know what it’s like to share clothes with your friends.

♥ Live through the era of belly shirts (thanks to the 2000’s) and not being able to join in on the trend.

♥ Never know what it’s like to wear a bikini.

♥ Go to every single store at the mall and leave with nothing because nothing fits you.

♥ Feel embarrassed to walk over to the “plus size” section which is always shoved in the corner of the store which makes it feel even more shameful.

♥ Be told “your size” is “over there” by a sales person whom you didn’t even want help from in the first place.

♥ Try on everything in your closet only to have every single piece of clothing fit too tight or not at all.

♥ Cry and not want to leave your house because nothing fits and you feel disgusting.

♥ Dread being asked to be a bridesmaid because now everyone will know your true size and you’ll look extra fat next to all those “perfect” bridesmaids who wear a size 6.

♥ Cut the tags out of your clothes so that nobody will see the size.

♥ Have every single size in your closet.

♥ Only have a few pairs of pants that actually fit and to have those pants literally get holes burned into the thighs from them rubbing together because you wear them every single day.

♥ Understand the meaning of “chub rub” when wearing short or skirts.

♥ Own every type of Spanx and body shaper on the market.

♥ Work up a sweat getting dressed with said body shaper.

♥ Have the body shaper create extra back fat rolls that you have to tuck in every time it rolls down your stomach when you sit down.

♥ Constantly have to shift and adjust your clothes when you stand up.

♥ Buy clothes too small so that you have motivation to lose weight . . . only to NEVER fit into those clothes.

The Token Fat Friend

When it comes to social situation, “friends”, and being the “fat girl”, I know what it feels like to

♥ Hear your “friends” talk about how fat they are in front of you . . .when they clearly are not fat.

♥ Walk into a room and do the quick “fat people scan” to immediately notice you’re the only “fat” person.

♥ Be picked last because you’re too fat and you’re basically invisible to 7th grade boys.

♥ Be the token “fat friend.”

♥ Be discriminated against because of your size.

♥ Cancel plans with friends because you feel too fat and have nothing to wear.

♥ Be made fun of by groups of kids because you were too fat and therefore not good enough for them.

♥ Wonder why anyone would choose to befriend the “fat girl”.

Body Image

When it comes to body image and being the “fat girl”, I know what it feels like to

♥ Dread being told by your doctor that you’re overweight and by the ridiculous and outdated standards of the BMI.

♥ Hide in group photos to cover up your fatness.

♥ Dread being tagged in photos that you didn’t approve yet.

♥ Know every flattering angle to use when taking your own photos.

♥ Cringe when you see yourself in photos because you clearly didn’t look like that in the mirror or your selfies.

♥ Literally want to rip off the skin you’re in.

♥ Constantly compare your body to other women.

♥ Never see a woman that looks like you on TV or the media so therefore you confirm what the bullies have told you: “you’re too fat, gross, and not good enough.”

♥ Feel like the person you see in the mirror is NOT the person in your head or the person you know you are capable of becoming.

♥ Look back on your younger days and realize you weren’t even “fat.” A little chubby yes. Curvy, hell yea.

♥ Want to be as fat as you were when you thought you were fat.


When it comes to living life as the”fat girl”, I know what it feels like to

♥ Cringe every single time you hear the phrase “fat girl” because it was used purposely to hurt you.

♥ Hit passengers on the head with your hips when walking down the aisle of a plane.

♥ Pray that you fit into the airplane seat before you sit down.

♥ Make yourself feel as small as possible (which is incredibly uncomfortable) when sitting next to a stranger on the plane so you don’t hit them with your hips that are overflowing onto the arm rail.

♥ Feel too scared to do anything adventurous because you’re afraid there’s a weight limit.

♥ Lose weight and still feel haunted every time you see a weight limit.

♥ Lie about your weight on your driver’s license.

♥ Get out of people’s way and apologize for taking up space.

Here’s What I Also Know . . . It Gets Better!

♥ You are irresistible just the way you are.

♥ You don’t need to lose weight to be “good enough.”

♥ Your weight does not define you or make you a bad person.

♥ If you want to change, it’s ok to lose weight.

♥ It’s also ok to stay just the way you are.

♥ Life doesn’t have to start 20 lbs from now.

♥ You can be overweight AND irresistible.

♥ There’s someone out there that would love to have your curves.

♥ It’s possible to love your body and yourself no matter what size you are.

♥ You ARE more than enough and anyone that doesn’t see that doesn’t deserve you.

♥ You are capable and deserving of an irresistible life.

Someday Isn’t a Real Day

If you can relate to anything on this list, then you are in the right place. You are my people! We are spirit animals!

I’m not perfect. I’ve struggled with my weight and body image my ENTIRE life. The first time I was told that I “wasn’t like the other kids” was in elementary school. I remember doing my first official diet when I was 12 years old.

