Ellen DeGeneres’ New Baby Lifestyle Collection (Plus Why She’s Breaking Into the Baby Market!)

There isn’t a lot Ellen DeGeneres hasn’t done. She’s a stand-up comic, actress, author, talk show host, and award show aficionado. She has her own record company, production company, and lifestyle label.

Now, the 59-year-old has launched her own baby collection, ED Ellen DeGeneres baby collection, an extensive line that includes everything from cribs and dressers to clothing, swaddles and bibs. The line is an extension of her already popular lifestyle label, ED By Ellen, which sells home goods, accessories and clothing.

“Babies love to be swaddled and should always be surrounded by love and kindness,” DeGeneres, 59, said in the home page for her new line on Buy Buy Baby’s website. “I created my baby collection with that thought in mind.”

People magazine recently interviewed DeGeneres about the baby line and she was as Ellen as ever, basically refusing to give a straight answer. When asked why she created the collection, she said: “Some of my ED by Ellen adult clothing got put in the dryer for too long and shrunk. But then I looked at it and thought, ‘That would look adorable on babies.’”

When asked what item she’d most recommend for new moms, she told People: “From my collection, it would probably be my “love” crib. If I had to pick something that wasn’t from my collection, I would say a 10-day vacation to Bora Bora.”

Sounds about right.

The ED Ellen DeGeneres baby collection will be available at Buy Buy Baby stores and online at buybuybaby.com starting Wednesday.

What’s In Ellen DeGeneres x Walmart EV1 Clothing Line? It’s Full Of Love

Ellen DeGeneres is so much more than a talkshow host. She embodies love and kindness and I just want to be her best friend. In lieu of knowing her IRL, though, I’ll support her from afar. Here’s what’s in Ellen DeGeneres x Walmart EV1 clothing line because obviously I want it all.

Walmart and DeGeneres have teamed up in the past for the Ellen show, with the superstore making significant donations towards some of Ellen’s viewers in need of a helping hand. The duo are back at it with an inspiring new clothing line called EV1, which stands for “everyone.” Degeneres said in a press release about the brand, “Adorableness. Is that a word? The biggest inspiration was actually inclusiveness. That’s definitely a word. EV1 promotes kindness and love and diversity. We wanted it to appeal and be available to as many people as possible. Plus, it really is adorable.”

EV1 is available starting Sept. 10 at Walmart stores and online and the best part of it all is that everything is $30 or less. My jaw dropped when I heard that, too. Most of the clothing goes up to a size 20 or XXXL, making true on its name that it’s for everyone. Check out some of DeGeneres’ favorites from the launch below.

Much of the collection features messages of love and strength, meant to inspire the wearer and others of the power of such positive thoughts. DeGeneres spoke with Walmart’s Head of E-Commerce Fashion, Denise Incandela, about this idea:

The whole collection is rooted in love and spreading love, and I think that’s such an important message. So whether actually says ‘love’ or there’s a heart, it’s just a way to remind people that love is love and love is powerful. Giphy

“EV1 is a brand for everyone. Plain and simple. There’s a price point for everyone and there’s a style for everyone and I think EV1 one is gonna like it,” elaborated DeGeneres. With everything from jeans, activewear, shoes, accessories, you’d be hard-pressed not to find something you like.

Getting back in shape can be a challenge. Thankfully, dressing for the gym is now easier than ever.

Let’s face it, getting back in shape can be a challenge. Thankfully, dressing for the gym is now easier than ever. Ditch the slouchy tees and baggy sweats and go for workout clothes that will flatter your figure as you get back in shape. Here are some tips on choosing the right fitness apparel for your body type.

If you’re petite

Elongate a small frame with slim-fit yoga pants that skim the hips and thighs and flare slightly below the knees. Full-length pants are almost always a better bet than capris or cropped styles, because the full length extends the line of your legs. If you’re petite plus, opt for sleek compression tops and bottoms made with extra spandex for slimming support.

If you’re plus size or curvy

Go for stretchy, fitted tops, jackets and pants in compression fabrics. Not only will you be more comfortable, you’ll look slimmer and feel more supported. When choosing pants, look for wide-leg or bootcut styles with hidden support panels around the middle. Remember that spandex is your friend – it smoothes and adds support.

If you’ve got a mommy tummy or muffin top

Make your middle little with compression tops and pants made with double-layer fabrics. They’ll hold you in. Pick pants with higher-rise panels for extra control.

If you’re busty

If you’re big-busted—we’re talking about a D cup or higher—you need a good, supportive sports bra. If you’ve worn two (or three) sports bras at once in order to work out comfortably, this is for you. Here’s what to look for when shopping for a sports bra: encapsulation/compression combination styles with wide, cushioned straps to evenly redistribute weight, and wider rib bands to secure the bra. Look for fitness tops and tanks in compression fabrics and slimming solid colors. Choose v-necks styles over crew or scoop necklines. Skip the tops with “built-in” bras—they won’t offer you enough support.

Slim-fit tip: Try colorblocking

Carefully placed blocks of color can be just as slimming as all black. Look for active separates that feature colorblocking. Contrasting patterns or lines of color – especially vertical lines – help you appear longer and leaner. Plus, color is an instant mood booster!