I’ve tried every single diet on the market. I’ve gained and lost weight more times that I can even count. I know exactly how it feels to want to change but something deep inside keeps stopping you.

Over the past few years, I’ve learned that it’s about more than the number on the scale, dieting, and exercise. The bigger part of this journey is mental. I started working on myself from the inside and it’s made a huge difference in how I view myself. I stopped saying “someday” and started doing the work to create the irresistible life I knew I deserved.

That’s not to say I’m at my “goal” weight or ideal body. No. Far from it. I am, however, not waiting until I’m at goal to live an irresistible life. Life is too short for that, girl!

I will ALWAYS be a work in progress.

Once I started putting a name on these issues and talking about it out loud and through my blog, it helped me to heal. I know that I wasn’t given this “problem” to deal with alone. I know that I can use what I have been through to help other people. Growing up there was nobody to relate to that was going through the same thing. There was no social media, no blogs, and nobody that looked like me. I want to be who I needed back then.

That’s what Irresistible Icing is about. It’s my place online to share my struggles and successes with weight loss, body image, and creating an irresistible life. I hope that by sharing MY stories, it will help you too. Like I said, I may not know much but when it comes to being the “fat girl”, I know it. I know it well.

It’s been a long time since I accepted a book for review. I had been burned way too many times, so when I got an email asking me if I wanted to read this book called Fat Girl Walking I side-eyed it a bit. But then I saw it was from a publisher I recognize (HarperCollins) so I thought sure, I’ll give this a try. Made the right choice. Good job, me! (Oh also, thanks Harper for being awesome and asking me if I wanted a copy of this in exchange for a review.)

Fat Girl Walking: Sex, Food, Love, and Being Comfortable in Your Skin…Every Inch of It by Brittany Gibbons aka Brittany Herself is a bit of a mouthful for a title. But I very much like what they did with the cover and the text. Reminds me a lot of Caitlin Moran’s How To Be A Woman and Jenny Lawson’s Let’s Pretend This Never Happened covers. Good company to be in. It’s a memoir where Brittany talks about her life growing up fat*, how her weight was a central part to how she developed, how she sees herself, and ultimately what she’s doing now. She has a pretty successful blog. She was on Good Morning America wearing a bikini in Time Square. She gave a TED Talk that got a standing ovation. That’s some pretty snazzy stuff.
I feel like I sort of made this sound like a feel-good type memoir and while yeah, I guess it DOES make you feel good and it encourages you to love you, it does it by being hilarious, which is what I need in my memoirs. There are a lot of embarrassing moments (sex-ed classes at a Christian school can cause some interesting/sad misunderstandings). The comparison to Jenny Lawson’s book goes beyond just the cover; the two are very similar in terms of style and even content. Sure, Gibbon’s book features way less taxidermy but if you like one, you’re likely to enjoy the other. And her weight isn’t the ONLY thing discussed. Her father is hit by a truck and suffers brain-damage when she’s a kid. She has a bit of a breakdown in college that results in her never leaving the house. I realize those are dark things, but she handles them so well. Probably because she got some great advice from her grandmother:
You are going to fail at a lot of things, so when you do, do it on such a grand scale that half the room gives you a standing ovation, and the other half gives you the middle finger. So yeah, good stuff.
As part of this review, they also gave me an excerpt to share so you can get a flavor of her style. And I can just copy and paste this instead of having to copy out a bunch of quotes, which is probably what I would have ended up doing instead.
NOW WHAT? My fitness and body aspirations at thirty are different from my aspirations at twenty. At twenty, I just assumed I’d work out until I was so tiny, people became concerned for my health and I’d roll my eyes at them from my Victoria’s Secret bras and Abercrombie jeans. Now I just want to maintain my current weight so I don’t need to buy new clothes. When you look at weight loss, it’s often clothing driven. Weddings, vacations, and high school reunions, all things you are supposed to be thin for. But what if you have a gorgeous wedding dress in your current size, loads of flattering bathing suits, and a killer pair of jeans? Starving myself has suddenly become a moot point. I have options; I’m no longer a fashion pariah. So where does that leave my weight? Well, unless I’m sitting atop you, what I weigh is really none of your business. I like to put good food in my mouth, and while I am aware of the calories I ingest, instead of cutting them I make them count. I have a full-on love affair with food, appreciating the different cultures and processes within it. In fact, I take entire vacations around eating. It’s how I remember where I’ve been; I’ve either eaten, thrown up, or started my period without the proper supplies there. Beignets with my best friend in New Orleans. Too much rum on the beaches of Playa del Carmen on our second honeymoon. Orlando, Florida, the city of emergency men’s tube sock maxi-pads. You see, these flabby parts aren’t problem areas; they’re parts of a scrapbook. I can see this being a book I revisit, even if I haven’t had the same issues with weight that Brittany tackles throughout. You don’t need to be exactly like her for this book to be relatable and entertaining.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go check out her TED Talk.
